Horin emerged from the tunnel, and promptly tripped on a large rock, sending him head over heels. |

"I didn't mean it like that." mumbled Prosper to Taryn's remark. <1.How long it we're out? 2. I'm a temporary NPC.> |

FROOSH! Goldwing had a new guest in the tree. Unfortunately, Marcus's vertical entrance cued by the spiders sent the eagle flying. The Lizzard found himself hanging between two branches, holding onto one by his tail and another by his arms. "O noes." He said. "That was a close..." Marcus looked at his tail. "Oh, zsshrawwrrrm.*" His flail was gone! But if that wasn't enough, Goldwing returned to give Marcus a piece of her mind. Or beak. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! OW! OWWW!!!" The eagle pecked at Marcus's face. "Gitoffmeyoustupid--" FROOSH! again. The Lizzard flopped onto the ground and landed on his chest. [*This is a very loose transliteration, as of course Lizzard-Tongue is not well-documented other than in passing reference. No other race is known to be able to reproduce the unique sounds of the language, which is derived from the ancient speech of dragons.] |

[GM's continuity complaint: Er, Goldwing is a Golden Eagle, not an Owl. Oh, and y'all are out of ye old mine shaft right about... now!] As soon as everyone was clear of the old mine entrance, Micheal unleashed Power Word: Blast and collapsed the mine shaft behind them, trapping the giant spiders inside. Micheal said: "That should hold them. I doubt they can dig very well... Let's set up camp on that hill and get some rest." Marcus looked up in the tree and saw that his tail-flail was hanging on one of the upper branches. Apparently, he'd accidentally flung in up there when he jumped into the tree. Goldwing finished pecking at Marcus and then flew off to land on Drek's arm, happy that her master was up and that they weren't any more of those big spiders around. |

Eruantian, who did not expect Micheal to collapse the entrance to the cave, shouted "Wait! What if Aurieul is still alive?" |

Micheal shook his head: "She may be, but I don't see how we could find her. None of us have any earth-moving powers or underground tracking abilities. Besides, she knew this was a dangerous quest when she joined us. I think she would have wanted us to carry on without her if she was lost." Farnham said: "Aclabar said Auriel escaped after he ordered her used for Bugbear food. She could have gotten out of the caves somehow... maybe a secret exit of something. Who knows? Maybe she made it out OK. Just because we didn't find her doesn't mean she's not alright." |

Acedia sighed with relief upon emerging into the sunlight again, and Taryn wheeled her over to sit under the tree in the shade. "It's far more plausible that she's either trapped somewhere underground far deeper than any of us care to go, or just dead, the latter being the most likely possibility," she said with a shrug. Huh, Taryn's pessimistic-realism has started to rub off on her a bit. Acedia turned to Horin. "Horin, I don't mean to be demanding or anything but could you possibly heal me up the rest of the way? I think my rib's still a little bruised and my leg is definitely still broken." "Hey, how long were we underground? Seems to me, less than two hours have passed up here, but it felt like we were down there for a lot longer than that," Taryn remarked, looking around a bit. |

[Fixed. ^^;] "Oof!." Marcus picked himself up and saw that his tail was up in the tree. With a few leaps, bounds, and FROOSH!-es, he retrieved his tail. He looked back at the mine shaft opening and saw that it had been nicely collapsed. "Oh, goodie. No spiders! Innit that great, bird?" Marcus looked around for Goldwing. "Birdie? Oh, there you are." Marcus approached Drek. "Good to see you, Mister Elf. I met up with your birdie up in the tree. We were running from the scary spiders." |

"Just Auriel, I think," Acedia replied unhelpfully, even though Eruantian hadn't been talking to her. "At least, as far as I know. I wasn't there right at the start - there may've been some other people lost before I joined." Acedia really couldn't relate to Eruantian at this point, since she wasn't a halfbreed, or at least didn't have anything that could physically identify her as anything other than human, the nature of her abilities notwithstanding. To that end, she'd never felt like an outcast, and finding someone else who could do what she could was as simple as handing someone else one of her medallions. They would work on anyone, after all. She had them by grace of being good friends of the smiths that made them. |

