Well, the email iself was competely random, but played up the great (and silly) montages in stereotypical B-list movies. Couples falling in love, the underdog training to win against all odds... And did I mention I liked the music? And SB's voice in the begining sounded an awful lot like Cartman's. I know people here get riled up when people mention popular culture, though, so I won't say that this is the actual reference. PLUS! SB has a new quote on the email menu! PLUS! The DVD's out! PLUS! There's a new Coach Z shirt! How good could today get? (...and I got to post the first email post. Today rocks). Put on your dad's computer and we'll sail to paradise... That...was...awesome. So awesome. I really liked the one with Strong Bad falling in love with the Wagon Fulla Pancakes. It was so sweet seeing him so in love. But I loved all the montage cliches (especially the credit montage, with the subtitles. They should have done "Died in Vietnam"). I give it an 11 out of 10. |

Odd. It seemed that they made it up as they went, but it was still so random, it made me laugh. SB is surprisingly more romantic than I thought he would. The songs are funny, and The Cheat being a salesman was funnier, and the WFP knocking out Homestar was friggin hilarious. All in all, I'd give this an 8/10. Nowhere close to getting my coveted Golden Trogdor award, but still good. |

Wow, congratulations, porplemontage! If the wagon full of pancakes will be seen again in the future, you can always say it was your very e-mail which caused it's creation. As for the mail itself, I found it decent. It was funny but not so funny like the last one... Only thing I'm wondering, does the easter egg at the end really mean the end of The Paper is in sight? Do you think TBC will remember this mail in email #173? <edit> whoops, somehow missed the post above ^^; So, as we now have the chance to ask questions to the writer of an e-mail, did you actually think of the UNIX-command when you misspelled "creat", or was this merely by accident? |

At first I thought that this was a blatent rip-off of South Park. Thinking about it more however I think its probably NOT intentional. 1) Knowing that TBC aren't South Park fans, its entirely possible that they never saw the Asspin Extreame episode, or the montage in Team America: World Police. 2) The montages are not just "sports-training montage" in SP, but also the dippy falling in love montage, and the down on your luck montage. 3) This hacky cinematic device was insanly popular during the eighties, where much of TBC pop culture refernces are pulled. 4) The emailer quite possibly have gotten the idea from SP/TA:WP, and wrote it, the the concept of paroding a montage would of sparked TBC's imagination along the same line as Parker/Stone. (Can you confirm porplemontage?) 5) Hey, lets face it. Its just not their style. - edit - 6) Almost forgot.... SIMPSONS DID IT! |

Well, I usually go by porplemontage. So, I guess I just thought I'd throw in the word "montage" in an email. That was the only reference. Was the montage in Team America similar? Oh, and for TraV333, you might be onto something there. Maybe a fun fact is in order, but I'm not positive. |

OK, I was in Study Hall when I watched this email and people were talking so I didn't know exactly what was going on. I mean, I saw Strong Bad dating a wagon and I'm like "WHAT THE???!!!" and then I saw The Cheat with the wgaon so I'm like, "oh what...The Cheat stole her from Strong Bad?" I mean, I knew THe cHeat somethetimes steals Strong Bad's ladytypes, but...WAGONTYPES???
