EDIT: Meh, you childrens.

At this point in time, my signature looks like a basic landscape (let's say that it's an interpretation of Forumopolis). However, with the help of Mike's programming skills, I am in the process of making it much more than a simple image.

Depending on the time of day you look at this signature, you'll come across one of four different variations of the ambiance in this landscape. While that seems a little lacking in complexity, in the future, we hope to add in many more features:
  • Seasons
  • Different times for these lighting variations depending on the season
  • Weather effects, such as overcast and fog
  • Images for specific days, Forum-related or not

The list goes on from that.

The current times for the signature changes should be set to the following:
    6 AM - 8 AM: Sunrise
8 AM - 10 AM: Morning (bright blue sky)
    10 AM - 5 PM: Daytime
    5 PM - 6 PM: Sunset
    6 PM - 6 AM: Nighttime

If this isn't working properly for you, be sure to click on my sig to synchronize your time with the image. It's a really simple process; it shouldn't take more than 10 seconds or so to complete unless you need to know your time zone in relation to GMT.

It works like magic! How could a server side script possibly figure out your local time? 1337 haxxing, most likely.

Edit: It's five in the morning and I'm bored so in anticipation of weather (which probably won't happen for a while) I put in a weather sync form at the disksig page. The instructions on how to sync up the weather are on the page. Hopefully what I'm planning out will work and I won't be wasting your time. =P

I am lovin' your signature disk, if it snowed inside there, or rained or...blew wind, that would be awesome.

That's in the process.

And by process, I mean that I've thought of it, though I'm too lazy to open up GIMP and do it. It'll definitely take awhile to make, though; using the power of mathematics, I will probably have around 100 - 200 images altogether with my current plans.

Well, I got sick of Monta and Baron already, so I went with two excellent makers of golf gear: Nike and Titleist.

Looks like good progress so far. *crosses fingers for tiny pixels of people to show up in signatures*

It'd be like a...Bio-Banner.

More people put their city names into the code box instead of their city codes, so I'm going to make this ultra-easy to follow guide to preparing for Disk Sig weather:

Step One: Search for your city at http://www.theweathernetwork.com/
Step Two: Once you've found the city you can find your weather code in the URL box of your browser.
Image
Step Three: Copy and paste that code into the weather sync box and click "Sync Weather". Your city should appear in bold with your city code in braces.

Mang, Disk, that's awesome. I synced up the weather thing, too.

The closest city they have to mine is probably either New Paltz or Danbury. :[

Naw, he really doesn't. but if I'm completely wrong, that works well. Avatars are supposed to represent you, after all.

But I DON'T HAVE A BEARD.

In that case, mine fails at representing me. I look nothing like John Flansburgh. Too scrawny. And female. D:
