A Square Waveform is a type of synthetic sound, sometimes referred to a Pulse Wave (although Pulse Waves sometimes have variable wavelength). It sounds something like a clarinet, or music tones produced on old school video game systems like the Atari 2600 and the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).
