An Ellipse is a mathematical term. You were presumably thinking of Ellipsis, a punctuation mark. But to answer your question: To get an Ellipsis in Unicode, you reference code point 2026, hexadecimal. The horizontal ellipsis character may be represented in HTML by the entity reference … (since HTML 4.0). Alternatively, in HTML, XML, and SGML, a numeric character reference such as … or … can be used. Like so: … The next person sees an empty-block character placeholder instead of a Horizontal Ellipsis at the place where I inserted Unicode Character 2026 above. |
