<OOC> Sarge, you REALLY ought to learn how to spell my name. E-R-U-A-N-T-I-A-N You have a very consistent tendency to drop the first "a". I understand the other members of the party having comedic difficulty pronouncing my character's name, but you're the narrator. You're like the master of all time and space. Surely the master of time and space should know how to properly spell someone's name. TotPD </OOC>

Prosper saw the flail coming, but too late. He felt, rather than saw, it lurch into his side, and then lurch out again. He felt hot blood spill onto his leg. Marcus was at his side, saying he was sorry. "It's... alright... I guess." the boy grunted though pain-quenched teeth. "Just watch... watch where you sw- swing it.... next time." |

"I'm so sorry," said the Lizzard, "I just got that thing and it's kinda hard to get used to. Sometimes I don't even know what my own tail is doing when there's nothing on it!" He grinned awkwardly. "Let's just stay put right here until the rest of the fight dies down. Good thing this kilt is red; hides the blood real nice." |

The fight went well, and quickly. These bandits may have been good shots with their crossbows, but in a close-up fight they were hopelessly outmatched. <GM's Note: The bandit-in-black (Mr. Treeleaping Ninja-type) got away with Eruantian, but Coren is still on his trail. One of you guys captured a bandit and can begin interrogating him.> |

Eruantian didn't know what was worse, his fear or his confusion. Either way this situation was going from bad to worse. Not only was he captured and restrained, but he was apparently being taken for a very bumpy ride to who knows where in the clutches of who knows who. And as if that wasn't bad enough, Eruantian could have sworn there was something crawling around in his shirt. |

Andrew lost the bandit of black cloth, so decided to do what he was ordered...to do interrogate the bandit he captured. "Okay I want some answers about your group, why you attacked us and the bandit covered in black cloth and believe me, it will be much easier for you, if you answer right now!" said Andrew, and his look had made it obvious he was not in the mood for jesting. |

