Crouching, watching the people as they converse, is a Goblin named Tek Piecetinker.
CRACK!

He stepped on a stick.

Coren (with all his feline prowess) took time off from whatever he was doing to investigate the noise. Then he came upon him.
"By the hand of Obad-Hai (his patron god) who, more importantly, what are you?" said Coren with his hand on the hilt of his sword, ready to draw.

Operation: Storyteller, we love you so.

As a way of commemorating this I would like to bring something that makes me embarrassed:

Then suddenly the wall busts through. Standing there is a anthromorphic cat. He is wearing a black cloak and carrying a big ole stick.
"Fear me and my big ole stick!" and he starts hitting random, not so innocent bystanders. "I want my money back on this necklace that my wife hates!" When there is no answer he continues to hit people. Then a kind old man walks up to him and asks of his name. "My name is Stick Cat, king of the northern feline tribe." The kind old man punches him, he is knocked out.

Marcus suddenly smelled something nasty behind some other bushes. He drew his sword and cautiously followed the scent.

"Whatta we got here, eh?" He asked himself out loud. "A monster of some kind...not quite a troll, but..." Marcus stopped. "A GOBLIN! C'mon outta there! Gimme somethin' easy ta fight! Just took on a dragon the other day meself!"

"Do not worry! We are your friends!" Out of the shrub popped three small goblins. The Leader, Tek, Stood up tall. "Well, Tall one, I am Tek. Tek Peicetinker, if you must ask. These two are my brothers, Rattletrap, and Plugspark. We had different birthnames, but we prefer these ones! We like enginerring things, and then selling our products! We're like MacGyver!"

"Uh, We agreed, No real-world refrences," stated Rattletrap to Tek.

"Oh crud, Right, Forgot! Oh, anyways, We saw you guys converse, and uh..We'd kinda like to..join your party? You know, be the technition or somethin'?" Tek boldly took a step backward, and reached under his cloak. "This, my good friend, is a bow. And arrow. You've probably heard of them. I'm experted at them. Rattletrap is good at distractions, and traps, and Plugspark...Has electricity. SO, Can we?"

While Tek was rambling on and on, Rattletrap leaned over and whispered to Plugspark "What a blowhard. He never shuts up."

Thurendel came out from behind a tree carrying an oaken staff in his right hand and holding a sapping in his left. He walked up to Coren and said: "Greetings, Coren. I am Thruendel, Archdruid and Steward of this forest. I've not seen the like of your kind before, stranger, but The Oakfather sees no malice in you, so neither do I. You hail from a far away place... a place, apparently, where no Druid dwells. I would send one of my apprentices there to watch over The Balance and to bring harmony there. If I can touch your mind, I can know the way there, that I might send an emisarry. Would you allow this?"

"Oh, yeah there's druids there. Not any of them like you though. They all serve some kind of "Balance" like you and live in the wilderness surrounding the our kingdom, but they look like me. I had to live with them for the first ten years of my life just so I'd be isolated from the rest of the island, you know, so no shame would be brought upon my father. I was actually going to be a druid before the rebellion, I had been taught by them all my life, it only seemed natural. I was only 10 though... And, umm... touch my mind? Whatever." replied Coren. [OOC: You see, the druids were originally elves before the Great Cataclysm and over time they taught it to the cat-people, but then after the Great Cataclysm, you know.]

Just then, Captain Sealem came up from his tent and said: "What's all the comotion... and what's with the Goblins?"

Maxwell said: "It's all right. We've got some new joiners."

<Gm's note: Introductions ensued all around.

Short history of the expidtion up to this point for those of you who are new:
Maxwell and Farnham, two brothers, put together an expidition in the city of Glenarbour to go and slay a Dire Wolf that had previously ate Farnham's girlfriend. Drek, Marcus, and Micheal were the original three who joined up. The party set out, encountered a Ogre Mage and his company of brigands, and defeated them. They then pressed on to a logging town where they met Prosper, Tem, and Auriel. (and one other who I shall not mention because he left and probably isn't coming back). They encountered a Drow Illusionist/Psionocist who tried to trick them with mind-games, but Prosper luckily saw through his illusions.

Drow 0, Party 1.

Shortly therafter, Propser was kidnaped by The Drow, but was Rescued by the elves of Suldeneselar, and Propser got to meet the Suldeneselarian Emperor and received an amulet that protects him from Drowish Magic.

Drow 0, Party 2.

He was assigned a Bodyguard (Captain Sealem) and sent back to Maxwell's party, who had encountered another group of Drow and defeated them, and were at the gates of Taros, a frontier town. Meanwhile, Marcus had managed to get posined with Gnomish Tea and needed the services of a Herbalist (which didn't come cheap).
However, the party again encountered that same Drow Illusionist/Psionosist who had mind-controlled the Targos Town Watch and was using them to try to attack Maxwell's party. Tem, however, defeated the Drow Psionocist and the party freed the Town Watch and killed the Drow. They were hailed as heroes by the townsfolk.

Drow 0, Party 3.

After meeting Eruntian and Taryn, they were attacked by assasins, kindnappers, an army of Orcs & Drow, and the Dire Wolf itself. All were defeated (although Sam's Tavern burned down and Eruntian experienced a nasty side-effect of his ring's power.) By the way, The Archwizzard of Suldeneselar aided the party against the Orcish hordes.

Drow 0, Party 8.

