I love the jab at "old computers must suck up more energy than newer ones". It was true in the 80s, but not for the lappy, which is clearly a 90s computer. Most computers in the early 90s then didn't even require a fan to cool the processor. Heck my First Pentium only contained a Heatsink. But it is a good joke, and after hearing the lappy's specs in another email... ouch.

I have an IBM Computer that probably costs me 30 bucks a year to operate. It's old, but it gets the job done.

What is it now, 2000 Watt power supplies? Quad Core Processors? Water cooling systems?

I do now realize that most computers now Throttle down "intellegently" when not in use these days but be aware that that technology is only recently commonplace. My IBM does have it, but it was rare then, in 2000.

I'm amazed the chaps did this e-mail. it's pretty "current event" and is borderline "political", which is very very VERY rare for them to do.

Tl:DR version: Old CPUS aren't energy hogs as many have claimed. the "energy hog" was everything else put on it, like Monitors. Come to think of it, the monitor was the worst of it.

I've kinda become more and more concerned about our environment and this one kinda made me a bit emotional. I wonder if a lot more emails and even some toons will be like this from now on.

I went to the Homestar site 2 seconds ago & it still says 12/17/07 & the email link goes straight to Nightlife, but Environment is listed in the Sbemail directory. Guess they forgot to update their frontpage info.

Sweet, 3 more points to my "strongbad hates marzipan" dabate. &...I get the feeling they're suggesting that thay already plan to replace Lappy. It'd be fun to have a nerdling debate on which of the worst computers of all time the Chaps will make fun of next.

Once again, :coachz: = gross.

No, it was updated. You just have to clear your cache. I had the same problem.

Great email! I'm too lazy to list reasons, but I'll give it a 4/5 (A 5 means I die while laughing so hard my parents hear).

5/5. I thought that was the end of the Lappy, but I guess not.

It was a bit too politcal for my taste. other than that amazing. A soggy hot dog is the most disgusting thing i can think of to eating, and the easter eggs in the easter eggs killed me.

Oh man, that's hilarious. What, do they read the wiki the day they release things or something?

It was funny, but not really funny. 3/5

I do like how it pokes fun at the whole recent environment frenzy.

Maybe SB's newest computer (provided, of course, it happens) would be as environmentally friendly as they come (maybe even include an energy logo label that parodies the Energy Star label).

This is one of the BEST emails EVER! Hilarious satire on the whole "green" craze.

Quote:
:sb: Wait. So, alls I got to do is take something I already do and word it differently so it sounds eco-friendly?

:marzi: Yeah, that's what we do mostly.
That pretty much sums it up.

I give it Five Trees outta Five. And a new, Eco-Friendly™ Sig Banner.

I liked this email a lot. I liked how it poked fun at the environment thing. Pretty funny.

this one was awesome. I wonder if AL Gore and his idiot green crew will have anything to say about it.

I liked it. I've always found environmental activists annoying, as they're just complaining rather than actually doing something. I also liked the list of "Okay for Mom" words. Very funny email.

I love Homestar playing the video game. I want a picture of him facing the screen with the "Please insert game pak, kid" on the screen.
Image

I also got a good laugh at the sog dog. "Drink in that bun."

I really liked this one, but i think some things could have been done better. Strong bad dropping the piano seemed like a kind of uncreative way to end that scene. Oh well.

Coach Z's Sog Dog made me laugh though.

Ha ha, Marzipan and Strong Sad are such hippies. I liked this sbemail because it can be really true for some people. I mean if you wanna save the environment then that's cool, but c'mon. Anyway, here are my picks for the best parts.

Strong Bad: How long did it take you guys to come up with-

Strong Sad: Three days!

"I'm about to win! Aww..."

Strong Bad's mega-bill

"...and it's got a picture of a little leaf on it, so you know it's enviro-friendly!"

The enviro-friendly New Paper

Solid sbemail! It's a great start to 2008.

Holy crap I had no idea there was a new email until now.

The Sog Dog made me laugh the hardest/most. But this whole email was like GOLD and stuff.

Second favorite part was probably the "Okay for Mom" list.
