All you have to do in this game is to say a bigger number than the one before you.

Catch: It has to fit on one line in the typing box, not counting an explanation (if it needs one)

You can use any operation you want.

I'll start:

1.

99,999,999,999,999,999,999 to the 99,999,999,999,999,999,999th power.

I win.

The largest number in existence (may be infinity) to the power of itself.

Correction: I win. No one can think of a bigger number that can fit in one line in the "typing box".

(If by typing box, he means the text box on the posting page...)

Actually that would be completely equal since neither end, therefore you'd never know the answer and would ultimately say that i = i^i.

And is infinity really a number?

No, infinity is not a number.

Infinity is a concept, not a number.

I said "may be infinity". Since we have established that infinity is not a number, just ignore that part.

And numbers could be written as formulas. It'd just be (we're letting the number be x here) x^x. Not y or anything, just x^x. We do stuff like that for scientific notation.

A Googolplex to the Googolplex power.

Yeah, that's all I have.

I don't think that's a bigger number... DS_Kid's number had a googol x a googol plex digits (10^(10^100*10^(10^100))), and that only has 2 x a googol digits. (Wow, I mistyped 'googol' as 'google' pretty much every time in that last sentence.)

Well, to make things simpler (maybe), I'll make the next number 10^(10^(10^(10^10))).
