| Post subject: | Family Feud: Signups!! We need 9 more people, ya know!! |
RE-RE-RE-UPDATE! Well, I've decided to restart the whole Family Feud thing, after some thought. The other thread was getting more than a bit cluttered, and many contestants had left the forum (Badri3211, etc.) I'm restarting signups also, because of the latter. And now the rules. The game mainly consists of answering rather ambigious questions, and instead of trying to get them right, you try to match the most popular survey answer for that question. For instance, for the question "Name a famous George", George Washington may be correct, but the family will still get a strike if the survey doesn't say so. Each correct survey answer is worth one point. There are two families, each consisting of 5 members. At the beginning of the game, the two team captains will face off on one of the questions. Whoever answers first, assuming that answer is on the board, may either let the rest of the family play the question or pass it on to the other family. If nobody answers correctly in the opening face off, the next family member that signed up gets a try. The family in control then attempts to give all the remaining answers on the board. Starting with the next family member in line, each gets a chance to give one answer. The family gets a "strike" if they give an answer that is not on the board. Three strikes cause the family to relinquish control of the board and the other family then gets the chance to steal the cash in the bank if they correctly guess one of the remaining answers. Any remaining answers are then revealed. Questions are played for double and triple points toward the end of the game. The arrangement of double and triple-point questions in the game is as follows (per round, of which there are four): 1-1-2-3. The first family to earn 30 points wins. The winner of the game goes on to play the Fast Money round, where the host asks two different family members the same five survey questions. The first PM's their answers to those questions. If he or she can't think up an answer to a question, he or she may pass and come back to the question at the end. The number of people giving each answer is revealed once all five answers are given or time has expired (whichever comes first). The player earns one point for each person that the "survey said" (not "survey says" as is commonly thought) gave that answer. If one or both family members accumulate a total more than or equal to 20 points, the family wins the top prize (a bannersig proclaiming their win); if they score less than 20, they earn an avatar proclaiming their win. If you want to sign up, please post on this board, as opposed to giving me a private message which I may accidentally delete. Here's to hoping this all works out. We need 10 surveymen (not that fun, but you get reimbursed) and 10 players (maybe eight or six). THE CONTESTANTS: Family 1! Captain: Exhibit A! Underling 1: mathgrant! Underling 2: Ju Ju Master! Underling 3: Underling 4: Family 2! Captain: buhubs! Underling 1: Parakeet05!! (10th signup, w00t) Underling 2: Underling 3: Underling 4: Surveymen 1. Inverse Tiger (yes, C&H does rule) 2. Capt. Ido Nos (don't call me Snorky or Shirley) 3. ButtdanceHR 4. JTHomeslice 5. ModestlyHotGirl 6. artvandelay 7. 8. 9. 10. (By the way, if the 10 slots are already filled, you're still permitted to sign up for more slots if the game hasn't already started. Also, the first 10 surveymen will all play in game 2, if there is one.) |

I'd actually have more fun as a survey guy. Yeah I'm weird. I'll be throwing it off, too. The first George I thought of for the example above was George Clinton. |

Just for your info, in the next Family Feud game, the contestants become surveymen, and the surveymen become contestants. That'll let you all walk in each other's filthy, 35-year-old work boots that your great-great-great-grandfather gave to you to teach you the value of work, but really just taught you where the best places to buy nose plugs are in your hometown. |

This is going along rather smoothly. I hope the signups don't stop abruptly like they did last time. <knocks vigorously on wood> |

Attention! The next person to sign up will be the 10th person to sign up. And I don't just mean it as an arbitrary, celebratory number. By then, we'll be halfway done! So, if you're a player, and your team wins, you'll also get in addition to your sig or avatar proclaiming your win, an avatar or sig proclaiming your signupiness. And if you don't win, you get recognition anyhow. If you're a surveyman, you'll get to play the next game anyway, so it won't matter. Yay, gimmicky advertisements. |

LEGAL DOUBLE POST'D: Gyaarh. Why is it that every time I post on my own thread, I almost kill it? Either that, or people are afraid of commitment these days. Mumble grumble whippersnappers mumble irresponsible brats mumble grumble... <realizes he is at least 5 years younger than the majority of forum members excluding that frog guy> |

This topic is over a year old, guys; I highly doubt it's gonna be happening. Wulf, remember to check the date of sign-up games like this before you bump them
