"We don't need no ejjimacation." (notice the irony? "Don't Need No...") Funny thing though, in almost every language I've ever studied, double negatives are emphatic. But in Englilsh, they're considered contradictory. Why does Englilsh have to be such an oddball language? Emphatic or contradictory? |
