Well, the email wasn't very funny, but the song itself was awesome. It's a great montage of all the Strong Bad emails.

All in all, 9/10.

T to the O to the TPD!!! :eekdance: :eekdance: :eekdance:

It was beautiful montage thing, it like reminded me how much H*R.com has been through!

So after some not-so-great-Lappy emails, there's finally a good email. In fact, I think this is better than animal, which was my favorite Lappy email! I liked the intro, but the best part was obviously the rock opera with the words from each of the 125 emails. The montage was cool, like Strong Bad with the hair, The Cheats extending and twisting, and Strong Bad at that dance club. No wonder this was released later than usual, this would cause a lot of work.

I wasn't so taken with Rock Opera - other than some interesting visuals, I didn't find it that funny.

My favorite Lappy email so far has been Radio... I laugh every time watching that one. SB sure has those styles down...

Post subject:  Doesn't have to always be funny

This email was extremely well made. TBC outdid themselves again as far as the visual style, references, parody of real-world concepts, and ability to stick to a wacky concept.

True, it wasn't funny per se, but that's because there weren't any jokes. I don't think the jokes were the point. I think the point was to see if they could do it (and don't you know the research had to take forever). In the process they created a masterful 'toon.

Somebody suggested this would be a good last email (PERISH the thought!), and in a way they're right. Just take a look a the page that lists all the words in their proper context, and it's like taking a stroll down memory lane. I can remember and enjoy all of the emails again in under a minute's time.

There was one truly funny--nay, hilarious--part of the email: when Little Strong Bad was making fun of Strong S..er..Anonymous for writing poems and calling the police without attributing himself.

Kids can be so cruel... that killed me.

Anybody else notice that when SB sings "Awkward sweet peaches crackin' action! / Wha-Ho! Problematic. / Solid jumble!" the beat in the background sounds strikingly like the intro beat from Everybody to the Limit?

When I saw the title of this week's email I imeddiately thought both "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Jesus of Surburbia", but alas no :(

It was still awsome though.

One word from every email, totally worth it.

8/10

Well, what can I say about this email. Very original concept, nicely put together, and of course as a fangirl who delights in obscure knowledge I was grinning at all the references. But in the humour department it failed to deliver, especially next to last week's masterpiece. When I saw the title I was expecting an actual musical with a storyline, so that was a disappointment. Having a random word from each email isn't so much funny as it is just "wacky", and it didn't really work. A+ for effort, but D for humour.

No wonder it took them so long. Man this was one good emai.

'Tis a GREAT email! Sure, it's not as hilarious as most, but just for effort, originality (kind of) and countless fun references, it definitely deserves to be up in my top ten list.
Best Parts:
"Yo Anonny! Maybe try calling the cops and giving them some valuable information to help solve a crime without revealing your own identity"
"Whatever action baby actually went jibblie."
"Like, fangoriously world-class and grand!"
(typing) "It's only a msyyer pd tun/ blegfr teh chekts"
(easter egg) "So I'm gonna have to jum-" (falls through ice)

Did you not see the post saying there was a giant thunderstorm in Georgia? You expect TBC to risk their entire harddrive and possibly even health over you?

Oh, and there was a ton of work that went into this one (music, etc.) I think that it was extremely nice of them to post the "email soon" message. That email was well worth the wait.

I liked the "email soon" message too. Makes you feel like they really care about you. *sniff*
I think it was worth the wait. One of the best emails, in my opinion.

One freakin' awesome email. Not insanely funny but very good, sort of like experimental film. After about halfway through I started recognizing some of the quotes. "Fangoriously" sounded, of course, exactly like in kids' book. "Baby"(video games), "toniiight"(dangeresque 3), and "ladies"(dreamail) were very distinctive. Prob in my top 30, maybe even top 20.

Would it be possible for anyone to make an MP3 of the Rock Opera or something? I desperately need this to listen to over and over.

I have the MP3 of this song, if you want it, PM me, and I'll get it to you somehow.

This email was one of the best I've ever seen, it made me laugh to tears...well worth the wait.

As for the Dangeresque egg, brilliant.

Ramrod: You can thank me, too, seeing as it was me who put that up for download in its originating forum thread.

mynameisbill must frequent other fan forums - which is a good thing as long as you "cite your sources" if you borrow (hotlink) files. I try to accommodate all requests for audio files of the most memorable sbemails - And despite some of the criticism regarding lateness on TBC's part, likely due to the hugenormous storm in Atlanta, I think rock opera stands as a very solid email. Of course it's not all that funny - that's not always the deciding factor in any sbemail.

To everyone arguing about which email each word comes from, they're all in order. And you do know we have a wiki, right?

Ahh, sorry then. I guess I owe you all the thanks for the song, and my friends will now hate you for making it, because I play it non-stop.

Before going to the Wiki, I played the song a few times to see if I could catch where some of the words were from. Here's the ones I figured out:

hundred* dreams picture double pants underdrawers ones action* consummate yeah fangoriously baby* tonight (both times) dancing famous ladies

(* indicates one where the visuals gave it away)

Anywho, I'm wondering if anyone noticed, the visuals have a sorta cut-and-paste style, almost like those "animutation" things(explanation at http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/animutation/). I get the feeling that's what they were going for. (psst...if you click the link, check out "Chocolate Niblet Beans," it's awesome)

You're joking right?

I certainly hope they were kidding. Rock Opera, it, well... rocked. The next Email, "Best Thing", would probably have worked better as a standalone Toon featuring Limozeen, rather than as a Strong Bad Email.
