"Spiders?" Marcus stopped thrashing and pretty much froze. "I HATE spiders! Let's not fight that spider goddess." The Lizzard crossed his arms. "Besides, it's about dinnertime. You guys hungry? Hey, what's in the jar?" Marcus's eyes lit up a bit. |

"Nothing that any of us should drink!" Eruantian quickly pointed out "Well, I have what I want, Prosper has what he wants, Taryn has what we all want to identify..." It had just dawned on Eruantian that in the heat of the moment he gave the jar to one of the three people he trusted least. *facepalm* "... I have what Micheal would most likely want, and Marcus is bored out of his skull. Have we decided what we want to do with Aclabar yet? Because I just want to find Aurieul and get the heck out of here." Eruantian put Maxwell's sword into its sheath, which was still on Maxwell's belt. He did this because he now had his own sword to carry around, along with some other stuff. Fortunately, the spatha had its own sheath and frog, which Eruantian strapped onto his belt. <OOC> It had donned on me that the ring might be able to read the book's language, but I think letting Micheal look at it would be fairer. </OOC> |

"Besides, it's about dinnertime. You guys hungry? Hey, what's in the jar?" Marcus's eyes lit up a bit. <You aren't in the pit, and they haven't met us yet.> Prosper looked down at Aclabar. "So who want's to kill him?" he spoke finally. Everyone had known that eventually they'd have to chop the ogres head off, but as to who would do the dirty deed no one knew. To Prosper, something just felt wrong about killing an enemy while they were unconsious. To Prosper (who had always been a bit small) fighting dirty was a way of life. But something about this trancended fighting dirty. Stabing your oponent in the back was one thing. Killing him while he was unconcious was another matter entirely. But then, woulndn't back-stabbing be just as wrong? Prosper sat silently and tried to puzzle the matter though, but came to no conclusion. His thoughts turned to the downward passage. |

<OOC: Before I say anything...*overused fad alarm* Anyways with Exams and I'm too busy for a game requiring thought like this one, so Andrew is an NPC until my Exams are over, at least there is a Monk hanging around, every medieval fantasy needs a brawler!> |

He turned and addressed the party. "Anyone wanna take a stab at 'im first?" |

Prosper looked at the lizard, vaugly revolted. To say the least, Prosper was an interesting boy, you'd think that living on the streets would've made him hard-hearted, but in acctuallity it had soffened him quited a bit, along with some help from the old-man, his mentor. Prosper turned to look at the downward leading passage. He wondered how Maxwell was doing. Seeing no point in staying, the boy went in to see how the parties leader was fareing. |

Maxwell was laying on his bed roll, sleeping. Horin was snoozing beside him on his own bedroll. Horin had apparently taken care of the more superficial effects of the fireball that had scotched Maxwell, as Maxwell's skin was red all over but not blackened and blistered like it had been before. Horin had written a sign, in the human language, scratched out with chalk on the floor at Maxwell's feet... but since Prosper couldn't read, he didn't know what it said. Prosper wondered if he should start learning to read. There were plenty of people in the party who could teach him, after all. [GM's note: Like most people during the middle ages, Prosper is functionally illiterate in the common language: He can neither read nor write. However, due to his background and upbringing, Prosper is familiar with the sub-culture and jargon of rouges, pickpockets, thieves and the poor in general.] Micheal and Drek scrambled up the again-lowered rope just as the Spiders came to their senses. The spiders began climbing the wall at an alarmingly rapid rate. Quinn and Andrew had gotten the still-unconscious Elven swordsman into the back of the wagon, and when Micheal and Drek got up the rope, pulled the rope up after them and untied it from the back of the wagon. Micheal said: "Drek, hurry on ahead and warn the others that we've got trouble. Quinn, Andrew and myself will get this wagon out of here." Drek nodded his head: "Right. Good luck!" and with that, he ran off to find the others. His keen tracking abilities made this easy for him: their footprints in the dust were just too obvious to a trained ranger like him. Quinn took the reigns, and the horse moved forward. Soon, it was moving the wagon at a fair clip, but the spiders were moving quite a bit faster. |

{ oic!Taryn: *invents the watch so she has something to look at impatiently waiting for someone to end the ogre-mage* } "Looks like you're free to mangle the ogre, then, Marcus," Taryn remarked, after a few minutes of utter silence from the rest of the group. "Go for it." She wheeled Acedia over to the other end of the chamber, to avoid random sprays of blood, and sat down against the wall, dimly noting that Prosper had wandered off. Not that she was immediately concerned about the boy's sudden disappearance, since it's not like he was her responsibility or anything. |

[GM's Plea: Will someone please kill Aclabar already? If nobody does it before this page is over, Captain Sealem is gonna do it. Because this plot needs to move forward.] |

