It's not about dumbing it down, it's about using common sense. There's no reason, apart from pretentiousness, to use the Latin root when the English is more succinct.

Good work there Jitka, cutting people down, not even feeling the need to take on these pathetic people. I mean that, you're doing well.

One thing I couldn't help noticing though, you have never done that to me. Obviously I am at a higher level than the rabble that squabbles around at the bottom of our mighty pedestal, but why is it that you have never dismissed my comments like that?

Could it be that you are threatened by me, Jitka? You know that you can never hope to rise above me, so you resort to the same childish comments that you belittle others for making.

That wasn't hyperbole at all. Hyperbole is saying things like "I feel like I've been run over by a train". Not "we do more bad things than America". Try learning a little literature before you attempt to use it.

See, this is the problem. To an Australian, being a violent drunkard is a good thing, whereas to anyone else it would be a source of shame.
