So I spent all day coding, and sometime during that I was overcome with the desire to play SMG. So I ride home (lol strangers) and eat dinner, and what do I find? My brother has gone to a school event and taken a wiimote, and both of the numchucks.

Why.

Way to beat an old guy there.

I feel bummed, yet accomplished.

The plug on my laptop where the AC adapter goes is messed up. I took the thing apart (boy, did I ever take the lappy apart) and tried resoldering it. Didn't help.
I've ordered a new one, so with any luck, in a couple days, I should have it back up and running. The accomplished part was two-fold. One, I got the lappy back together and it works (but it'll only run off of battery power until I get that fixed). Two, I got my old desktop out of storage and got it fired up. This thing hadn't been turned on since I was in grad school.

It seems to be running fine for now.
You know, I might just go get some cheap parts and fix this thing up so my wife can have a computer here at home to mess around with.

Haven't looked. I'd say they probably do, but even then, it limits me to a couple hours of usage at a time. I actually thought about looking to see how it takes the power from the plug and sends it across the motherboard to see if there's a way I can hard wire the thing (meaning that the transformer brick and the wall plug would be permanently attached.
It'd be a good "get me by" fix until my wife buys me a new laptop (I say that because she makes twice what I make, but I pay the bills, rent, and insurance).

Of course, I don't have to hard wire the thing yet. I should be getting the replacement plug thing in the mail sometime this week.

The more I read about this problem, the more I see Dell should have done something about it. I think it's hit something like 70% of Inspiron 2200s.
Not a hard or expensive thing for their techs to fix (probably not too hard for me, either, once I get used to soldering again).

I'm feeling busy. Today I have a lot of stuff, and then this week I have a lot of stuff going down.
At least after this week, I only have finals, and then I am done with school.

For a week. And then I have summer school. And I need to take summer school, because I have elected to take science, math, German, and choir all four years of my school life. Add to that the mandatory four years of English, and then three years of History. One semester of health (I'll probably do that on my own time), and one more whole year of P.E. (unless I make Varsity Golf next year, and get it waived).
So I am splitting the semester with two easy classes: one semester P.E., one semester computer apps (is a computer class, which one semester of is required to graduate).

And then next year is going to be hell, with AP Calculus, and AP Physics, third year German, Classical Choir (I dedicate the most of my time to this class, because as most of you know, I want to pursue a musical career, and the class itself is just a huge commitment), History (easiest class), and American or World Lit, I don't remember which. I thought about taking AP English Language, just because it would be the same teacher I had last year...but that was the only reason I thought about it. I am a horrible prompt writer. My teacher for English right now told me directly 500 times that I should never even think about taking APEL, because I would be eaten alive. And yeah, I believe it. I'm barely getting a B in English right now...so just think about it.

HE'S REALLY GOOD AND I'VE NEVER BEATEN HIM IN MY LIFE BEFORE UNTIL YESTERDAY.

Seriously, I'm only like, the 4th person to have ever beaten him.

It would've been a tie. Then we would have gone to a playoff hole just for the hell of it, where he probably would've beaten me.

So yes, you're right.

Actually all he needed was to shoot a 7 and he would have won.

Horrible. Just, really horrible.

I'm gonna have a hard time falling asleep tonight. I know there's nothing I can do about it right now and I should stop worrying, but that only makes it worse.

(sorry for being so cryptic, I just needed to vent)

Sorry to hear about that, Ju Ju.

I have also had some trouble sleeping the last few nights, though my reason is mainly because of thinking about how someday, we'll all be experiencing an infinite state of nothingness. It really puts the length of life into perspective. Unless one's religion has an afterlife, in which case, it makes the subject even harder to wrap thoughts around. Ah well, time to go chew some gum.

I'm feeling good. Went drinking tonight. Got a lady's number there. I consider it a good night.

Meh. I get to skip Math 8 (which is the easiest class ever) and move on up to Algebra 9 next year, which means I'm taking it with the freshman idiots.

You'll never call her and it's probably a fake.

Heh, yeah, I know. Sorry. I just needed to get that out. You know that feeling.

You know, that's never really been a problem for me. Some religious friends of mine have asked me, "How can you not believe in an afterlife, aren't you afraid of just not existing?" But we won't actually be "experiencing a state of nothingness" - from our view, it won't even be happening, we won't be there to experience it. It won't actually actively be happening, thus I've never really had a problem with it.

I didn't say you didn't get the number. I said you'll never call her and it will most likely not work out.

I'm about to go to a Foreigner concert.

Bleh. They have a few good songs, but nothing extraordinary, in my opinion.
