WELL IT IS.

It's just, there's a lot of really bad anime, like mew mew power and all that rubbish out there, so so many people just say they hate all anime.

But it's not ALL bad...

I concur. There's not many animes I enjoy, but there are a few. And of the ones I do enjoy, they tend to be very different from each other. Compare Macross Plus with The Slayers for example: I like the humor of The Slayers, but if I just want to kick back and watch some kick-butt action, I watch M+. Then, of course, there's Cowboy Bebop, sort of a dark crime drama, though not devoid of humor, but with excellent writing, music, and overall atmosphere.

Frankly, Cowboy Bebop ruined anime in general for me: it showed me what a quality series could look like, and after that, I've had pretty high standards in what I like, and I just haven't seen that much to compare anymore.

But I suspect that most of this anime hatred is because there is a lot of weird crap out there, and a lot of very poorly written stuff based on weak concepts. And frankly a lot of it sells well over here because there are some American otaku who will buy just about anything.

YES!!! I 100% agree with you! I don't like Seinfeld at all and everyone thinks its the funniest show on the flippin' planet.
