OK, here we goes again with the zombieeeeeez finally. I've only slightly tweaked the rules from Snailmail's last version, but if you have any suggestions for more tweaks, let 'em fly during the signup phase. Signups begin this second! GO!!

ZOG4

The fourth Zombie Outbreak Game is here! Like the second game used a lot of stuff from the first one, this one will take up most of the stuff from the third, with some little changes.

The zombies mutate from a disease. They will not make a human become a zombie, but just kill them. There is a type of leech, called a Hirudinea, which has the disease. Instead of killing you, it replaces your blood with the disease so you get zombified. Unfortunately, military response time is slow due to being stretched thin from other engagements, so they won't be in infested areas for 24 hours.

In this game, each player is given a different class.

Soldiers
About 20% of players will be soldiers to begin with. Your job is to protect all humans at all costs. After each turn, you must PM me the place which you would like to go in the map below. If you hide in the same place as a zombie, the zombie will be killed. However, if there is a zombie and a human there, you will try and protect the human, where the zombie will kill you. If you are in the same place as a Hirudinea, you will become a zombie.

Zombies
Another 20% are zombies to begin with. Your job is to kill all of the humans, not including soldiers. You have 24 hours (turns) to do so before the military comes and kills you. After each turn, you must PM me the place which you would like to go in the map below. If you search in a place where a human is hiding, the human is killed. However, if you search in a place where a soldier is hiding, you will be killed. If you search in a place with both a human and a soldier, the soldier will sacrifice his life for the human, killing you and the soldier, and protecting the human.

Humans
The rest of the players are humans. All you have to do is run, hide, and run again. Your goal is to stay alive for 24 hours (turns) by evading the zombies until help comes, or soldiers already in the city can kill them off. After each turn, you must PM me the place which you would like to go in the map below. If you hide in the same place as a zombie, you will be killed, unless there is a soldier there with you. If you are in the same place as a Hirudinea, you will become a zombie.

Hirudinea
There is 1 Hirudinea. Hirudinea are leeches. These leeches are not controlled by a human player, but have the area for them chosen at random. Anyone landing in the spot a leech is at becomes a zombie, including soldiers. This means the Hirudinea will stay in the game as long as it goes on, but it cannot win, because it is not human controlled.

Special Cases
If there are multiple zombies and soldiers on the same spot with a human, they will cancel each other out randomly. For example, if there are three zombies and two soldiers in a space with a human, the human will escape while both soldiers die and one zombie, picked at random, survives. The same for if there are more soldiers than zombies. If there isn't a human to protect, even one soldier will eliminate all the zombies.

The Way This Thing Works
*We need at least 10 people to start, but it'd work best with 14 or more.
*The game will be updated at least twice a week: Either Thursday night or Friday morning and Sunday night or Monday sometime (Eastern US time), so I need PMs by Wednesday night and Sunday morning so I can write what happens. If I don't get a PM, you'll be randomized.
*The humans win if they survive 24 hours (turns) or if all the zombies are killed
*Zombies win if all the humans are killed or zombified.

I'll sign up. But as far as new rules, I think that the greater number should win. And if 2 humans, and a zombie land on the same space, one human escapes.

It makes sense that if one guy's being eaten by one zombie, the other person should be able to run away while this is happening.. unless they're just standing there watching this like it isn't gonna happen to them... It might disadvantage the zombies too much, though, or maybe not (because the more humans are running around the more likely they'll be to run into the leech and get turned into zombies). I'll think about it. Thoughts from other people?

Maybe what we need is a d20 ruleset...

Also, I'm trying to think of a way that new people could join at any time without screwing up the game. That might mean redefining what "winning" is.

EDIT: OK, so I haven't had time to do anything with this. But I will some day, probably January 2 or so. When I get to it, I'm gonna be all decisive-like and just say what the rules are and get this thing going. I'm thinking the indecisiveness was part of the reason for the flop here.