"Alrighty then!" Marcus stretched out his arms and unsheathed his sword. "You might wanna cover your eyes. This is how we do it Lizzardman-style!" With that, Marcus lept into the air with a draconian snarl, SHING!-ing up the Ogre's face and chest. Even for a strong Lizzard like Marcus, Aclabar's neck was much too thick to break; it looked like long bands of huge rope. Fortunately, Marcus was able to slit the Ogre-Mage's jugular vein, allowing him to bleed to death. Soon the Ogre-Mage's jaw was on the floor in pieces, as were his eyes. Great chunks of ribs followed, then the heart. Clearly, Marcus had made quite a mess in the Underdark. Then again it was just another Lizzardman fight; his race was quite the barbarian type. Marcus was worn out after the carnage. He returned his sword to its sheath, flexed his impressive muscles, and took a big piece of the Ogre's pectoral muscle in his claw. After saying an old Lizzard prayer, Marcus dug into the tough flesh. A tasty meal for the warrior indeed. He took a seat on the floor and without a word offered meat to his "friends". |

Farnham nearly barfed, but all he did was say: "Uh, no thanks Marcus. Somehow, I'm not hungry." Just then, Drek ran into the room and shouted: "We've got trouble! There's a horde of giant spiders coming this way.... We put the eleven swordsman in Horin's wagon and fled 'casue there were just too many of them. Come on, we gotta get outta here!" |

"SPIDERS?!!!" Eruantian darted in the direction that Drek had come from, only to come to an abrupt stop when he realized he had forgotten the pockets! Eruantian scrambled over to the handy sacks, lifted them up, and wobbled his way back in the direction of escape. It was rather silly of him to care so much about spoils when his life was threatened and time was of the essence, but he didn't care; he was determined not to leave anything behind. |

Prosper stared at the message. Reading would probably be a good skill to have. Writing might come in handy as well. He walked back into the main chamber... Then promptly walked out again seeing what Marcus was doing to keep himself busy. Uggh. |

Horin rolled over and woke up, and saw Prosper walk out of the chamber. "What happened while I was asleep, lad?" He asked. |

Prosper replied; "We interogated the Ogre, Eruantian got most of the loot except for a lock pick kit." The boy held it up for Horrin to see. "Eruantian and Marcus had a fight and Marcus just brutally killed the Ogre." Prosper sat down. "What does this say?" the boy asked, indicating the letters by Maxwell. |

Eruantian looked back and saw that no one else seemed to be running for their lives. "What part of 'GIANT SPIDERS' do you not understand?!" he shouted as he continued to flee. |

Just then Horin's wagon, with Quinn driving and Andrew sitting beside him and the now-conscious elven swordsman and Micheal sitting in the back rumbled by. Micheal shouted out: "Run for your lives!" |

Horin glanced at Maxwell. "It says don't wake him up, but under the circumstances, we probably should." Horin grabbed one of Maxwell's arms and hoisted him over his shoulder, running after Eruantian, Maxwell's feet dragging on the ground behind him. "Come on,lad." he shouted back to Prosper. |

"SPIDERS?!?" Marcus dropped his nom and went running. As tough as he was, the Lizzardboy was terribly afraid of spiders. Within seconds he had passed the wagon and was searching for a way out of the Underdark. However, a large rock tripped Marcus, sending him tail-over-head into the ground with a spectacular faceplant. "Owwww..." groaned the green, scaly mound of muscle. |

Taryn, while not possessed of arachnophobia as severely as Marcus, didn't like the little buggers, and so she made her way out of the chamber with Acedia in tow. Acedia really hoped that weird point-of-view power of hers wouldn't kick in while they were running from the spiders, since it made her feel sick and dizzy, and she hadn't yet gotten a chance to practice it with Goldwing, as per Michael's suggestion however long ago that was. It seemed like days, but in actuality was probably just a matter of hours. |

Goldwing, being smarter than the average bird, had already flown out of the cavern and was siting calmly in a nearby tree, preening it's feathers. |

Marcus slowly picked himself up and continued running out of the cave until he stopped at the tree Goldwing had stopped in. "Oh, hello, birdy!" The Lizzard called. "You glad to be away from the spiders, too? I am, but I left so much food in there." His belly grumbled. "I'm still hungry." |

Prosper heard the shouts outside, and, as quick as he could, ran after Horrin. He could hear the scraping, scuttleing sounds of the spiders. He soon caught up with the others. "So flight instead of fight?" he asked. The sounds grew louder. |

Farnham, Maria, Captain Sealem and the other ran after the wagon. As the wagon reached the end oh the tunnel, Micheal hoped off and prepared to cast Power Word Blast: "Move it, people! They're gaining on you!" |

"Looks like it," Acedia remarked to Prosper, since he happened to be right there. "You're welcome to go face the horde if you so desire, though," she continued with a shrug, and then held tightly to her wheelchair as they hit a patch of uneven ground. "Dibs on Horin's magic once we're safe," she said, not really intending to be heard. She was just so over this whole broken limb thing now, and really wanted to be able to walk and shift again. |
