Night 5 It was with a heavy heart that Falcon debriefed his commander that evening, summarizing the events of the day. "...so they killed Agent Silence, sir," he finished. "The new kid, eh? Hmm." Metatron shook his head in disbelief. "I can't believe he would compromise us so greatly with that outburst. It's a shame to lose such a powerful ally, but it seems he wasn't cut out for our ranks after all." Falcon was surprised at Metatron's apparent lack of sorrow, but he kept as straight a face as he could and received that night's mission.
With Susan's paralyzing ability gone, the risk of going in groups less than three was far too great. So that night Falcon found himself joined by his usual partner, Deadpunch, as well as a junior agent called Tachyon. "What kind of a name is Tachyon anyway?" asked Punch, stumbling over the pronunciation. "It's a scientific term. A tachyon is a theoretical particle that travels faster than light," Tachyon explained. "Of course, I'm not quite as fast as that, but I like the sound of the word." The trio approached their destination house. To their surprise, the door was unlocked. "How very careless," Falcon remarked as he entered. However, the house was still and the bedroom was empty. "Not again," he sighed to himself, but then he heard a cry of "Hey!" coming from outside. Tachyon, idly looking out at the square, spotted movement across the street. In the blink of an eye, he was there and staring at Sean'd, who was facing another person's house and apparently in a trance. The agent grabbed Sean'd and yelled, "Hey! He's over here!" Deadpunch lumbered over, and Falcon leapt out the bedroom window and alighted in front of Sean'd. "So it was you, wasn't it?" said Falcon, staring into his victim's eyes. "You made us fail last night." "Maybe I did," said Sean'd. "I got lucky. I can only shield one place at a time. But it gave us an extra day, and that's all we-" Sean'd's sentence was interrupted as Punch delivered a blow to his stomach hard enough to knock all the wind out of him. He doubled over, unconscious. "Sorry, bro, I know you wanted to have a nice dramatic ending, but we couldn't give you the time you needed to put up a shield around yourself." Punch unceremoniously slung the body over his shoulders and headed back to base with his partners.
In another house, someone awoke in the dead of night and cautiously got out of bed. This would be unremarkable, except for the fact that for the past two nights, they had awoken to find themself unable to move a muscle. This person smiled a little at their returned freedom, put on their customary black robe, and headed across the street. The agents and Sean'd were long gone. The hooded figure slipped into the home of Askingforachallenge, excited to be back on the prowl.
-The villains have killed Sean'd!. He was the angel. -The serial killer has killed Askingforachallenge. He was a townsperson. -It is now Day 5. You know what to do. -This round ends at 9 PM EST, Thursday July 17.
