[GM's quick recap: The group found some doors, one on the upper level and one on the lower level. They seem to connect to each other. They also found a chest that's traped and locked. The Ogre-Mage who Eruantian previously froze solid somehow survived and resumed his attack, but Eruantian trapped him between two walls of ice. Now Captain Sealem is interrogating him, attempting to discern the Ogre's true motives and plans here, and if he has any connection to the Drow.]
Captain Sealm said: "I gave you an order, Corporal Marcus. Now move out and return with Mister Tem. On the DOUBLE!"

Tem teleported over to the ogre.
"I truly think that this will be quite fun." said Tem.
He laid his hand on the Mage, and let his powers suck the Mage's thoughts into him. Okay, let's see here... Return to his mind all things that don't have to do with drow, Ogres, or High Flayers...
"Gyaahh!" said Tem. He began racked with convulsions, and said in an eerie voice, "We shall rule all of Skara Brae. Squiddly Man Mountain's vast supplies of Psitanium coupled with our mage's power will allow us to summon our Goddess, Lolth... ALL YOUR WORLD WILL BE BATHED IN FIRE!!!" Tem fell limp, surprised at the hidden psionic message in the ogre's mind. He retched a few times, then shakily stood up. "We're screwed." he said.

[GM's Recolection: That would have been this part, highlighted below:]

Aclabar said: "I ordered your friend Aurieul to be used as food for the Bugbears, but it seems she escaped. Later, I sent an Umber-Hulk to attack you, but I lost control of it and it went on a rampage that may have killed poor Aurieul. I don't know her fate for certain, though."

Chezzo said: "Um, sorry to interrupt, but Maxwell's hurt pretty bad, guys. Is one of you a healer?"

Captain Sealem said: "Horin, attend to Mister Maxwell. We will continue the interrogation here." Then, turning to Aclabar, he said: "I would know your motivation here, Ogre. Why did you amass an army of Bugbears, and why did you kidnap Aurieul?"

Aclabar positively growled in response: "Why, I want that ring, of course. with it's power I could become invincible. I would master the ring and turn it's powers to my service, and with those powers none would stand before me. Buwh ahaha ahaha!"

Maria shook her head: "That's not the whole story, though. You're holding something back. These doors are ancient, and their runes are cryptic. You would not have chosen this place for a base if it didn't hold some greater part in your plan. Besides, Prosper's talisman only protects him from Drowish magic, but it protected him from the Umber-Hulk. That means that a Drow, and not you, summoned the Umber-Hulk."

Aclabar smiled a toothy smile and said: "Ah, so the Paladin has brains as well as beauty. Yes, my dear, you are correct in that I have not told you everything. Hahhahah... Did you expect me to reveal all my plans like some tavern bard's story-villain? No! If you want to know why I chose this place and what it's for, then you will let me go."

Sealem pointed his sword directly at the center of Ogre's right eye: "You're not in a position to make demands here, villain. We decide what happens to you, and we will not bargain with you over it. Is that clear? If you won't tell us everything, then we'll extract your hidden plans forcibly! Mister Marcus, get Tem up here, on the double! I require his... special talents. I assure you, Ogre, forcible extraction of the mind is not pleasant. You may wish to reconsider your..."

The Ogre spat in Captain Sealem's general direction: "You don't frighten me, Elf! My mind is a fortress, and your pet Flayer will not break it. You can't hold me forever. I will be free. Free, I say. I will break these walls, and then I'll crush you like an insect for your impudence! Arrrrr!" Once again, the Ogre began pounding on the walls of his prison, but as before, the walls held.

Captain Sealem turned to the others and said: "Guard him well. If it looks like he's going to get his arms free, poke his eyes out. Let me know when Tem arrives"

Sealem came over to where Maxwell lay. Then to Horin he said, grimly: "Can you do anything for him, Horin?"

"Oh, wait, I heard when you called me a pet." Tem said To Aclabar. "I am a more-or-less functioning part of society and a person! A Squid-headed, brain-eating person, but still. Being called a pet is as bad as being called an Aberration. I'm sorry, but I just can't let you live." Tem started to materialize a giant sword...

"Well, lemme just..." Tem punched Aclabar a few times to knock him out. "Okay, I'm ready to get a more... formal idea of their plan rather than that hidden message." he put his hand on the mage once more, this time drawing in the same thoughts. "Okay, so, they're going to... mine out all the psitanium(an extremely powerful mineral made of concentrated thought) that Squiddly man Mountain is founded on, then... Oh no. They'll use its energies to summon their spider-goddess, Lolth. We're doomed all right, unless we... hang on a sec, Aclabar's also planning to... rule at the side of the Drow... and enslave us all... back to what I said. We need to stop their mining operation, and fast, and depose the Nu'Tek rulers, mere Puppets of the Drow."