Then, the party decided to head to White Dragon Peak to get Eruntian's ring fixed. The Drow sent two Umber-hulks and a bunch of Zombies at them, but their evil plan failed.

Drow 0, Party 9.

On the way to White Dragon Peak, the group was tracked down by a group of Drow commandos who sprung an ambush on the party, but they only managed to wound a few and to drug (but not kill) Eruntian. Sadly, they also killed all but three of the Elven Swordsmen that were assiugned to aid Captain Sealem in guarding Prosper. In his druged state, Eruntian started to babble are sorts of silly things, including calling Auriel his Mother. Meanwhile, Drek made friends wil a Golden Eagle, who he claimed as his Animal Companion (a sepcial ability of mid-level Rangers). He named the Eagle Goldwing. Acedia discovered that her medalions had hither-to untapped power. Micheal gained access to meta-magical abilities and became an NPC.

Drow 0, Party 10

The Party then encountered a Brownie who told them of the Pixies and their distress. They soon found the Pixies, and discovered that the local Druids had become mind-controlled by a Red Dragon (except for Thruendel The Wize, who had managed to resist and flee), thus leaving the Pixes without ,much protection. After a hard-fought battle, during which both Marcus and Erutian both almost died, the party managed to slay the Red Dragon.

Dragons 0, Party 1

The Pixes gratefully threw a feast in honor of their new heroes. Thurendel offered to Treewalk the party as close to White Tragoin Peak as he could get them. The rest you know if you read back a few pages. 'nuff said.>

Tem licked his tentacles at the thought of intelligent brains like the goblins. He came up right beside Coren and Marcus. "I'll help you kill 'em if you leave me the brains.... AH-HA-HA-HA ohh... no, I'm just jokin' with you, you're alright."

Meanwhile, On The War Front...
Reaver madly slashed at a Drow with his knives, turning it into chum. He then used his own special brand of telekinesis to dash accross the field, holding his knives out, impaling Drow and Dark Flayers alike in a blody mess, to the camp. Despite being extremely aggressive, Reaver was on recon. "How did it fair?" said Ancorad.
"The Usual. Reaver sprinted accross the battlefield into territory, stole everything that wasn't nailed down, big, or on fire. Nothing much. Reaver grows hungry now, so Reaver shall go back to the battlefield. Tem was right in making you commander. Reaver likes you."
Even though Reaver spoke in the third person, he was actually intelligent. It was just in a freak accident several years back, he bramaged his dain, inhibiting his speech, but leaving his thoughts uninhibited.<ouch. I haven't written so much in a long time.>

Eruantian decided to tell the rest of his story.

"I was ashamed of myself" he admitted "Ashamed of what I was and of what I had done. All I had left was that ring, much like when we left Targos. I had not shown it to anyone since then. I did not even wear it for years."

"I followed a caravan to Targos, which is where I lived ever since" Eruantian recalled the events after the incident "Sam, the bartender, was kind enough to give me a job in the kitchen. For years, he was like a father to me. He didn't know it, but was thanks to his cooking and catering lessons that I eventually found a practical use for the ring."

"Everything I had known was gone, so I looked to the unknown" Eruantian stated nostalgically "I learned elvish and I studied as much about Suldeneselar as possible. I even studied myths of Arctic Elves from the coldest mountains of the elvish empire, who I thought to be my real ancestors. Books are expensive and hard to come by, but I didn't care; I had to know."

"And then all of this happened" Eruantian remarked in aggitation "Everything was taken away from me again. I never knew my real parents, I killed my adoptive parents, the life I built for myself in Targos burned down, and the two decades I lived in the ring's arctic realm never happened. In any and every case, the ring was all that survived."

Eruantian came to a realization. He stood and pondered "Perhaps... Perhaps such is my lot in life... Yes, I realize now that my life is unimportant. The reason why I can't make a life for myself, why it was all taken away again and again, is because it's not about me. It all revolves around the ring."

Eruantian grimly determined "It's time I stopped hiding in some house, living a fantasy, or moping around due to my losses. When I get the ring back, I won't rest until the Drow are stopped, even if it kills me. I have nothing left, so I have nothing to lose; nothing to live for."

Edited: Accidentally left out a word.

{ [late] HAPPY HUNDREDS-PAGE!! -confetti- [/late] }

Taryn had taken it upon herself to keep Acedia from "playing with" (read: mauling the crap out of) Coren. With the appearance of the three goblins, the spectre's job suddenly became marginally more difficult. Goblins, you see, are quite fun to chase. And then maul. But mostly chase.

Acedia took a few deep breaths and kept her hands firmly behind her back, pressing against the medallion implanted there just above her tailbone. Pressing against it hurt a little, and this minor pain served to keep Acedia alert and just slightly more in control of her restless lupine alter ego.

Seeing that Acedia seemed to be fine for the moment, Taryn stepped forward and spoke to the goblins. "Hello," she greeted, looking down at them. "You've been out in the open with us for more than five minutes and you're still alive. I guess that means you've joined our party. Welcome. I'm Taryn. That lady in red over there is Acedia. Don't talk to her just yet unless you feel suicidal."

{ Also, Sarge, muchos typos in that little plot recap post...annnd you failed to mention where Acedia came in. o_O I don't remember which tavern she joined the group at...the one at the logging town, I think. It's not really that important of a detail to anyone but me, though >.> }
