Simon: That is of no concern to you. dont come back to me unless you have 1000GP, or that statue.

Simon goes back to reading his book. more dust comes off of it, and most of the name is revealed

Simon: This book has more to it than just raising the dead. Recite to me the verse that everyone who is in this field of study knows, and i will take you to Innsmouth.

Roll 2D20 to recite the verse.

Simon: Ahh, you have it down to the last punctuation mark, good job, sarge me boy, now then, so you guys want to go to Innsmouth, ehh? well then, just Drink this Elixer and Say the name you wish to go. dont do it in here, or else youd take me with you, now go on, scat.

:does a happy dance: :eekdance:
One out of sight of Simon, Sarge shows the Book of Fabled Necronomicon to the Mage, HiGuys (who needs a better elven name).

Sarge of Lonelywood to HiGuys: "This book jumped in my pack all by itself! It's obviously magical. What do you make of it?"

(OOC: HiGuys, use your Lore skill to see if you can Identify the book. If that fails, try an Identify spell.)

OK, your lore skill is at +7, so that's a 10. Probably not enough to identify this book. We'll see what the GM says.

(OOC: I was afraid of that. Oh well, at least we know that much now.)
Sarge of Lonelywood: "Hrm, it defies description eh? Oh well. I'll keep it close." Sarge puts the book back in his pack.
"Ok everyone, gather close. Here we go!" Sarge uncorks the Elixar and drinks it. It tastes rather odd."

you are, as it turns out, not in the dark woods. your actually just outside of the Innsmouth Inn. you are in the town Square. in the middle of the square is a statue of a soldire holding a sword to the sky. its head is missing. accross from the Inn is the Esoteric Order of Dagon Town Hall. to your left is the Innsmouth Poor House, it is just a door with a sign on it. to your right is just a house. the door to the innsmouth Inn is open. there are many men that look like fish wandering around, mumbling words. if you wish to hear what they say, roll a D10 plus your Listen modifyer. if you wish to enter inn, you may do so. if you wish to wander around the square, you may do so. what shal thoust do?

I light my torch and hold it up above my head.
Sarge of Lonelywood: "Lets check out the Inn, everyone. It's been my experience that an Innkeeper is usualy a good source of information."
I walk up to the door of the Inn and try it.

you all enter the inn. there is the innkeeper sitting at the desk. there is a door to your left that says "Employees Only"(Fishmen cant spell), to your right is the desk. straight ahead of you is the stairs to the upper floors, along with a couch. what do you wanna do?

of course, the Fishmen run everything, bareley any normal men run anything. the only place with norman people running it is the Towns Grocer.

EDIT: you cannot greatly identify the fishmen. you know nothing about them, accept that they are men who look like fish.
