I think you're close, but I think he's west-northwest of the Washington Monument. That would still allow him to see the Capitol, Washington Monument, and Jefferson Memorial in a left-to-right fashion, but have the Capitol and Washington Monument appear closer together with the Washington Monument more in the foreground than the Capitol. Being in the nearest downtown-like center would put him across the Potomac River into Rosslyn, Virginia.

The + shaped buildings in Exhibits 3, 4, 5, and 7 look to be the River Place Apartment Complex, seen here on satellite. Since he can see all four of those buildings, judging from the circle drive in Exhibit 3, he's probably in this building here, at the SW corner of 17th St N & Fort Myer Dr.

The bright white building in Exhibits 1 and 2 is this one. The beige building in Exhibits 1 and 7 is across the street to the south of the white one. The gray building to the left of the white one in Exhibit 2 is the Key Building. The brown building to the left of the Key Building is this one (Rosslyn Metro Center 1). The building with the roundy top in Exhibit 2 is this one, 1801 North Lynn Street. The tall building on the right half of Exhibit 7 is the beautiful Twin Tower East.

The planes in Exhibits 5 and 7 are on a landing approach to the Reagan National Airport.

Edit: I've found this nifty website, which allows me to learn excessively creepy details about your location. Your building is 1300 17th St N. The white building is the Berkeley Building. The beige building is Park Place.

No, I've never been to the Washington, D.C. area

I didn't notice Joe's post, but, uh, I'm going to use the power of assumption and say that you work around here:

I'm going off of several key landmarks nearby, such as the location in relation to the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial, the location of a nearby apartment complex that has a curved balcony-thingy on the top floor (as seen in Exhibit 2), and that really angular building in Exhibit 1.

EDIT 2: Better image (again). This one shows off the angular building and the curved balcony-thingy that I'm talking about (the orange circles).

EDIT 3: Eh, Joe is probably correct with his creepy pinpointing.

Holy crap. The apartment with the round balcony-thingy that we identified yesterday (1801 N. Lynn Street) is the same apartment that we're picking my step dad's brothers up at for their visit. That's pretty weird.

But nah, if we met up, it'd be really creepy. He's 6' 3'', I'm 5' 2''; he's in his twenties, I'm fifteen; he would think I'm weird, my parents would think he's a pedophile.

But when I get my license...
