Welcome to the super-fantabulous, overly-awesome Caption Contest! The rules for this are quite simple:
1) Every few days, a picture will be posted by me that will more-than-likely deal with something from the Homestar universe. To help those that don't check the forum as much as others, I'll be sending out PMs (and possible IMs if I know your screen name) when a new round begins.
2) The object of the game is to post the funniest caption for the provided image. There will be three judges in this game: Ju Ju Master, Susan, and myself. At the end of each round, judges will score every contestant's caption (on a 10-scale) before the scores for each person are averaged together. Those who score the highest at the end of each round will receive a specific number of points:
- First place receives 7 points
- Second place receives 5 points
- Third place receives 3 points
- Fourth place receives 1 point
On occasion, there will be bonuses in rounds that can be anything from no points for the 2nd place person to the last-place person receiving a point. The final (10th) round will always have a bonus attached to it.
3) Those who post captions may only post captions of less than 30-words in length (excluding things
exclusive to the Homestar Runner universe). Any longer, and the contestant will be disqualified from the round or offered to make a new caption. Contestants must also post the image for the round with their entry.
4) Do not alter the image of the round in any way.
5) Unless you are told to redo your caption by one of the judges if it doesn't follow the rules, do not post more than one caption. Doing so will result in me randomly choosing the caption to judge.
6) Captions must be posted within 5 days of the new round or else you are disqualified from the round. Judges must also provide their scores for the round in a timely manner.
7) There will be 10 spaces for sign-up. I will not accept any more people beyond that point.
8) If you choose to be a contestant, please make sure that you are able to stay in this contest the entire time. Also, please try to post captions even if you are in last place; bonuses can always bring you up near the top.
9) If there are ties at the end of the game, those who have the same point values receive the same rank.
The prizes for this game are...FORUM TROPHIES! That's right: put them in your avatar, put them in your signature, put it under your bed and never look at it again! There is a spot on every trophy for the contestant's name if they win it.
