What emails do you people consider 'The Classics' - i.e. which emails do you feel are the funniest and are the sources of insider-jokes which are so important to 'sbemail'?

Well there's the obvious, "dragon", then, like "guitar", and "some kinda robot".
There's also "homsar", "army", and "flashback".

There's also probably a couple ones I missed.

Don't forget "japanese cartoon"! Of course when it all comes down to it they're all classics.

I went back and watched "Death Metal" recently. That one definitely deserves to be in the pantheon of all time great h*r cartoons.

I love Death Metal--one of my favorites, though I can't explain why. I don't even listen to death metal!

Kids book! An amazing one. I didn't really like the last two emails though...

Rock Opera. It takes everything SBenmail and sums it all up in one awesome toon.

Tape-leg.[/kidding]

I think homsar, invisibility, and animal were the most significant. Homsar, the Compy 386, and the Lappy 486 were introduced, respectively.

The only reason mine might ever be classic is the shirt... I love it, but it is the continuation of another inside joke *cough* cookie ingredients *cough*

What about COMIC, or "the email that inspired the Teen Girl Squad series"?

Also, let's not forget the every-50 emails: 50 EMAILS, FLASHBACK and ALTERNATE UNIVERSE.

Oh, and how can you forger VIRUS?

Anything on the podcast is probabaly considered a classic by TBC and a lot of fans...

I think "bottom 10" is most definitely a classic, definitely one of my favorites.

Some of the particular significant or classic ones imo, are homsar, i love you, sb_email 22, little animal, gimmicks, vacation, crazy cartoon, little questions, techno, 50 emails, japanese cartoon, dragon, kids' book, caper, stunt double, flashback, montage, virus, army, caffeine, rock opera, alternate universe, cliffhangers, retirement and more armies.

If I had to narrow it down a bit, I think homsar, japanese cartoon, dragon, flashback, montage, virus, rock opera, alternate universe and retirement are pretty important.

I don't think that anything on the Lappy is quite old enough to be considered "Classic" but rather "classic-esque", that is to say, "in the spirit of the classics, but not yet proved by time". Classic classics I say have this distinct feel to them, like Techno, Trodgor, and ones like Brianeretta and such like that.

Anyone follow and/or agree?

Good point. Keep in mind that "classic" is not the same as "influential". Most of the "classics" IMO, are ones with the classic email feel, and usually are fillers*, though they bring up a lot of inside jokes.

*By fillers I mean not important in the thin HSR continuity.

Hmm, I guess in that sense, you could say tape-leg is a classic as well. It's hated (I'm not really sure why... I didn't think it was any worse than any of the other old ones), but it will be remembered for getting a lot of hate. It also introduced tape-leg as a running gag.

Well, I don't know if this is considered a classic yet, but long pants is my all time favorite.

So the most recent e-mail that could be regarded as "classic" (excluding virus, as a matter of personal preference, since I hate it) is montage?

Nobody has mentioned "sisters" yet. ali, ali's sister... cmon, its totaly classic.
"Video games" is a good one, and so is "Fingers" just because we partially deal with the issue of the "how do you type with boxing gloves on?" epic question, WITHOUT actually answering it.

Otherwise, you guys have picked some winners!

I personally think the best emails are Rock Opera and Geddup Noise.

From Rock Opera:

'Solid jumble crazy beans double the real gold'

'Awesome, awesome fancy danish.'

'Awkward sweet peaches crackin' action!'

'Yup I totally always look awesome singing backwards metal.'

...I adore nonsense xD
