Fine. But this game has to be played correctly so that it will be the most popular game.

What about "The Price Is Right!" as a game to play? That's a classic, and you only need five people plus the host. Plus, at the end of the show, you get to tell people to be sure to have their pets spayed or neutered just like Bob Barker always does.
:Spins the "Wheel of Cheese" again:
:D

I dunno about "The Price is Right", Sarge. I'm not sure why, but I just got that "nah-let's-not-do-that-one" feeling before I added it as an option. And buhubs, Jeopardy would be OK, but I'm not very good of thinking up obscure trivia questions.

And in response to Badri3211: Huh?

Greed is interesting. Earning a lot of money and answering questions may be my best quality for the game.

Well, it's been three hours (ahem-hem) and there's an important update on the front page. So then, how do I get rid of that stupid poll?

I don't think you can. It'll have to stay there.

You can edit the poll by editing the first post on the first page.
Now point, click, and watch out for zombies.

I tried that. I suppose I selected the "permanent" option. I'll have to ask a mod or admin, I guess. And quit it with the zombie-talk!

Incorrect.

And making the poll permanent only makes it so it never ends. It'll still be shown there.

As I said, I asked Dark Grapefruit because he's an admin and I feel like it.

Two things wrong with that statement.

1. DG is a girl
2. She is a mod not an admin.

People often confuse Mods for Admins. The Admins are giant firebreathing gods that have the power to completely alter the very fabric of realit that is the Forum. Mods are mere mortals who have been granted a modicum of the Admin's forumly powers. As a former Mod from another reality (er, forum) I can attest to the awesome power that is the Admin. Oh, and the shiney moderators badges identfy the mods too.

What's that? HRWIKI mods don't get Shiney Mod's Badges? What kind of a forum is this? That's it, I'm organizing a Mod's union and demanding increased Shiney Badge allowances.

*We now return you to your reualy schedualed non-random forum postings, already in progress.*

Hooray, doubt. So then, on the ethics survey so far, 1 person said No! and, disturbingly, two people said Finland. How dare you say Finland! Almost as offensive as Belgium. Anyway, keep em' coming.

Wait, what the crap is an em'?

Saying "finland" is more fun. There is ironic humor involved. Hence, the popularity of that poll option.
That, and them Fins party hearty. :eekdance:

I would have to say "Sandwich" because that is also a lot of fun.

But if you want a real answer, It would be "yes" because life can be a little random sometimes, and it's not like you're randomly selecting who lives and who dies.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a sudden craving for a sandwich. :)

Eh, mark it down as an "I don't care"
It was a yes or no question with an opt-out option. So anyone who didn't answer yes or no didn't really care about the poll.

Depending on how you do it, pming people to ask them to be surveyman could be considerred spam (I've learnt from experience). Say you need 7 sruveyman. You can't pm 15 expecting half of them to opt out, apparently pming a lot of people at the same time for the same thing without them wanting to be pmed is spam (It's odd, and I disagree with it, but you can't do much about the end of rule 3 (I think it's 3)) If you pm a few people at a time and wait for their response, you may be able to do it. I think your best bet is to ask a mod or an admin before you go about doing this, to see what you can and can't do.

My rule of tum* (not to be confused with a rule of thumb) when it comes to forum games is this:

If someone signs up for something, then that's what they get to play like in the game
You sign up for volleyball? You get to volley some balls. Simple, no?

If not enough people show up for an actual game of Volleyball, then modify the game until you can play some sort of game that resembles volleyball. Fun, fun, fun. :)

No Tums were harmed in the making of this forum posting.
Delicious, chewable, tums....

Well, I suppose we could do with 6 surveymen... no, scratch that. How about we relegate some of the players to surveymen, and then we'll have less players, but enough surveymen?
