Nosferatu WAS Dracula. It's just that the producer had to change the name to keep Bram Stoker's widow from suing.

Windows. I like being able to buy software without worrying whether it's compatable or not. ALL HAIL THE EVIL LORD WILLIAMUS GATIUS!!

I don't use ICQ or AIM, so you can pick up with that TOT.

I thought Vlad Tepes Dracula was dracula, not Nosferatu. But i also heard that was just a Nickname for Vlad. Does anyone know the real answer?

Incense or candles?

:[ Nosferatu is a slavic word for vampire, meaning "Walking dead" or something like that. "Nosferatu" was one of the earliest vampire movies ever made, and it was originally meant to be an adaptation of Dracula, but Bram Stoker's widow refused to let them use her late husband's book, so the director changed the name.

The name Drakul means "Burninator", and refers to Vlad's combat standard. Image A similar sounding scandanavian word, "dragur" means an undead creature similar to a goblin. :goblin: So it is possible that Vlad the Impaler was the inspiration behind Bram Stoker's "Dracula."

Incidentally, the actor that played the Nosferatu was named Shrek! :goblin:

Candles. Adds to the creepy mood of this part of the thread. :[

Lestat or Alucard?

I'ma go with Lestat, 'cause that Alucard guy looks a lil snarky.

"Opportunities for advancement" or "potential greivous harm"?

1. nosferatu was the old european name for a vampire. I made a mistake. I meant Graf (count) Orlok.
2. They had many differences. Dracula was Devonare, stylish, normal looking. Count Orlok was creepier looking with long finger nails and pale green skin with weird ears.
3. Bram Stoker's wife did sue, and had all copies of the movie destroyed, but some survived and was shown. Duplicates of those were made later and so now you can bye Nosferatu on dvd!

back on topic

potential grievies harm

i am going to try this again...
Dracula- swave, devonare((SP?)) or Graf Orlok- creepy, long nails, weird ears, pale green skin

Image Count Orlok

Image Count Dracula

Alucard. Practically indestructible and packs a huge freaking gun.
Image

Actually, Coppola combined them both in his version. The Transylvanian one looked a lot like Orlok, but when in England, he was the suave sophistocated Dracula.

For you Hellsing fans, notice that Alucard's nemisis looks like Orlak.

Bela Lugosi :[ or Boris Karloff :goblin: ?

Track. I've found that to be the best place to tie ladies with mortgages. If you tie them in a field, the train can't reach them.

Peewee's laugh! Haha!

How about Nelson's laugh (The SImpsons) vs. Mandark's laugh (Dexter's Lab)?

p.s. RacerX - you should do a TOTPD. Just edit your Top of the Page post and add a dancing icon.

I'm gonna assume you mean Rather Dashing, since not even the awsome power of the popular search engine GOOGLE was able to find anyone named Fairly Dashing.

Anyway, I'ma go with Rather Dashing.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea or Moby Dick?