"Please don't hurt me! We was hired to attack you's, but Mister Thorn didn't say why. He just said we're not to harm any half-elves. He paid in advance, and said we'd get a bonus if we killed any of you's. But he lied, said you were all easy marks, inexperienced hunters is what he said. Well, you ain't know hunters: You's them heroes of Tarogs I heard about, for sure. I mean, how many outfits can there be that's gots a mage, a lizzardman, a spectre, a couple elves, a shapeshifter and a set of high-bred brothers in it? Well, I knows when I's been double-crossed, so I ain't keen on protecting him. I'll make you a deal, than: I'll tell you what his face looks like if you let me live so I's can warn the other members of my guild to not take any more contracts out on you lot." Maxwell looked up: "Half-elves? Why would he..." A look of horror came over Maxwell's face. He looked around quickly: "Where's Erunantian? Where's Auruiel? Dammit! The attack was probably just a distraction. Anyone who'd hire these bums to kill us must have known that they wouldn't be a match for us, but they'd serve nicely as a distraction while our foes kidnapped Eruantian and Auruiel! Micheal, quickly, do that astral-space thing of yours. We've got to find them before they get to far away!" <And yes, Auruiel has also been kidnapped. Just so you don't think I've forgotten about her.> Micehal said: "Right! Projecting into astral space...." And with that Micheal sat down on the forest floor and fell into a trance. Captain Sealem said: "Tell you what, you follish little man. You tell me what your employer looks like and you'll only loose your thumbs." The man, now scared out his wits said: "But I like my thumbs. I need my thumbs. I'm very attached to my thumbs." Captain Sealem smiled and said: "In that case, you can keep your thumbs, I'll just cut your balls off." The now pasty-faced man saidl "Right-o. Off with me Thumbs, then." "Talk!" Came the reply. "Mister Thorn is a master assassin. He's missing his nostril... It's been fused to the rest of his face. Said it was a result of an acid splash. 'E smokes Turbish cigars and drinks Quitulian brandy, exclusively. Walks with a cane, but he doesn't need it. It's just for show. And he's always dressed in black... even on the hotest day... nothing but black." Seconds later, Micheal stood up: "Well, that was easy. Not hard to track those two. They're lit up like the sun, astraly speaking. So much mana being pumped into their abductors even an Acolite could spot them. They're being moved to the base of White Dragon Peak, being carried by a pair of humans who are magically enhanced, and they're moving really fast. The good news is that Acedia is shifted into a rat and clinging to that one, so that makes them doubly easy to track and we'll have some help when we meet them. At least I think it's her. I mean, how may human females shifted into rats can there be in this forest? I'm betting it's her. If oor good friend the Druid here will treewalk us quickly, we can be right in their path and catch them before they get away." Thurendel said: "No time to loose, then. I'll treewalk you now and send your things along after me and the pixies pack thing up. Stand close together... Chop-chop went the bandit's knuclkes, sceaming in pain went the bandit. "My thumbs, my beautiful thumbs!" Captain Sealem said: "Let that be a lesson to you! You tell your fellow thieves-guild members what kind of hard-edged fighting men we are. You tell the assasin's guild that a contract on us is a sucide mission and you tell them we're not worth taking on. You hear? Now get out of hear before the pixies turn you into a tree! Go!" Thruendel raised his staff and said: "The ballance is served" And suddenly the whole party was part of the trees and plants. It was the most bizzare experience. They could actualy feel the sap flow, the leaves move, the branches moving. It didn't hurt, but it was somewhat... unnerving. And then, an instant later, they all emerged from individual trees. The party was now at the edge of the forest. A buffer zone of about a yard and a half of scrub-brush and smaller plants stood in irregular row between the edge of the treeline and the foothills of the Kel-Dorn Monutain Range, caped in the center by the magestic sight of White Dragon Peak itself, in all it's glory. Tall grass could bee seen covering mush of the hills, but it got quite rocky and steep after that. Micheal stepped out of a spruce tree. "Has anyone seen my lower intestine? Because, if you have, could you ask it stop doing the tango with my stomach? Aw man, remind me not to astrally perecive when treewalking. Apparently druidic and thamutological magic don't mix. I'm gonna be sick." And with that, what little breakfast Micheal has eaten that morning came up all over his nicely-pressed tunic. He fell to his knees, wretching. Everyone else felt fine, though. |

Tem noticed the bandit meatshield he had was gone. Oh well. "So, if that weird... thing that took Eruantian and Acedia has a base, I think we'll need to get them before we go to the peak." he said, "I'll try finding him on the Ether, then I'll tear his mind apart from the inside out. He'd deserve it after all... oh yeah, and Sealem, if we find the body, I call dibs on the head." |

"Farnaham!" Prosper called weekly. "Horrin!" The boy was trying to get help, because no one else had noticed his current condition except Marcus. And the fact that he had just taken a ride though a forest's root system didn't help eather. |

"HEY MISTER MAXWELL!" Marcus bellowed. "GET OVER HERE! I hurt the boy by accident." Marcus knelt down next to Prosper's side again. "Lessee if the bleeding's stopped." He unwrapped the seven yards of red tartan from the young man's torso. "It's just bleedin' a little bit. You just need some fresh wrappings." Marcus looked up to Maxwell. "Got any clean stuff to wrap around 'im, Mister? I don't like getting too much blood on my kilt." With that he wrapped it around his waist again. "I'll wash it in a day or two. Can't be too hard to get blood out, can it?" |

Coren was still pursuing the guy. "He's so fast... How does he do it? I can barely keep up..." Coren thought. Then, distracted by his own thoughts, he rammed into a tree. "MREEEOOOOOOW!" he squealed and fell to the ground unconscious. |

"I've probably got something that will serve for bandages," Taryn piped up, walking over to Marcus and Prosper and withdrawing a length of cloth from her Bag of Wonderâ„¢. "Though we may want to try and see what healing magic can be done first," she added, upon seeing Prosper's wound in all its glory. "What did you do to 'im, Marcus?" Meanwhile, Acedia was just kind of trying to calm herself down within the tight and rather unpleasant confines of Eruantian's pocket. When was the last time he'd washed these pants? Really, now. |

When was the last time he'd washed these pants? Really, now. Eruantian's pants had been cleaned the day before he had joined the party; any change of clothing he owned had burned with his house. Much to his displeasure, whatever had been crawling around in Eruantian's shirt had apparently decided it liked his pants better, even despite the lack of much-needed laundering.

