The first two branches cracked me up. It's great to see The Show again.

And Homestar in the water cooler... brilliant.

But the third branch wasn't too funny to me... but I enjoyed his little CGNU Dumple tent.

Yay, fireworks easter egg. ;D

Man, that was great. Some of those parts were hilariously random, especially the old timey song and dance. No Floppy Disk Container, but "Fourteen Times" makes up for that. All in all, a solid email.

OK, I thought the beginning was a little awkward I didn't like the The Show bit much, but the other three branches were awesome. Homestar in the water cooler CRACKED ME UP. I am SO glad I didn't see this one on the Wiki first, or else that would've spoiled it for me... I especially dug the Bill reference there at the end, and his talking Captiol Building head. It had a few issues with "flow," though. It seemed a little jittery. But the individual jokes were great, just not well connected.

I don't know why you guys pick out all of these silly things that you liked about the email like "Strong Sad was in it and that's always a plus..." when is Strong Sad ever a plus? And Marzipan, I don't understand why you are so crazy about Marzipan. Or Homestar in the water cooler or the "hilariously random" old timey cartoon part. I thought that the best thing about this email was the four branches parody which was really funny owing to the fact that it was a kind of word play. And why do you care so much that Homestar played a prominent role? I think that the branches thing was awesome, pretty much the most ingenious/aesthetically pleasing part. I liked how he said to call your local Homestarman and how Homestar sang "and that's how I become a law." It reminded me of US History, a pretty funny joke, pretty funny. I'm glad they are doing more of the old school word play. By that I mean more verbal, intelligent parody-style humor that is creative with cultural references. None of your random or minor characters crap.

Yeah, but part of the beauty of the whole site is the references to older cartoons. It's not that random; they also did an old-timey commercial for Portly Washboy and Fluffy Puff, The Show's been around for a while, so has the box Homestar stands on, they brought back his Dumple costume... that does make it more funny for the people who catch this stuff. It's not all cultural references and randomness.

These topics always include forum members recounting their favorite parts of the email, just as you did. But belittling other's opinions while elevating your own is not good forum etiquitte. And I happen to enjoy "hilariously random" humor moreso than "intelligent parody-style humor". Please don't refer to it as "crap", that's bound to just cause bad feeling.

That was a might fine e-mail, I reckon. I reckon I should also stop talkin' like one o' them thar cowboys.

*ahem* Anyway, Homestar doing what he does best (i.e. stupid stuff) was comedy gold right there. Or perhaps comedy jold.

Since I'm a shameless nerd, I actually enjoyed the "Joint Sub-Committee on So Stupid It's Smart-ities" ("That's Coulomb's Law!"). I also liked the daytime talk-show parody, and the Old-Timey "Polymascotfoamalate" propaganda cartoon.

And again, doubledeucemint, you need to lighten up.

Great SBemail. Like others have said, this email was superb for many reasons. For me, it succeeded because TBC referenced earlier work (CGNU's The Jolly Dumple, The Show, Dullard, and "Old-Timey" 1936 style).

I will somewhat agree with this argument, but I think most fans will comment that this is how Matt and Mike usually compile their toons. Of course their animations are random and may appear choppy or jittery, but that doesn't detract from their appeal. Do jokes have to be well-connected to be funny?

Wasn't holy-crap-best-episode-ever quality, but it had it's share of awesome moments. My favorite's probably "Man! Where should we go for lunch today?", for some reason. The topping adding on sour'd cream was good, too. Good prize.

edit: oh, there's fourteen of them now! Haven't seen the box around lately, good to see it's still increasing in quantity.

I know what you mean, and no, jokes don't have to be well-connected to be funny. I'm just saying it threw me off my balance just a little.

Have watched this several, several times now. Still cannot help giggling maniaclly every time I see Homestar in that water cooler.
