Just a silly something I was wondering the other day…

What if TBC were to make a H*R based fighting game along the lines of Tekken or Mortal Kombat? What would some of the characters’ fatality/signature/combo moves be? Which characters would make good bosses? What match ups would you most like to see?

I can envision different levels as you progress through a storyline:
Level 1: vs. old timey characters
Level 2: vs. 20x6 characters
Etc…

The big boss at the end: Trogdor :trogdor: of course. After beating him he would then become available to play.

The cheat’s fatality move:  gnaw your face off!!

I think playing Coach Z vs. anyone would be very funny!!
:coachz: vs. :sm:

What are your ideas?

Great idea! That sounds like lots of fun. :)

Unfortunately, I'm not feeling very creative right now, so I don't have any ideas.

Little tip sbe-mail, you might not want to replace the character's names with their pictures.

Well Sol, using emoticons instead of the actually names tends to get a bit annoying. It's like reading the Highlights magazine....but with no Goofus and Gallant.

So the moral of the story is to please write out the names, ok?

hmm.... seems like I remember some topic about a H*R fighting game a while back... but I can't say for sure...

anyways, Graw Mad would definetly be one of the strongest.
ooh! they should give bubs the ability to "hover two or three inches above the ground)
Senor Cardgage would be interesting, he could like... talk somebody to death... or something...

i tend ti disagree. i've never understood why people dont like visuals as opposed to reading. maybe i'm juts too young to understand, and i still like pictures more than words.

anyways, i think it'd be hard to put Trogdor into a tekken type fighting game. he's be like 50 trillion times bigger than everybody else. maybe he'd be better in a super smash brother style game.

No one ever said fighting games HAVE to be consistent with real life (or unreal life for that matter), Trogdor could easily be resized to fit in the game, he'd be kinda like True Ogre from Tekken 3, since he could burninate and possibly fly, plus in True Ogre's ending video in Tekken 3, it shows him as about godzilla size, so... nobody says anything in those games has to be consistent. (I am a huge Tekken fan, by the way).

Still it would be funny seeing Homestar doing his spin kick move and hitting Trogdor's toenail.

You could fight him against Trogador (20x6) for less comical difference in scale, but I like the huge vs. tiny thing

Isn't there already a thread like this on Games? Maybe I'm just going insane.

Trogdor = Goro, no debate there.

Well, thinking about it, i'd say pom-pom would be a great fighter. He's silent, you know, and a real fighter is so good he doesn't have to say anything. He just looks at you, and you know what he wants. He's that good.

Plus, doesn't he know karate? I'm sure he used it at some point. And hee looks good in a headband. That would be awesome...

Over sized sig lolol.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to see it. It sounds too cliche and such.

While I"m not too keen on adding to an unnecessarily bumped topic, I will say that I once had this idea for a Street Fighter II spoof featuring the H*R characters. The line-up was sorta like this:

Homestar: Ryu
Pom Pom: Ken
Marzipan: Chun-Li
Strong Bad: Guile
The Cheat: Blanka
Strong Sad: E.Honda
Strong Mad: Zangief
Coach Z: Dhalsim

Bubs: Balrog
The KOT: M.Bison
The Poopsmith: Vega
Homsar: Sagat

Each character would probably have a moveset that parodies those who I made them represent.

But the Poopsmith already has an M. Bison costume!

after reading this thread, two images immediately popped into my mind

1. Strong Sad, in his tai-chi outfit, trying to swing nun-chuks
2. Strong Bad doing the Scarface impression, "Say hello to ma lil' fren", then picking up the cheat, who makes machine gun noises while homestar pretends he's being shot at.

but a two-d fighter would be great fun, but only with multi-player. I'd love to see SB's luchadore moves.

Somebody should make some Mugen characters of the HR people. There's your fighting game.

I remember reading about somebody doing that on the fanstuff wiki, but I can't remember if it worked out or not.

I think Homsar should be the final boss, while Trogdor would be the sub-boss.
I REALLY REALLY HOPE THE BROTHERLY CHAPS SEE THIS TOPIC!

No. No MK. That's really nothing TBC would do. But it might be fun if it were a Super Smash Bros. kind of game.

Actually, in the DVD commentary for "pom pom", the Chaps (rather, Matt and Ryan) briefly discuss the idea of a side-scrolling fighting game starring Pom Pom.

ok lemme try, i gotta few custom fatality moves for the charecters

:hr: pipes are broken move
:sb: uses the compy and bashes in the opponents skull
:sm: obviously one of his punches could kill somone
 his extreme ammout of annoying poetry would make the other commit suicide
:cheat: "yeah man i'll gnaw your face off"
:bubs: flushes himself ddown the toilet and becomes king bubs gonzola and "squash"
:coachz: uses a very high pitches whistle and makes the other opponentes head "asplode"
:marzi: simaler to coach zs, she get a huge amp and wails on carol also causing the opponents head to explode
:pom: uses one of his many fighting moves
:kot: his weight is his biggest weapon so just a simple sit on one of the opponnts would kill them from suffication
:poop: awww god, his stench would kill anyone within a 5 mile radius
:homsar: awawawawwawawa and next thing you know "kaboom"

One of Homsar's moves would be him getting in the same car as the one he drives in 'Fall Float Parade' and running the opponent down.

Well, I remember that thread quite clearly since practically everyone who responded was so unnecessarily mean, and I posted some ideas for stages. It's locked now, but here it is for curiosity's sake: http://forum.hrwiki.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13751&hilit=smash+bros+homestar

I had the same idea for Homestar Kombat in 3rd grade. So, for me, this is an oldie, and I also have :hr: sprites if you need them that are meant for this concept.

I could probably make this on something like game maker but, I don't really want to have to learn how to code. Maybe with the help of other forum members though. It's a really good idea though, h*r kombat.
