The year is 2084, World War III has been over for 15 years, WW3 was fought between Russian Communists and their allies (Modern-day terrorist countries, none of which are relavent). Before the war ended, the Russians succeeded in making a super-fuel, which by design was supposed to burn hotter and last longer, thus allowing quicker travel to space colonies on Mars (The colonies are built into rock faces that have water and oxygen inside). It was assumed that the test shuttle blew up on the launching pad, and the Americans take the formula for the fuel back and refine it some more.
The test shuttle nearly destroyed the launching pad on which it flew from, and was past Mars in mere seconds, barely enough time for the Mars station to pick them up with their sensors. Knocked out from the intensely fast launch, the crew awakens, only to discover that they are in the middle of a battle between the Sirians (Droid army, not necessarily evil, but very corrupt, many good people reside in Siria, and there is currently an underground movement to usurp the present government) And a fearsome species known as the Rokan (Cyborg, I have one built out of Legos, I'll include pics for the story). The Sirians win the battle and take the shuttle in, pretend to make friends, supply the ship with fuel enough to get them to Earth (Or possible take a Sirian craft). The Sirians then plot the trajectory, and follow the Humans, and take over Earth, enslaving almost the entire populations, only those in the Northern reaches are saved, and those on Mars.

Which brings us to the present. We are a highly skilled commando unit, made up of fighter pilots, called the Gemini. To sign up, give a brief overview of your character, please PM first.

RULES: (Borrowed in part from Operation: Storyteller)
1) Do not describe the actions of a Non-Player Character (an NPC) unless your character is interacting with said NPC.
2) Only describe the actions of your character, not other player's characters.
3) Do not suddenly give yourself gamebreaker superpowers out of the blue.
4) Stay in-character when conversing in-game. If you must break character, prefix your out-of character words with the <OOC> flag.
5) Describe your character's actions in the third person, except when you're quoting what your character says.
6) Keep it clean.
7) I am the Game Master, question or comments will be asked to me. MooKoo and Somm-1 may assist in this. (They aided muchly in creating the ideas that spawned this game)
8) If you fall idle and hold up the story without warning for more than a day, you'll be an NPC until you return.
Human Classes:
Demolitions: Skilled at the art of destruction, can use slightly advanced explosives from the start.
Marksman: Exactly what it says, a marksman.
Rifleman: A bit of both, can use some demolitions equipment, and can shoot pretty accurately, but not nearly so much as either of the above.
Has minor flight training.
Medic: Okay with a pistol, but his/her strength is in that they can heal injured party members, using basic medkits.
Engineer: Able to make simple weapons, such as spears. Can repair weapons. Has basic training, with both the rifle and pistol. Has minor flight training.
Pilot: Able to engage in a dogfight without getting killed, has minor training with rifles and pistols.

Sirian Classes:
Sirian Guard: The elite of the Sirian infantry. They are adept in both combat with a Sirian energy pike and Sirian battle rifle.
Sirian Mobile Gunner: Sirian equivalent of the Human rifleman, although they can move faster, but cannot use pistols.
NOTE: IF you ask me, you may create your own class, later on in the story, another race may arise.

Technology level: A few lasers have been invented on the part of the humans, but often use advance versions of the moder-day rifle.

Rokan overview:The Rokan are a warrior species, tall, and genetically, and in some cases, physically enhanced. Most Rokan have weak orb launchers implanted in their arms. (This will be added to as the experience with them grows.

Sirian overview: Slavers and droid builders, use droids for all combat, except for guards.
EDIT TO THIS: The Sirian Underground (The part people can play as) uses organics (Living people) only.
(MooKoo or Somm-1 [Preferably Somm] will add to this, and I will once we have more contact with them)

MARS: YEAR 2084 --- LOCATION: MILITARY BASE AND TRAINING CENTER, ALSO USED AS GEMINI HQ. PLANETARY LOCATION: 450 MILES SOUTH OF NORTH POLE --- TIME: 1100 HOURS

<OOC> My character is called Smeg O'Reilly. Rank: Colonel.</OOC>

Smeg O'Reilly was having a good month, he had been handed control of a new group of crack troops known as the Gemini. He now sat at his office, deep in the underground complex on Mars, awaiting volunteers.
*Tone coming from desk*
"Yes?"
Smeg's assistant answered: "Someone out here to see you, sir."
"Send him in."

