Marcus couldn't see the party, just an assortment of pink elephants against a backdrop of a purplish sky and orange ferns. He could hear the sun shining--actually HEAR it. This was due to the common synaesthetic effect of psychedelic substances, in which one sensory experience gives rise to another.

The sun seemed to shriek & scream. Marcus could taste & smell the jumbled sounds he heard from the party. Their voices rapidly fluctuated in pitch & speed, and their "words" were too incomprehensible to be reproduced accurately in a work of this nature.

The Lizzardman began gnawing on his claws; this is the telltale sign of Gnome tea poisoning in Lizzardmen. Any other effects are percieved to be the result of a Wizzard, Mage, or other magical being.

Drek leapt off his horse when he saw Marcus. As the crazed Lizardman ran towards him, he quickly delivered a powerful kick to the side of his head. Marcus fell to the ground, unconcious. "Get me some rope," he said to the party, "He's been affected with Gnome tea." When he had tied Marcus up, he looked off in the direction the Lizardman had come from. "Whoever is the fastest rider needs to get him to town. The herbalist may have the antidote. I'm going to find whoever did this. Is anyone coming with me?"

Farnham said: "I'll take Marcus"
Maxwell said: "Right, lets get Marcus on the back of Farnham's horse, and then the rest of us are after the poisoner."
Soon, Marcus was trussed up on the back of Farnham's horse, and then Farnham was riding fast toward Targos with the unconcious Marcus limp, on the back of the horse.
Maxwell said: "Lead on, master Drek."

Acedia hesitated for a moment. "I..uh, think I ought to go with Mr. Farnham, actually. I've, er, been acquainted with people that have suffered permanent damage as a result of their drinking Gnome tea, and I'm concerned about the lizardman." This was true, even if it wasn't the whole story. Acedia turned her horse and started off down the road after Farnham. Going this way might've seemed counterproductive this morning - she'd arrived at the inn here from Targos to begin with. Such is life when you've resigned yourself to being a drifter, though.

Drek followed the road the way Marcus had come. After a bit, he knelt down and inspected the ground. "There's Gnome Tea on the ground here. This must be where Marcus drank it, he probably spilled it when he began hallucinating." He looked around carefully and spotted a trail through the grass where the gnome had ran off. "This way!" he said to the rest of the party. "I can follow the path, it should lead us right to the one that gave Marcus the tea."

Maxwell followed Drek, with the rest of the party following close behind. "Silent walk, everyone" he said as he dismounted. Drek led, scouting for tracks, while Maxwell tied his horse to a tree and then drew his sword, turning to catch up with Drek.

Meanwhile, Farnham and Acedia were galloping hard down the road to Targos.

Harris was long gone, miles away from the party. If only someone else had encountered him, Marcus could have picked up the Gnome's scent.

(OOC: How could he have gotten that far? It was only a few minutes ago, and I can't imagine gnomes are that fast...)

{}{}{: That's just borderlining on impossibility, but, whatever. o-o

...You know, I was going to make a post, but I realize I can't really do anything worthwhile until Acedia, Farnham and Marcus reach Targos. o_O Unless I'm allowed to decide when that happens, even though I'm loath to have them get there so fast. o_o So...uh...spacefiller!! :}{}{}

<GM's Note: You most certainly are. However, for clarity's sake, I ask that if you make clear to the reader that what you're writing is a flashback. An easy way to do that is to simply write that your character is remembering an earlier incident.
For example: "Strong Bad was amused by the antics of The Cheat, and that reminded him of this one time that the KOT lit his BBQ with The Cheat sleeping inside it." See how easy that was? OK, now you try it.>

[OOC: I'll try this thing out.]

While he was unconscious, Marcus remembered the day he ran away from his Circle.

Due to his size, Marcus was known to be a bully, and a quite vicious one. Barely a day went by that he didn't beat up someone else. The other Lizzard-kids called him "Boulder Man" because his muscles were so big. Now, a physically strong Lizzardman would get off easily for getting in trouble, but this wasn't the case for Marcus. The families of the children whom Marcus had beaten up all "ganged up" on him.

On the night before the judging ceremony, Marcus covered himself in mud to hide his scent and ran away with nothing but his clothes and his boots. No sword, no helmet, no dagger. Just a light shirt & his kilt. 2 weeks later, he made it to Glenarbor, where our story began...

Meanwhile, Tem had gotten to the shaman's tent. His right arm and all his tentacles had disappeared by now. "You!"he said to the shaman,"do the same spell on me that resurrected me." A few minutes later, he walked out of the tent fully renewed. Then he mounted his horse, and galloped off in the direction of Marcus's overpowering thoughts{}{}{I've noticed everyone else's species has gotten a backstory. Could you do mine?}{}{}

Auriuel was getting tired of looking for the gnome. Apparently she wasn't very good at hunting. "Any luck Drek? Maybe we should just catch up with the others and make sure Marcus is okay."

As the party was pondering weather to return to the road to Targos or not, Drek noticed something out of the corner of his eye. He turned to look, and saw that it was moving fast... a bird. A falcon, and it was diving at him, with talons out!

Michael noticed the look on Drek, he asked "Derk what's wrong?", he turned around to see the danger that was about to come.

Marcus wasn't tied onto the horse very well; he was nearly upside down, with the blood rushing to his head. That helped a little with the Gnome tea symptoms, but now he could smell his memories; again, this was from the synaesthetic effects. They smelled bad; he wanted to forget them and start a new life. After the episode with Tem, Marcus really had to be careful.

Drek quickly leaped to the side. He rolled as he hit the ground, and came up with his dagger drawn, prepared for another strike.

The falcon barely missed Drek, and soared upwards again, screeching as it went past. A voice cried out "Get them!" and a chorus of mens voices answered back with monotone shouts. About a dozen Gnomes came crashing though the underbrush, short-sword in hand and running at the party.

"He drank Gnome tea and passed out. I'm not sure how his thoughts could be going out of control, considering he's unconscious, but I'm a mere mortal and have no intimate knowledge of a lizardman's electroencephalographic behavior." RANDOM SPOUTING OF BIG WORDS. o-o;; This happens occasionally, and Acedia isn't sure why either. English: I don't know how Lizardman brains work. "So, good to see you're better again. We're on the way to Targos."

{}{}{: I guess Tem is just floating along with Acedia and Farnham? Since as far as I know they're still riding to Targos and are therefore in motion. Very quick motion, too, as no mention of a speed change has been made. :}{}{}

"I hope the others are having some luck finding that gnome." IRONY!

Great, an attack. Aurieul had been part of the adventure for less than a day and already they were being attacked. It was one thing to try tracking down a gnome that had messed with one of them, but to be bombarded? She hadn't even a weapon on her yet. At least she was on horseback. Maybe she could use that to her advantage.
