| Post subject: | RAF! GAME X Over, Game 11 Signups now. |
This game was invented by M:TG's Richard Garfield.The goal is to be the last player standing. A series of rounds is played until either a single player is alive (and wins) or no one is alive (and the game is a draw). In each round of the game, each player has 3 options: You may fire at any other player, you may fire at the air, or you may try to kill yourself. IF YOU SHOOT AIR: No deaths are caused by you. If anyone shoots you, you die. IF YOU SHOOT ANOTHER PLAYER: If the other player didn't shoot self, then they die. If they shot self, they live and you die. You also die if any other player shoots you. IF YOU SHOOT SELF: If no one else shoots you, then you die. But if even one other player shoots you, then you live, and everyone who shot you dies. Don't ask why. An example will help you. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Adam, and Eve are playing. A player's shot will be represented as player->shot. Matthew->SELF Mark->Luke Luke->SELF John->AIR Adam->Mark Eve->Luke The only person to shoot Matthew was himself, so he dies. Luke also shot himself, but Mark and Eve shot Luke too, so they die and Luke lives. Everyone else lives because no one fired at them. Luke->Adam John->Adam Adam->AIR Now Adam is out of the game, and Luke and John battle it out. When only two players remain, you really need to outwit your opponent. Notice that if Luke shoots himself, John wins by shooting air. If Luke shoots John, John wins by shooting self. And if Luke shoots air, then John wins by shooting Luke. Luke->AIR John->AIR Oddly enough, they both live. Luke->John John->Luke Both players die, and the game's a draw. But hopefully in the actual game, everyone will be very smart, and the game will not end in a draw. Right? When new games start, reply to sign up. Once I announce the list, PM me with your decision, & optional choice of weapon. You have exactly 7 days (168 hours) afterwards to contact me. Late or absent choices will count as a death for the player, unless you specify in advance that you won't be able to get your choice in on time. It was a quiet day in the land of Quietland. Everything was quiet. Not a sound was to be heard. Nothing but silence. The sound of one hand clapping. You know what I'm talking about. It was absolute noiselessness. Thanfully, our story takes place in Nowhere Land. It is called Nowhere Land because it is fictional, and hence it isn't really anywhere, but if you insist that is has to be somewhere, you may pretend that Nowhere Land is in Colorado. Actually, this story is in Colorado. That was just a clever gag to relax you. This tiny mountain town has a population of about 27. "This is terrible!" The mayor, Jamie Dunkle, says. "According to this newspaper, this town is overpopulated by 9 people, and if 10 people don't have a duel to the death to see who's the last survivor, then we'll all be DOOMED!" "Oh, no!" everyone says. "We need to play RAF to decide which of us stays alive!" So, they do. [The Chessman has quit.] Unnamed Colorado Town seemed quiet. Almost too quiet. That's because everyone has a 3-hour commute to Denver, & I-70's always jammed. Stupid Interstates. 8 pm...Everyone is coming home from Work. Puhples, funkstar, Exhibit A are just getting off the off-ramp into town. "How was work?" Puhples asks. "It was awesome," funkstar replies, "I got fired!" Exhibit A scratches his head. "How is that a good thing‽" "Cause now I have more time for the ladies!" Puhples rolls his eyes. "Oh, great, just what we need. An 11-year-old, Northern Irish lech king." "Hey, that's not nice!" Exhibit A screams. "Neither are you." Puhples whips out his TP Gun & covers Exhibit A, smothering the guy in Charmin Ultra. "Muwahahaha! I am Teh TP Man!" Puhples drives off in his TP Truck, funkstar following him. "I'll get you yet, Teepee!" ********** Smorky is the first home. He was waiting for everyone else. "Hey, I should kill someone! Maybe if I just fire at the air, some random person will die." Smorky fired his Big Gun into the air, hoping what he was hoping. Just then, funkstar pulled up in his poser-rific Lech Ride. "YARGLE! I'm so mad I could KILL someone!" Smorky backed off. "Hey, put down that iToy, funky-" "NO ONE ADDRESSES ME BY ANYTHING BUT MY FULL NAME! DIE, SMORKY!" With one press of the button, Smorky was a dead ghostie. "TEH FUNKSTAR SHALL RULE NOWHERE LAND! ALL HAIL MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" As if on cue, Exhibit A crawled right up to funkstar's leg. "Must...kill...TP...Guy..." "Hey, I'm not Puhples! I'm funkstar!" "Tee pee...tee pee..." Tee Pee happened to be Exhibit A's pet Hyena. With one last dying breath, Exhibit A gave the orders. "Finish him." I don't wanna bore you with all the gruesome details, but The Star, in a nutshell, "burned out". ********** Back in the Town Center, everyone gathered, having heard rumors of quite a few deaths. She-Shoe was secretly stroking & talking to her Flamethrowing Chainsaw. "Yes, my pretty. With the 2 of us, Nowhere Land will be so underpopulated that only WE will be left!" Homeschool Winner lookes over at She-Shoe. "Are you OK? You're getting pretty attached to that thing." "Yeah, I'm worried about you," Ju Ju Master chimes in, "I'm not even that close to my precious Piece O' Lettuce!" "Oh, come on!" Shishu interrupts, "Look at YOU, Homeschool Winner with your prized Gumball Gun!" Ju Ju has a hard time making up his mind. "Yeah! Do you hates the Bagginses?" He & Shishu raised their weapons. Homeschool Winner was terrified. "Wha-wha-wha-what are you DOING‽" "We just don't like you anymore." Ju Ju & Shishu say in unison, & do the same with their lettuce and Chainsaw Flamethrower, respectively. In retaliation, Homeschool Winner immediately fires his Gumball GUN XQ-Flip at Shishu. "NOOOOOOOO! The gum is too bubbly!" 2 more citizens of Nowhere Land are dead. Ju Ju Master surveys the minor carnage. "I gotta get outta here!" Ju Ju speeds off in his pimped-out Suzuki Swift. ********** Black Metal meets at The Chessman's house for a drink. His Escalade doesn't do a very good job of hiding his Blockian Turret. "Hehehehehe...The Chessman only THINKS we're having a drink! Little does he know that his head's about to BLOW! Muwahahahahahaha!!!" Black Metal gets out his Long Pointy Stick & rang The Chessman's doorbell. "I'm heeeeeere!" The Chessman didn't even get a syllable in edgewise before Black Metal blew his head off. And his house. "Check and mate. I win!" 3 players are left: Black Metal Puhples Ju Ju Master PM me, guys! |
