(Disclaimer: For legal reasons i Won't Link to the Earthbound/MOTHER2 Rom. However, i WILL link to [url]Google.com[/url], and i will Post the IPS patch. as to the rom, you're on your own. And when you do get the rom, you will need to expand it, or it won't work.
Well, i finally got PK-Hack working, and for a while a thought flew through my head...And i needed something to whet my hunger until H*R RPG2600 comes out.
Awesome+Awesome=Twice awesome, right?
Well, H*R is awesome, earthbound is awesome...Combine the two, and...You get a RPG in the spirit of H*R using a awesome game engine.
Before work can begin on the actual ROMhacking (i have sprites working), Who should be which team member?

My idea (all except those marked finished Will be the best suggestions)
Ness->Homestar (Finished, with some transparency issues.)
Paula->Marzipan
Jeff->Homeschool Winner
Poo-> SB

Now, a potential snag is in the field of enemies. There, i'm out of ideas. Should i use the enemies from Stinkoman 20X6?

(and Onett will become Beeeds. Onett's Tileset doesn't have a U so it cant be FCUSA.)

I think it might be best to use a non-rejected character for Jeff. Strong Sad's a big nerd, why not use him?

So, are you going to make a Homestar Runner flavoured Earthbound, or a completely new RPG using Earthbound's engine?

Homestar flavored earthbound. Too inexperienced with the tile editor to totally overhaul the map yet, plus the tile editor is just oveall too flawed right now.

And...
Giygas->Homsar? makes sense considering the condition of Giygas's Mind...

Lucas isn't in Earthbound. He's in Mother 3, the next game in the series which I hear is really good.

And Poopskin, have you got anywhere yet? I forgot to mention, I tried making an Ed Edd n Eddy flavoured Earthbound mod, and even changing the dialogue took a very long time. It's still unfinished. And I'd previously downloaded the the mod that allows you to name the characters with six letter names at the title screen, and apparently the creator of that mod didn't like the walk through walls cheat, because he made it so that the game freezes when you try it. Now how was I supposed to test it? You need walk through walls to get to the debug menu!

But anyway, that was back in 2004.

Well, i might as well work on it a bit, my other project i'm working on in PK HACK has fallen to a halt because i can't figure out how to fix a Bug in Buzz Buzz's speech.

Even though this topic is two months old and this would be a necropost, I find this order fitting for the characters:

Ness = HR
Paula = Marzipan
Jeff = Bubs
Poo = Pom-Pom
Pokey = SB

And of course...

Giygas = Homsar.

It's been 4 or 5 months since the last post, but I'll share my ideas anyways.
Homestar and Marzipan both have no arms, but can move things around. I assume it's Psychokinesis, so they would be perfect fits for Ness and Paula. I was thinking Strong Sad for Jeff, since he has arms and is a huge nerd, and maybe Pom Pom for poo. Remember the email Pom Pom? He beat Strong Bad up, and Poo has undergone Mu Training...

Strong Bad is the greatest criminal mastermind we have ever known, so he or The King (SBCG4AP Ep: 2 trailer) would be a perfect fit for Pokey.
Mr. Saturn: Miniature Eh! Steve!s. Mini Trogdors just don't seem right.
And of course, for Giygas...

Man I love Earthbound/Mother 2. I remember I got further in Mother 2 without understanding anything at all. (?)

I wish I could run PK Hack. Before I joined here, my computer had to be rebooted (like re-installing, but only the C drive). And now I cant get PK Hack started.
EDIT: I downloaded PK Hack V3, and it works. YAY!

Homsar has a lot more in common than Giygas the reality warping abomination than Frank the random thug. I think Trogdor would make a better Kraken, personally.
