I'm not sure. Try creating levels with a goal at the beginning, and just repeat it a few times to see if it goes on.

Edit: The quote box is gotten by using [ quote ] (no spaces) and [ /quote ]

IM done with this level, i think its ok, but although i DID make it, it seems not all that hard. I want it to be kinda hard, but then i would have to work to test out the end of the level if it was long and hard.

It's good, but I think your MaxVelocity on the screw might be a bit high (I had difficulty jumping it without getting hurt) and also there's a 'warp' bug with the ice skating chickens (forget what they're called) which causes them to suddenly pop in above the long ladder if they've been off screen for too long. At least, that's what seems like is happening. I'm not sure if this is due to your XML tags, or if it's a legitimate game bug. Perhaps the rRanges are set too high, and if they've been off screen for too long they re-appear at their inital X value.

Much guessing done by me.

Can't get that one to work. The other level works though.

Also, I was thinking, what if someone with coding skills made a level editing program for those who find the xml too confusing? We'd see tons more custom levels then!

nice page, prophet :) , except:
it's "background-color", not "back-groundcolor" (you don't want it black anyway - that's the text color) and

EDIT: wait - works in IE
so.....
Code:

            }
            // -->
        </script>

</HEAD>
<body style = "background-color: black; color: white; font-family: tahoma; font-weight: bold;"

Odd, the editing to the HTML file doesn't seem to work. The following simply appears around the Flash file:

For starters...
1. Create a folder called "stinkogame" (anywhere). Create a folder inside this folder named "levelData".
2. Open the game in Internet Explorer (not Firefox). Play level 1 for any amount of time and then close IE.
3. Find the "Local Settings" folder on your computer. This can be the hard part. It's a hidden folder. Open My Computer, C://Documents and Settings/~your logon name~/
4. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
5. Under the View tab, find where it says "Hidden Files and Folders".
6. Make sure you select "Show hidden files and folders".
7. Click OK.
8. There should now be a folder called "Local Settings" that is faded.
9. Open that folder and then open "Internet Temporary Files".
10. Inside this folder, look for these files and copy them into the "stinkogame" folder you created in step 1.
level1.1.1[1].xml
level1.1.2[1].xml
level1.2.1[1].xml
level1.2.2[1].xml
level1.3.3[1].xml
stinkogame[1].swf
stinkogame[1].html
objectLibrary[1].swf
*You can arrange the contents of the "Local Settings" folder alphabetically and see if there are anymore level xml files. You really only need the first one, though.
11. Rename every file so that it doesn't have "[1]" at the end.
12. Move the five xml level files into the "levelData" folder.
13. Now, test the game (stinkogame.swf or stinkogame.html) to see if it works right.

So now, if you want to try an' make a level, just open level1.1.1.xml in notepad and see if you can figure it out, then play (your copy, not online). Post any questions you have about editing in this thread (that's what this's for).
For some added help with coordinates, open the stinkogame.html file in notepad and replace all the text with the text from Prophet's file a few posts above.
Sorry these steps got kinda long, it really isn't that complicated.
Whenever the stinkogame gets updated, you may want to update the stinkogame.swf and objectLibrary.swf file, but not now.

Thus endeth my 200th post.

I think he means the stinkoman_lvl_guide that was made a while back by Chorch. I've popped it onto my webspace, but if Chorch wants me to take it down I'm more than happy to do so.

Edit: It appears to be up on the original site, so maybe he wasn't. I've taken it off mine.

It ignores it and goes straight on from 1.2->brain->2.1

IT would be cool to be able to designe a custom lvl for the brain, but it goes w/ the 1.2 lvl.

and...its hard to type, really hard, to type with frozen fingers.

Actually, I *was* talking about Chorch's document about the internals of the XML files. :) It was down for a while yesterday.

Well, in that case, a mirror (provided unless Chorch wants me to take it down) is here.

I think this is cool. It's reminds me of Chip's Challenge level editor, which lets you make your own levels for the game.

I'll be sure to download it when it's finished.

The guide still says that the Y-range is 0-299
It's really "as low as you want" - 299

Anybody who needs any help with anything with the stinkoman level editing send an email to webmaster@jellob.com with the following information:

Operating system
Problem

Because the advice you guys were giving about the file and folder options and going to C:\Documents and Setting\ are specific to Windows XP.

Only XP, 2000, Server 2003, and Longhorn use that structure.