<GM Note: First person to sign up is the one on the other side of the door>

A Captain holding a stack of papers, files, and a few datapads came through the door. In the typical military way, he introduced himself "Sir. Captain Jeffery R. Turbine - Space Marine Corp. Engineer: Robotics Research and Development" he stated "I'm here under orders from Lieutenant General Johnson." The Captain put the papers and files on the Colonel's desk. I have transfer orders for my engineering team, research data, schematics, and a few supply requisition forms. You'll also find the General's orders for you." He thought he had missed something, but he couldn't quite place it. Then he noticed the clip board in his hand. "Oh, I almost forgot. The guys in shipping need you to sign this." Captain Turbine did not mention why he was transfered or what the Colonel was signing for; what he did not know was that no one had informed Colonel O'Rielly of any of this.

Edit: Proof Reading

Colonel Smeg was surprised and confused at the man that came in the door. This was clearly NOT the man he was expecting. "What the heck is this about, Captain?" He said in a shocked tone of voice.

"I beg your pardon, Sir" the Captain replied "But didn't General Donald Johnson send any word of my arrival? I'm here to help you test the prototype on the field, sir."

Smeg got, if it was even possible, even more confused. "What prototype? I was not informed of anything, other than the creation of The Gemini." And then he added. "But of course they have to tell me that, even if they kept the entire war a secret from me."

"You received no word, sir" the Captain inquired "*sigh* Then allow me to brief you, Sir. For the past few years, we've been developing robots for the purpose of assisting soldiers on the front lines. Our most recent project is an android that can act as one of the soldiers. It's incredibly strong and durable. It's modular, so it can be fitted with certain types of integrated tools and weaponry, and it's also humanoid shaped so it can also use any standard hand-held equipment normally given to soldiers. The specifics are in the files I just gave you."

The Captain opened one of the files regarding Project: S.O.M.M. and continued "It's been programmed with the same training of real soldiers: Hand-to-hand combat, marksmenship, demolitions... Pretty much anything you would expect from a rifleman. Even more important, it's programed to be discrete about it's actions, which is more than I can say for the poor souls they mutated in the Super Soldier Project."

Jeffery paused a moment and continued "While the Self-Operating Mechanical Man is every bit as capable as the normal soldier, possibly even more capable, it has one major drawback; it costs more to contruct one than it does to sustain an entire company for ten years. We are hoping to correct that problem, but for now we have much to do in order to show that it's worth every penny."

"That's where Gemini comes in, sir" That Captain continued "You've been given orders from General Johnson to field test the prototype's effectiveness on the front lines. If it works out well enough, we may eventually be allowed to construct more. Complete platoons of Androids are a long way off, but it is our hope that there will be one in every riffleman platoon within the next 20-30 years. For now, we will see about one for each of the more important companies. That starts here, with Gemini."

[OOC:Could I inquire about being an engineer of some sort in this game? It looks promising enough. The engineer would have basic combat skills and be able to make make-shift weapons, etc.]

<OOC> I was planning on PM'ing Droideka about that. An Engineer could be like a medic with techno skills rather than first aid. </OOC>

"Ah. I hope it's as good as you say it is."He said, some what skeptical still "When do I receive it?" He started to fill out the authorization forms. He paused. "You'll be coming with it? You're responsible if it doesn't work. Got it?"

"Yes, Sir" the Captain replied "It won't let you down, Sir, I'm sure of that. Right now it should be in Cargo Bay 2. With your permission, I would like to set up a demonstration later... say... 1600 hours?"

"Very good, do you want just me or other members of the Gemini?"

<OOC> There are a few NPCs at the moment in the Gemini, around 6-7 at the present time, all of which are pilots or Demolitions </OOC>

"Well" the Captian thought to himself "I guess it would be best for the team to meet its newest member this way. Well, I suppose I should go make preperations, if I may, sir."

<OOC> Not sure who's supposed to go next, so I'll just go and assume you called me in <OOC>

Second Lieutenant Parley Wallace bumps into Jeffrey as he walks down the hall, stops, and salutes. "Captain," he says respectfully. He then continues down the hall. He knocks on the door at the end. When he hears "come in," he slips inside and salutes the colonel, and waits for what he has to say.

