"But I've never teleported more than myself!" said Tem. His crossbows then disappeared in a puff of 'fake'. |

Sarge wrote: Auriel had now been removed from her cage. She was unchained, untied, and then picked up by a Bugbear. "Mmmm not much meat. Too thin. Huh. Fatten up first. Master not mind. Taste better more fat. Yum. Humm hu!" It then started saying something in Gobliniod, the gist of which Auriel didn't catch. She was rudely shoved into a holding pen with a goat, two pigs, a pair of rabbits, and a turtle. Then, the bugbear got into an argument with a female bugbear. This quickly degenerated into a brawl, and soon a crowd had formed to watch the fight. In short order, nobody was watching Auriel. Luckily for her, they hadn't searched her very well, and they had missed her lockpicks and her thieves tools... If she could just pick the lock and get out without releasing the farm animals....
Aurieul herself had almost fainted when the Bugbear picked her up. Lucky for her she didn't as she would have missed her opportunity for escape. She carefully picked at the lock, but it was slow going as the various animals kept getting in her way. |

<<Sorry guys, it's been super-extra-busy at work lately and I haven't had time to post. It's like there was a perfect storm of tech issues: Flooding in some of our rural service areas, a major cable cut thanks to some idiot with a backhoe, and an unexpected server outage... all on the same day. Add in all the new customers signing up for back-to-school and the phones have been going non-stop here at customer support. Should die down a bit soon. Must sleep. Work again tomorrow. |

<Ok, whatever.> Prosper was dodgeing and weaving through the bugbears, stabbing and blocking as he went. The creatures were huge, and he wasn't sure how much longer he could hold them off, it seemed that when he killed one, another one was in it's place. And there were more coming! He hollered to Tem, "Well try something! Just focus on Micheal, or grab him and teleport! ANYTHING!" |

Tem pounced on Michael, and teleported to... anywhere! The strain on Tem's body was enormous, but he teleported to the second cave base. His last vision was of Michael; his last conscious thought was 'how'd I survivethat...that...that...? |

Micheal was a little disorientated, and it took him a few seconds to realise where the cave entrance was. He cast Power Word: Blast, and suddenly there was an huge explosion that collapsed the cave entrance. Just then, Eruantian was bracing himself for the oncoming chariot... that he couldn't see yet... but suddenly there was a large rumbling sound and the ground shook. The noise of the chariot wheels and the horse-hooves on stone stopped. Chezzo said: "What the heck was that?" Meanwhile, Auriel was quietly making her escape. She had managed to get the lock picked and the cage open, and she slipped out of the cage and into the shadows. This being an underground cavern of some sort, there were plenty of shadows around, and this made it easy for a rouge of her skill level to hide herself. |

"Chezzo" Eruantian said "Now would be a good time to tell me anything useful should this get ugly: Aclabar's powers, my ring's powers, useful tactics against... whatever his gaurds are, anything." |

Chezzo said "Aclabar is a powerful Ogre-mage. From what I've seen, he has an extensive spellbook, mostly consisting of combat-oriented spells that do fire-based damage, but he also has some illusion-based spells, at least one polymorphing spell, and an innate ability to dominate lesser minds. He has a personal bodyguard consisting of five well-trained and very loyal Ogre warriors, and an army of thousands of badly trained and mentaly dominated Bugbears. His real base of operations is deeper in the Underdark; this is just an outpost. See, these mines are old iron-ore mines. I don't know who originally built them, but they ran out of iron-ore out years ago. Aclabar took them over a few months ago and set up an outpost here so he could search for the ring closer to the surface. He'd been searching for the ring long before his brother got killed, and after what happened in Targos he decided to move closer to the surface because he suspected that the ring might be involved. Anyways, I know the layout 'casue he had me delivering messages all over the place. It's a vast complex of tunnels and caverns. There's even a passage that leads deeper into the Underdark, but I was never sent there. That part is gated off. Aside from that one gate, the rest of this place has no doors or anything like that. Bugbears can't see in the dark, so they have set up a lot of torches and pirepits to help light the place. As for tactics... well, your ring can command a vast array of magical powers. He didn't share all it's abilities with me.... in fact, I don't think even he knows the extent of it's powers, but from what I understand, there's very little it can't do. You just point it at your object of interest and tell it to do something... and it does it." |

Aurieul tried to use her head. She figured she could get back to the room where she was first caged, but from there she wasn't certain. Her eyes had been closed until she opened them in the cage. It didn't make sense to wander around these caves (who knows how big they were). Yet she had a feeling the original cavern was closer to the exit than where she was now. She headed back toward the large cavern with the small cage. |

Prosper heard a deafening blast to his right, and saw dust in the air. Suddenly he was aware of several large Bugbears in his path, dodging the creatures maces and axes <or whatever they were using> he managed to impale one in the groin and slip behind the other two, where he stabbed them in the back and ran on. There are still too many, he thought. And I'm begining to tire. |

Auriel found herself hiding behind a stack of barrels, in a passageway leading from the food storage room she was in. The fight between the bugbears had drawn quite a crowd, and there were a pair of Bugbear guards coming down the passageway, apparently inquiring about what all the ruckus was. They passed by her without noticing her. Ahead, she could see a larger, slightly better-lit room. Meanwhile, the party was having a bit better luck against the Bugbears now. The Bugbear reinforcements were cut off, and the original group of 40 was down to just 10. Eruantian could again hear chariot wheels coming his way. Chezzo said: "You could make a wall of ice. That'd slow him down." |