Andrew was off the wagon, dead silent thinking about how Auriel is...the thought of her also gave him an unfamiliar memory. "Leave him behind but..." "There's no point saving him, we'll just stack up to the death toll" "But leaving him behind, he's a person who helped us..." "Sometimes, to survive you have to do some dark things." The only thing of the memory he recalled were those words, he didn't know the event, the location or the even people involved, just those voices. "These memories, why am I recalling them recently...is it for important reasons" Andrew thought to himself. Hiding the confusion in his soul, Andrew said to the group "That was a close call, the moment I first spotted those spiders I felt things wouldn't end well." |

They didn't get killed or anything, they just left and didn't come back." [GM's note: He's reffering to the people who joined the game and then left shortly thereafter. Now let us never speak of them again.] Drek said to Marcus: "Really? What were you doing in a tree?" Micheal said to Andrew: "Good thing we had Horin's wagon. Remind me to get an apple for this horse. It saved our hides." |

Prosper looked around. They were out, and all safe. Well, they couldn't be sure of Auriel, but what was the point of worrying? Eruanitan thought he could understand what Eruantian was going through, he'd lost freinds before. But Farnaham was right, there was really no way to tell what had happened. As to weather they just leave, Prosper didn't know. If they didn't know exactly what had happened, was it right to just leave without making some attempt? But on the other hand, the Drow were making the first moves to war and as a fairly skilled and well known band of adventurers (as the boy was realizing they were) didn't they have just as much responsibility to try and stop it? Prosper wasn't sure, and stood silently as he puzzled it out. |

It was true--Marcus was indeed scared of spiders. Deathly scared. |

Andrew responded back to Michael "I think the horse isn't the only thing needed to be thanked, we'd still might of been running if it wasn't for your powerful spell". |

<OOC> I'm fairly certain that more people were lost than that. Not counting the player characters who did not join the party: the crossbow-wielding thief deserted before the party entered Targos, Hal(the randomly-volunteered Asian gnome) disappeared just as mysteriously as he appeared, the Reckless Dwarf and his buddy the Shroom Gnome were likely kidnapped by pixies, and the hand-scared psion must have been banished to the Ethereal Realm by the psionic entity, Debomor(boredom). </OOC> |

<We didn't look for them because they wern't around long enough to make an impression on our characters. Auriel, on the other hand, had time to become good aquantinces with all of us, and a notebly good friend with Eruantian and Drek (Eruantian mostly, too bad we couldn't see the little romance play out).> Prosper then noticed Horrin on the ground. "Farnaham! Maxwell! Horrins hurt!" exclaimed the rouge. It was never a good idea to have your healer down, but Prosper was overreacting a bit, not realizing that Horrin (being a sturdy Dwarf) was probably only unconsious. |

{ Not at first you didn't. I HAVE EVIDENCE! O_O Anyway, back in character. >.> } "...When did Horin conk out like that?" Taryn asked with a raised brow, approaching Horin's inert form. Apparently, no one had seen the dwarf trip and the culprit rock was keeping a low profile. She prodded Horin gently with her foot. "I didn't think dwarves were that prone to randomly losing consciousness." |

"Yessir." Marcus took Horin and rolled him over. "Heehee, his face is funny!" The Lizzard began playing with Horin's beard, twisting it around in his claws. Before too long, Marcus accidentally yanked off a small chunk of hair. This was sure to wake any Dwarf. "Oops! Um...I..." Marcus panicked, then simply dropped the torn hair onto Horin's face. |

Horin twitched when the hair hit his face, and he opened his mouth, and promptly woke up and started choking on the inhaled hair. "Ach, what happened then?" He said, pulling hair out of his mouth. |
