I was wondering why it was missing at all. Wasn't it right there, on the ransom note, at the end of "cliffhangers"? I'm assuming he didn't throw away the "toe." So is it really missing?

Something tells me alot of people will consider this the episode that jumped the shark, if it wasn't the Compy being shotgunned one...
I kinda liked it, the first part was better, though.
6/10.

Haven't people been saying for ages that Homestar Runner has "jumped the shark"? To the point where one of the Brothers Chaps complained about it?

I certainly don't think Homestar Runner has jumped the shark. It hasn't even jumped the discount alligator.

Ehh. The return of the hushpuppies joke and the automatic hole-matting are nice. Otherwise.... pretty average.

The hushpuppy joke amused me more than it should of. This is due to the fact that I am from the South, and hushpuppies are a southern food (or at least the term is distinctly southern). The fact that TBC are also from the south instills me with an odd sense of pride. Also, Strong Bad saying the word "hushpuppy" is funny. It just is.

Just because they might be "amateur"(I guess that's what they're trying to say. Frankly, I don't think they are) animators doesn't mean that it can't apply. I can make some sketching, somewhat online, comic. If I have been doing it for a while(let's say, about two years), and did something completely outragious, or uncommon to what I'd usually do, and someone thought "Okay, that was really off. I think you kinda 'jumped the shark' there". That person has full right to think that.
IMO.
I'm not saying that they jumped the shark, I just think that some people might see it that way.

This was a great email, with a great ending!! I loved the paper being the middleman, and the deal the two forsaken computers made in order to retire gracefully. I also like the email the Tandy anwered, or rather, the way Srtong Bad answered it. Plus, the return of Homestars infamous Mountain Dew bottle rocked!!
10/10

You have full right to think it. But TBC have full right to think you're being too critical and not respect your opinion :p

I've posted something like this before, but I'm going to do it again. "Jumping the shark" is, by definition, as follows: a show (or other like serial program) is suffering a decline. The show's writers are no longer able to think of new ideas that fit their show’s format and are so desperate to bring back viewers that they completely deviate from the scope of their characters’ personalities or realistic experiences. This deviation causes the show to lose all credibility and believability and thus dooms it.

Happy Days was in a decline for quite a while before it “jumped the shark”. The tried some of the old tricks that shows use to revive, like adding new characters, and shooting in exotic locations. These tactics worked to some degree, but then they wrote in the episode where the fonz was to jump over a shark on water skis. The character was a motorcycle riding mechanic who the audience had never seen swimming, or even near a beach when suddenly this ridiculous plot was thrown before them! I thought it was even more ridiculous because they had him wearing his trademark leather jacket while water-skiing because their character profile said that he always wore it! They could ignore all character traits and experiences, but couldn’t have him take off the jacket!!

Here I come back to H*R, point by point:

H*R is not in a decline. As a matter of fact they are getting more and more fans all the time. Other evidence that they are still on the way up is that outside references keep growing in frequency, and that those making the references are becoming less and less obscure. (Mainstream culture is starting to notice!!)

TBC are not under pressure due to falling ratings. Some network, whose executives are breathing down their necks does not own them, nor are they suffering from some self-imposed pressure to get more viewers. They are having fun making H*R! That’s not to say that it isn’t work- it is, but when you love what you do the pressure just isn’t there.

TBC are not desperate for new ideas. Not every joke will be a work of genius, nor will every gag be totally and completely new, but I have seen no convincing evidence that the idea pool is getting shallow.

Finally, no character has done something out of character or outside of the believable scope of Free Country, USA.
Brittany Spears has not made an appearance, President Bush has not written a Sbemail, and Marzipan is not pregnant, so things are good! There is plenty of stuff still out there waiting to be made fun of!!

So, if you want to say that H*R is no longer funny or fresh to you…fine, that’s your opinion. If you say that H*R has “jumped the shark” you are throwing a catch phrase around without knowing what you are talking about and therefore lose all believability with me.

I didn't say I thought the episode "jumped the shark" I said it seemed like an episode that alot of people would have considered it to be(horrible grammar, I know).
This is why I don't come to the General topics anymore, people take me too seriously.

But just out of curiosity, if the President or some other high ranking government official DID write a SBEMail, and TBC answered it just because they thought it would be funny, would it still be out of character?

"Dear Strong Bad,

I was wondering, have you ever been chased down by a giant robot before?

Your friend, Arnie."

ROFFLE

I'd like to see President Bush write a sbmail. I'd post one, but I can't think of anything good.

Maybe the Pres Bush sbemail wasn't a great example, but if they did it just to gain viewers then I would put it in that catagory.

& to Alberto- I know that you didn't say it- I hope no one made that mistake.

They combined A & B into one really long e-mail, that's all.

Some changes in it, including:

Lappy's "toe" is missing throughout the email (originally, it was intact in part A)

Tandy's screen buzz from time to time.

The wheel on Compy is moving.

Strong Sad's act is added in the "Feats of Wonder" scene.

Originally, when Strong Bad concluded Jake's email, there were commas when needed, which was a goof, since Lappy's "toe" was missing. In the combined version, they took out the commas.

Oh, and some new Easter Eggs (click on Compy's contrast buttons and click on the Lappy in the end to see King of Town's act).

I don't like remakes, but I'll accept this as they made 2 emails in 2 days last week.

Anyways I liked how they added somethings to be more realistic.

Well, I didn't feel that it was worth it to watch the whole thing when I already have watched A and B. But, just a comment: It's long. Like, Bonus Stage long. Wait... NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! THE APOCALYPSE AWAITS! AND I'M NOT EVEN RELIGIOUS!

Since I haven't left comments for A or B, I'll say that A was really good, and B was... not up to the standards previously set by A.

I thought maybe Strong Sad's act would be B a bit better, but it wasn't very good either. Ah well. B wasn't terriblle, it just wasn't as good as A.

But I agree with just a username (DO you have a nickname? You should get one. Your name is too long), since they made two full-length emails last week, and added some things in this week, the minor update was fine with me.

I just want to point out that I totally called it. And do we really need three threads for what is now one email?

YES!

Anyways, I felt it was dissapointing to see this, as I was hoping for a new one, with lotsa Homestar. He's the star, and way funnier than Strong Bad. Strong Bad isn't funny. The people around him are funny, and it creates the illusion that he is, because others are, and he's with them. Same goes for Marzipan, and both no-talkers.

Man, this is now one super email. Seven minutes, seven Easter eggs, three computers. >_>

I actually liked the crazy feets of wonder. Maybe not as much as the first half, but I still found most of them funny. Good effort on adding to more. I think I like the KOT's more than Strong Sad's. But The Cheat's is probably my favorite.