"Oh, but can't I kill him, too?" Marcus asked, rushing off to fetch the Flayer. "Or at least eat him when he's dead?"

After he retrived Tem, the Lizzard hungrily watched the interrogation from a careful distance. He wasn't any good at any kind of debating: "flex, snarl, slash, repeat" was his race's preferred method. The step "bribe" is, of course, always optional.

"Recall" Eruantian said as he pointed the ring at the ogre mage. The ring's powers removed the walls of ice and Aclabar fell foreword with a crash as he hit the floor. Eruantian proceeded to check the pockets of his fallen enemy as if searching for something.

<OOC> Eruantian likely interrupted Tem's search and created a brief danger zone where the 600-pound ogre came falling down. Commence startlement, staring, and/or scolding. </OOC>

The Ogre-Mage's pockets were numberous, but the first one that Eruantian searched contained a key, a small silver case, and a small gemstone (a round-cut Ruby, ½ Caret).

Meanwhile, Aclabar the Ogre Mage struggled to his feet. He was very angry, but also a bit embarrassed. After all, he had just fallen flat on his face.

"Recall" Eruantian said again, reasoning that ogre mage should stay unconscious for a longer period of time after a much harder concussion.. The ogre mage fell backwards this time, exposing more pockets. "Come on" Eruantian said as he once again picked Aclabar's pockets "Where are they?" Eruantian proceeded to pull objects out of every pocket he could put his hands in.

Chezzo said: "Yep, he's the holder of the Rings of Klebia. But you know, they're not in his pockets. They're on his fingers. Guess I shoulda mentioned that."

Mean while, Eruantian had found: A ham & cheese sandwich (uneaten), a potion of Cure Disease (clearly labeled) in a waxed wooden jar, two spools of gold thread, an unidentified wand of some sort, a map, a blank scroll, a quill pen, a vial of ink (with a cork stopper), another key, a set of toothpicks in a small ivory container, 47 gold pieces, 16 silver pieces, one 10-ounce bar of platinum, a set of scissors (made of iron), a collapsible gnomish spyglass, a steel dagger (hidden in his left boot), a set of lockpicks & thieves tools, and a set of letters bound up with red ribbons.

[Did I mention he has a LOT of pockets on him? Well, he's a big guy with a big jacket.]

There were three rings, in total, on Aclabar's hands. One each on his two ring fingers plus another one on the left index finger. The one on his right ring finger was a plain gold band with an inscription (in Elvish) on the inside of the band. The ring on his left ring finger was a gold signet ring (a ring with a seal set into it), the seal on the face of the ring being a coat of arms consisting of a trident crossed with a sword under a hydra, all on a kite shield, with a bear and a unicorn supporting the shield on either side; It was not an emblem Eruantian recognized. The band of this signet ring was engraved with runes on the outer side and in elvish on the inner side. The ring on Aclabar's left index finger was a thin silver band holding three gemstones in a triangular set: A star-cut Diamond, an square-cut Emerald, and a polished spherical Black Pearl.

Andrew was guarding the knocked out elven swordsman, feeling that they are in more need of his protection than the group is in need of his aid (although due to distance he doesn't know what is currently happening to the party). He was in a very calm manner but still had sharp senses (although his lack of darkvision has hindered his sight).

Heh, usually moments like this is when exotic events pop-up...maybe I shouldn't have thought that, I could Jinx myself.

[Er, two of them are inscribed in Elvish.]
The plain gold band was inscribed in elvish on the inside, and read: "Presented to Semriuarn Klebia in recognition of exceptional courage and valiant service." At the end of this inscription, there is a mark that Eruantian cannot translate. It's not part of any language that either he or his ring know. However, Eruantian's ring can translate the runes on the other side. They are apparently part of the enchantments placed on the ring. The runes are Old Elvish; They call on Tyr (god of Law and Justice) and Torm (god of duty, loyalty, obedience) to offer specific protection and aid to the wearer. Also, the runes call upon Mystra (goddess of magic) to invoke certain arcane formula that would draw power from the Plane Of Brilliance and from the Astral Plane. However, several of the runes have been defaced and Ogrish runes have been crudely scratched under them, apparently in some attempt to substitute the names of Tyr, Torm and Mystra with the names of various Ogrish deities.

The signet ring was inscribed in Elvish on the inside with: "Seal of the House Klebia, comissioned by Semruarn Klebia, 263 NR." Again, the same cryptic mark as on the inside of the other ring appears at the end of this ring's Elvish inscription.

The Silver ring with the three gemstones is not inscribed at all.