Smeg watched Capt. Turbine walk out the door.
*Tone coming from desk*
"Yes?" Smeg asked, as the door closed.
"Another visitor, a Second Lieutenant "Parley Wallace".
Smeg sighed. "Send him in."

The door opened, and Lieutenant Wallace walked in. Wallace saluted, and Smeg stood. "As you were." He said, and added. "Have a seat, are you here to join The Gemini?"

He talks as he sits down. "Yes sir, I am. I heard that Gemini was recruiting. What are the chances of me being able to join?" He clasps his hands, resting them on his lap.

"Pretty good, as long as your training is adequate." He replied, touching a screen to his right with a pen, then typing his name into the screen. "You served in the battle of Earth before?" He asked, reading what had come up. "And you got marksman training on base 386 on Earth, very impressive." He said, waiting for the response to his question.

Yes, that is correct. Now, all of my family members are slaves to the Sirians. I will do anything to wipe those slime out of the galaxy. What do I need to join? Paperwork? Any special training? Let me tell you, my training is more than adequate.

<GM's note: Don't forget quotation marks, it's not a big deal, but it's easier to distinguish parts from one another>
"This is more of what I had in mind." Smeg thought to himself, thinking about the Captain that had come in here before. "I accept, there will be a demonstration given by Captain Turbine in Cargo Bay 2 at 1600 hours. Dismissed. And thank you, we need all the men we can get." And he added as he rose. "If you happen to know any good riflemen, ask them to join."

"Yes sir." He stands, salutes, and steps out of the office. He heads toward his quarters, wondering what he will do for the next 5 hours.

<GM NOTE: Image
That's the part of the base that is currently relevant, there is also a medical station, as well as several labs and workstations. This base (Out of the six on Mars) Is the smallest, it's also the only one that does not train troops, it's mostly scientific, and in the case of the Gemini, it's the base for special military groups>

A youth in his late-teens to early-twenties stopped by the desk in front of the Colonel's office. He quickly put out the ciggaret that he had and inqured; "I'm Sargent Jeremy Withers. I'm here to see Colonel Smeg? My papers are right here." The lad spoke with a calm, noticable Brittish accent, his brown hair tusseled but not untidey, and his blue eyes alert and focused. Both went well with his light brown pilots uniform.

Smeg looked at the man that had rushed in the door, and the first thing he thought was: "I've got another one, looking for another adventure." He fought the urge to make a crack about him, and took his papers, noting that they were transfer papers. "Just a moment, have a seat." He said as he punched Withers' name into the touch screen to his right. "Training on base 2, test flew the Gemini Fighter series..." His voice trailed off. He rose, and asked him a question "Do you know what you will be doing?" He said. "Any idea?"

After being rushed into the room, Withers had givin a smart salute, and then stood at attention. When the Colonel asked him the question he replied; "No sah. I was told to come down here to be inspected for a possible transfer into some sort of special unit."

"As you were, Sergeant." He said. He motioned toward a chair across from the desk, while starting to speak. "We do what no one else can, we take nothing but the best, and failure is never an option." He then added "It looks as though General Brockington ordered you here." He said, signing the papers. "Send these back to him, I need you in Cargo Bay 2 for a demonstration at 1600 hours." He said, rising holding his hand out to shake. "Dismissed."

"Thank you sah!" Jeremy said, shaking the Colonel's hand. He then left for the Generals secretary, where he would drop off his papers.

Then suddenly a man busted through the door with a strange looking makeshift pistol in his hand, he had a gray cap on, gray jacket, and gray pants with a belt full of wrenches, screwdrivers, and the works. His name was Bryant McLain. There was yelling and quick footsteps in the background.
"You'll never take my position away!" yelled Bryant as he hid behind the wall, ready to fire, "I don't want to be part of this 'special unit'!"

Jeremy was just entering the hallway that led to general quarters when a crazed man being pursued by a few gaurds ran into the hallway that led to the officers offices. Sensing trouble, Withers ran after him with the gaurds, but he had already barricaded himself in Smeg's office.
"Blimey, why would we want this bloke anyway?" he remarked to himself.
