No. If you try to get the arrows near the archery stand, Mendelev won't let you. The only way to wear the hay is to go with the flow of the game. And that means scaring Poor Gary away.

TOTPD!

Then why would someone include wearing the hay as a way to die? That's not very nice if it's not possible. Someone had to have come up with that somehow.

It must have been a mistake. There's no other explanation for it.

[EDIT: Deleted it on the wiki. There is no possible way to do that.]

The whole "Read error from disk 2" when you get to the bottom of the cliff seems remenicient to an old joke in Monkey Island - there was a stump in the woods which was apparantly the secret entrance to some cavern or maze or something, when you try to enter it it would say "Please enter disk #23". When you refused it would ask for disks 47 and 98, then eventually say "well I guess we can't play that part of the game".

I don't have a save slot before the cliff any more and I'm lazy, also the MI gag was only in the floppy disk version and not in the CD version (of which I have the latter) so I can't confirm the exact quotes or the disk numbers - the wording and numbers changes from one easter egg site to the next - but if "No. That doesn't look like it would fit in your pants." can be taken as a reference to MI then surely this can ;)

I don't like it. The only fun thing I do on it is type these weird things.

Unless you have something constructive to say, stop resurrecting old topics.

By the way, posting your opinion isn't a good enough reason to resurrect.

I beat the game, died 37 times ( 7 of them being the same thing - Old Gary) with a score of 148/150.

148.....Thats just a little less...than 150.
Yep....I remember learning that in school!

Gotta love the text-based games. My personal favourite is Police Quest.

As for Peasant's Quest, I haven't got round to playing it yet. Not enough time!
