Oh man, great email. Not as great as car trip, but great.

Definitly :trogdor: :trogdor: :trogdor: :trogdor: / :trogdor: :trogdor: :trogdor: :trogdor: :trogdor: (4/5 troggies), but not 5/5 because it ran too short. I don't want it to end!!!

All I have(sp?) to say is that the C.H.E.A.T. title screen egg was the best part of this email. Oh, and that this my first post here in months.

Good enough. It's nice to see everything back on form; I didn't care much for road trip. The balsa wood bit got a chuckle out of me, and the little shake Homestar does after saying "butt pat" stole the show.

OMG... The Garbage Pail Kids were realy popular in my Jr. High back in 1996. Good times....

My highschool banned Yu-gi-oh from the Otaku L33t Club for being poorly dubbed & "popular with n00bs." Rated as one of the 50 worst hack-jobs ever done to a series since the 70s. We made a temporary exception for the fansubed version. ::yes, we were total snobs::

Okey, totaly made-up trivia. What's the average episode span (in emails) between :homsar: appearances?

You banned Yu-Gi-Oh because it's badly dubbed? Um....right. You should never base an anime on it's dubbed version. I applaud you for watching the fansubbed version I suppose. But those subtitles are as bad as it gets. It was the only anime at Japanese camp we didn't mind not watching the subtitles with xD

The Japanese version is simply awesome. Except for Marik's freaking creepy tongue. That's the only thing I'm glad they edited in the English version. That tongue gave me nightmares T_T

Seto Kaiba's Japanese voice is so hot <3

does anyone else think that the butt-pat was due to how funny it was in the "stay cool" email?

It was a-prettypretty good. A lot of the things SB said about trading cards were actually true. (Such as being for little kids to play during recess.) And I'm glad to see 20X6 The Cheat on something other than the games menu for once. And those disgusting cards totally reminded me of the Garbage Pail Kids. (I never actually collected those cards, but I've seen them, and...ugh.)

Much relieved to see some classic parodic greatness after last week's tepid entry. I never thought I'd see M:tG and M.U.L.E. referenced in an email together. Very well timed for me, as this week I a) discovered the greatness of YGO: Abridged, and b) started playing Pokémon cards again. A-.

Who wants to bet that the next Weekly Sketchbook is going to be something of the Whatsit Pile Tikes?

Awesome email! I liked the referance to the E.T. ATARI game. The 20X6 part was great too. Cheatball FTW!

Rawk, rawk, rawk, rawk. 9/10, fo' sho'. And yes, the cheatball was absolutley adorable, but those "Whatsit pile tikes" cards creeped me out o_0 And rawk for the "Strong Bad bench pressing dinosuars" XD Heh, great. I also love SB's interpretation of what the Japanese card games are, to play at recess and skip excersize. XD

And rawk for the Magic refrence, though I don't play, my cousin does. XD

I thought it was boring and kinda lame. The strong sad cards were the highlight, and maybe homestar's butt wiggle.

I actually kind of liked this one--low-key but still funny, definately a Tandy-era feel. I believe my favorite bit was the Stinkoman's confusion over the object of the card games (as I myself have long been mystified by it).

Oddly enough, Coach Z's butt-patting record didn't bother me. Seeing him in that towel did.

Whole thing kind of makes me wish I collected cards as a kid. I collected pogs though...

Onna their best in a while. Cheatball cracked me up. I liked seeing Strong Bad and Homestar have a full conversation again; I can't remember the last time they did that. The dialogue between them is great. All the parodies were great, though.

I fan myself w/ dimetrodon

This is the first time they did two on two mondays in a row in a long time, isn't it? Maybe they've started making them weekly again. I hope so.

Well, we've finally seen what 20X6/Cheatball looks like. Also, I tried to play card games, but I got confused.
"Did I win?Does anyone know how this game works!?!?!"
I give it 8.5 pats on the butt out of 10. How you can get half a butt pat I will never know.

Click on "good graphics" when Strong Bad mentions them being invented, and you'll see a screenshot of "C.H.E.A.T." done in the style of the title screen for the E.T. game for the Atari 2600.

Well TBC may not have forgotten about Stinkoman, but they seem to be unaware of the fact that level 10 isn't out yet. Hope it comes out on October, since it's the 10th month.
So does Strong Bad like to answer emails from Canada now? He's already answered 7 from Canada on the Lappy now (counting the one from Sick Day). The recent ones were from 153 and 155, and I'll bet just one nickel another one will come in #159.
But what am I talking about? I should stick with something enthusiastic, like... I loved that email, that was stupendous! And it looks like Homestar finally zoomed to the right side in a comical fashion. Best improvement since No Hands on Deck, too.

I collected pogs though...[/quote]
Dude, I loved those things! We still have our huge set of a tournament board, the 50 state pogs (I think we lost one, though. Gotta be here somewhere.), about 20 slammers, and around 300 pogs. My brother even had a pog collection showcase.

Anyway, I really liked the Stinkoman scene. Being a fan of Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh and collecting cards for both, that scene was hilarious. And the numbers, too. Those were amazing. Can't forget the "(noun) GET!".

"Uhm, so, did I win? Does anyone know how this game works?"

Hilarious.

... Get.

I thought the butt-patting was a reference to "pep-talk" type sports coaches, I assume for Coach Z he considers it a very comforting and complimentary act - but to everyone else it seems creepy.

...My word, what a first post.

Ok, pretty lame. The email song felt contrived, the trading card gags not as sharp as they could be partly because Strong Bad didn't make any up. Rats! I thought I was one of the first to see it!

You guys have surprisingly low standards. I can tell by how much you like the king of town and Pom Pom's bow staff skills that you apparently think are in for "teh win." Sight gags or identifying with jokes simply because they are up your alley because you are an interior decorator are not as cool in my opinion as inventiveness and witty social commentary. Maybe he didn't baste the trading card comments with enough of that. The email seemed also kind of short and unsatisfying. They are basically using two things that they see as ingredients in a surefire recipe which is Strong Bad being creative by anticipating the funny stereotypes in what the reader is asking, road trip is a bad example, being creative with a twist of making fun of stuff in society like sitcom theme songs and Homestar coming in to refresh the joke by repeating it in some way. This one didn't have sharp enough gags, or..an Aristotelian arc or something. It didn't pan out, seemed clipped, made too little sense, and ended too abruptly.