Slash! Chink! SQUIRSH! "Ungh" went a Bugbear as he went down in battle. "Hope you got enough glory dieing in battle 'Bugger'!" said Coren as he killed it. The things were powerful, but his [OOC]LOL[/OOC]cat reflexes kept him one step ahead of them. He still wanted a shield, it would make things muchos easier. |

[OOC: I'm in the magical world of college, so if I'm gone for more than 4 days at a time, Marcus is an NPC.] The Lizzardman was pleased that he had broken the Bugbear's neck and jumped onto the back of another one to break its neck. And such and so forth and so on. Both beasts were relentless; neither side would go down without a fight. And Marcus was winning. |

So, yes; it branches out a lot. However, Eruantian is in the big entrance tunnel, and so far he can't see anything but a straight tunnel ahead of him. Remember, Chezzo knows the layout, so he likely knows where Auriel was being held.> Just then, Eruantian saw the chariot coming towards him. It was carrying two Ogres... both clad in leather and chainmail armor and brandishing large rhomphaias. It was being pulled by four horses. <TO see some actual rhomphaias, point your browser at http://www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=5972 and gaze in wonder at the biggest bladed weapon you're ever likely to see.> Eruantian felt the ring vibrating with power, as if it was asking to be used. |

Eruntian's ring shot forth a cold ray of blue-white light. The Chariot was instantly frozen solid where the beam from the ring hit the chariot. Chariot, horses, driver and passenger were all encased in a solid block of ice. Chezzo whooped out a cheer: "Hoo-Yeah! That's the stuff! Alright, Aclabar's trapped. Let's go free your friend... and maybe find me some clothes." That gave Eruantian an idea. If this ring is as powerfully as everybody keeps saying, it should be a simple matter for it to make some clothes. Maybey if he told it to do that, it would. |

<I'm gonna have to agree with Somm, Sarge. Unless the clothes are made of ice, Eruantian's ring is getting a little too powerful. But that's just my opinion.> Prosper ran over to Maxwell and Farnaham, stabbing and dogdeing as he went. "It seems we've cut them down, but I wonder if we have the strength to finnish them." he shouted. |

Tem got up, noticing the pile of rubble in front of him. "Ohh, I feel like I hardly solid. How'd you do, Michael?" Tem noticed his legs, and screamed- he was slowly but surely sinking into the ground! "Michael! Get over here!" <The idea is that Tem's body couldn't take the strain of a second passenger, and being more fragile than a human, who would just be a bit frazzled(sorry about the geekese), Tem is molecularly unstable> |

Stilken!Taryn and panther!Acedia had stopped fighting a number of minutes ago, leaving the last few Bugbears for the others to deal with. Taryn had returned to her default form and was looting Bugbear corpses. Not that the beasts really probably had much on them worth taking, but hey - it was something to do. Meanwhile, after quietly enjoying a little snack at the expense of the fallen, Acedia had also re-morphed into a human again. { Note: Neither the falcon nor the panther amulet will work anymore for about another 24 hours or so. } After wiping the last of the blood off of her hands and face as best she could, Acedia stretched a bit, accompanied by a rather unnaturally loud popping noise. |

"Hmm, I wonder..." Eruantian said to himself as he dwelled on the idea of conjuring clothing. He pointed at Chezzo and said "Green shirt and brown trousers." The ring glowed blue and there was a flash of light, and Chezzo found himself clad thick mass of brown and green ice. Chezzo said through clattering teeth: "What? brrrr.. too cold. Kk..kk.. could you rrr reversseee thaattt... pp ppleaseee?" <GM's Note: This was my plan all along. I'm just framing out Eruantian testing the limits of his ring's power. All good role-playing.> Meanwhile, Micheal was gazing in shock an horror as Tem was literally dematerializing in from of him. The strain of casting Power Word Blast so soon after casting all those other spells was catching up with Micheal, but he could still stay conscious... just. "Hold on, I've got you... give me you hand. Micheal wasn't very strong, physically, but he managed to prop Tem's body up. "Uggh... you're heavier than I imagined. I'd cast a Bigby's Hand to hold you up, but that last spell strained me to my limits of fatigue.I don't know what's happening to you, never see anything like this before, but your body only seems to destabilize where it meets the ground. If I can just keep you from touching the ground, you should be alright. Only, I'm not built for this sort of thing. I mean, I don't work out or anything. I don't know how long I can keep this up... or rather, keep YOU up. Can you sent a telepathic message to Acedia? Her panther-form could lift you easy, and her bird-form could get here fast." <GM's note: Micheal doesn't know that Acedia's powers have time limits. He's a mage, not a talismonger.> Auriel was steadily making her way out of her captivity, sticking to the shadows and keeping very quiet. She made her way unnoticed past the room where she had originally been brought, but now she had a choice to make. The passageways branched out from here. One passageway went up, one went down, and the other stayed on this level but turned left. Which one to choose? |

Yes: turn to page 150 No: turn to page 200 </OOC> Page 150 The command caused the ice to instantly melt away. Upon removing the colored ice from Chezzo, Eruantian said "Alright, let's go find Aurieul. Lead the way, Chezzo."