Horin came up to Prosper and said: "Easy now, lad. I'll have you fixed up in a jiffy." He cast Cure Moderate Wounds, and suddenly Prosper's wound was gone. "There. How's that feel?" Micheal, now finished throwing up, said (somewhat weakly): "Well, I can see we're in position to intercept the kidnappers, and they should be here in about five minutes. Sheesh, those guys move fast, jumping from tree to tree... Man, I gotta learn that spell. Eruntian and Auriel aren't dead, just kidnapped. Looks like our quarry wants them alive. Must be related to the Ring somehow. Only question is, what happened to Coren? He wasn't with us when we ported, and I didn't see him on the Astral. Hope he's OK." Suddenly, a group of Pixies materialized. The pixes said: "Oh good, they're here. Well, most of them anyways. OK, guys bring it in." A beeping noise, like a truck backing up, was heard, and then Horin's wagon, piled high with tents, pots, pans, and assorted adventuring gear was pulled though a tree by Horin's horse, lead by a pair of pixies. A pixie was seated on the wagon, shouting: "Wheee! Horsey ride! (insert giggling noise here) OK, all done. Bye, bye, nice people." The horse looked somewhat perplexed, but was otherwise none the worse for wear. Then, the pixies vanished. Maxwell said: "Well, Thurendel is a man of his word. And those pixies sure work fast. OK, guys, grab whatever extra stuff you need stuff for a fight, and lets set up an ambush for them kidnappers, eh?" Micheal said: "I figured I'd just Colourspray the heck out of the kidnappers, but that would mean you'd all have to look away and that's probably not a good thing considering someone has to catch our kidnapped friends." Farnham said: "Yeah, we wanna rescue them, not get them killed. You got any sort of webbing or netting spells in your spellbook?" Micheal shook his head: "Sorry, no. How about you, Horin?" Horin replied: 'Nay, laddie. But I think if we wait for them in the open we turn the situation to our advantage. No more trees to jump from there in the tall grass, so unless they can fly they'll be forced to run and not jump. Well, nothing slows down a running man like a hammer to the face, let me tell ye! Especialy when that hammer is hiding in the tall grass and a dwarf is swinging it. Augh, this will be fun, methinks." |

Samuel woke up, dazed. he remembered a fight... and bolts flying at him... he looked at his arm. A scab had formed over the majority of it. He stood up and looked around. The area was barren. "Dang..." Samuel muttered. "I missed them." Trusting his instincts, he headed off, in search of the crowd of people he saught after. Luckily, His grandfather was a half-wolf, so he was very fleet of foot. Eventually, he saw the sillouette of a crowd on the horizon. With a grin, he made his way up to them. "Hey... from what I could tell, you guys are pretty good fighters. Hey... if you don't mind... could I follow you guys around? I hear you're headed to White Dragon Peak. If you want to know why I'm headed there... well, you'll find out in due time." |

Taryn shook her head. "Waiting here is a better option. It gives us more time to come up with a strategy. And it also lessens our chances of missing the targets completely. Sit on the floor and let your feet hang down - figuring that one out should keep you entertained for a few minutes." |

"I dunno how else I can hold this," Marcus said, cradling the flail in his claws, "This sword was made for two claws, not one. I'm not a good kicker, so I guess my tail's the only place I can put it. Guess that's one of the good things about being a Lizzardman, eh?" He smiled. "I don't think I need anything else for the fight. Maybe if there were some big ol' rocks or logs around I could give these muscles a good workout. But I think I can take these guys on. Whatever they are." |
