Eruantian, being unconscious, dreamt he was back at Sam's tavern, sitting at the bar. On the seat to his left was Horin guzzling down pint after pint of what appeared to be
Black Ale, which the mayor of Targos banned two years before. To his right sat Drek feeding meat to his Eagle. At the other end of the room sat Maxwell, Farnham, and Captain Sealem at a table. The barmaid serving them was Taryn

, and the tray she served them with had Tem's head on it.
"What'll it be, pal" asked Micheal, who seemed to be the bartender.
"Where's Sam" Eruantian inquired.
"Sam's not here today" Micheal replied "What'll it be?"
"What's going on here" Eruantian questioned "None of this is right"
"Of course none of this is right" Micheal responded "That's the whole point"
At that time, Eruantian walked through the door. To be more precise, this was a different Eruantian. This was Eruantian as he was before the party came to Targos: fully equipped, fully clothed, and bearing his ring on his necklace. The other Eruantian placed a couple of blocks of ice on the floor.
Eruantian, the first one, was shocked and confused in ways that words can not describe. He got up from his seat, walked over to Eruantian and demanded "Just who do you think you are?"
"I'm the ice delivery man" Eruantian responded "Just who do you think
you are?"
"That is MY job" Eruantian exclaimed.
"This
was you're job" Eruantian retorted "Not anymore. Don't you have something more important you should be doing?"
The Eruantian with the ice left for his wagon, while the first Eruantian stood there, wondering what he meant. "I don't understand" he stated.
"Have you forgotten everything" Micheal said, though it wasn't Micheal. Micheal, Horin, and Drek had been replaced by people Eruantian knew during his trance after his encounter with the Dire Wolf.
"Do you not remember what I taught you about surviving in the wilderness" questioned the Arctic Elven Ranger. "Do you not remember what I taught you about how to fight" questioned the Dwarven Defender. "Do you not remember what I taught you about mastering the power of your ring" question the Ice Mage. They all questioned at once "Have you forgotten everything?"
The inn vanished and only Eruantian and the three arctic men remained in a black void. "You are foolish to think you have nothing to lose, Eruantian."
"What do you mean" Eruantian inquired "I've already lost both sets of parents, my home, and every possession I've ever had. What's left to lose? There is nothing left for me - it's all about the ring now, I'm not important."
"You realize that defeating the Lolth and the Drow is more important than your own selfish desires" the mage stated "You realize that the ring is the key to saving both humans and elves. You realize that this is the time for action, rather than wallowing in self pity."
"But what you do not understand..." he continued "... is that you have much more left to lose than you have already lost."
"What do I have left to lose" Eruantian disbelievingly questioned.
"You still have us, Eruantian" said Aurieul as she walked forth from the dark void "You still have me. You have friends, Eruantian, friends who care about you. If you are careless, you will lose us too." Aurieul faded into nothing.
"What you do not understand..." the Ice Mage started again "... is that you are not the ring's slave, but its master. The ring serves you, just as it has served your family eons before your time.
Eruantian could see something in the distance. It looked like a stone pedestal with a faint blue glow around it. As he walked toward it, he noticed that something crunched under his feet. It was snow. He was on a mountain, like one he had explored in his trance. He approached the pedestal and saw a ring in the center of it; his ring.
He ran over to pick it up, when the Ice Mage appeared on the other side of the pedestal.
"The ring is not merely a trinket" he stated. Eruantian had the strangest feeling; it was as if there was something he needed to remember... Something that had been said before...
"The ring is not merely a trinket" the Mage stated again, then it began to come back to Eruantian.
"It is my closest ally and my greatest weapon" Eruantian responded.
"The ring has powers beyond your comprehension"
"But that is power that I command"
"The ring has existed for years beyond count"
"And like me is the living legacy of my fathers before me"
The mage smiled and said "Reclaim your ring, Eruantian, and use it for the good of your kind, both men and elves"
As Eruantian put his hand forth to take the ring, he regained conciousness.
<OOC> Sarge should describe Eruantian's current predicament.
