Physic, maybe?

I feel like crud. The virus in my throat sucks. I have to take an inch long horse pill to get rid of it. I also have to gargle this pasty substance that makes my mouth numb, which makes it feel more uncomfortable then when I didn't, and I also have to gargle salt water, which makes me gag.

*Insert awesome smiley here, k?*

Feeling pretty good here. I got an award I didn't expect to get tonight and I just got done reading one of the funnier things I've seen in a while.

That'll get your brain running.

You're a run-aholic. How do you do it with that ball 'n chain?

I pretend it's one of those old-timey cartoon bombs.
Believe me, you can run like the wind when you think you're gonna get kersploded.

I'm feeling pretty good. Hung out with a lady friend, got some ice cream, watched the office. Came back and watched what happened after I left the Pathetic Ramrod Festival. Now I'm aiming it up with another lad friend over aim while I polished off some cookies. Content, I guess the word is :)

28:29.12
I've picked up 2 minutes from my run last week, but I'm still 11-12 minutes off of the winning pace (not that I expect to match that).
I finished a lot higher in my group, but I'm 6 minutes off the class-winning pace. Oh well... I'll get there, sometime.
For someone who did well to run to the fridge from the couch last year, I'm happy with me.

Oh, I'm very happy that I've made it.
There are those who would scoff at the fact it took 20 minutes or more, but who cares...
I got beat by that 74 year old man again (but he only beat me by about 6 minutes this time)

A better course of action would be to not worry yourself to death over it.

Oh, last night my high school's track and field team won their section championship meet.

You see, at the end, we were tied with some D-II school called Mt. Shasta. Their coach didn't wanna tie with a D-III school, so he went to the judges and asked for a points recount. After the recount, it turned out we had two points more than they did. lol, wuttadouche.

I FEEL VICTORIOUS.

Many combolations, Elizagerth!

One has to wonder what kind of boobs they have judging a competition when they can't keep the scores straight.
If I were 3rd place, I'd demand a recount, too.

Probably not any longer... I ran all-out and practically blacked out at the finish... My best two-mile was 11:13 (about 5:36 per mile, but it came on a day when I was tired), and my best 5k last year was 18:26 (averaging about 5:56 per mile). So yeah, there was kind of a long story to that mile run. Sophomore and junior years, I had been kinda 'stuck' in the 5:20s, and I made it my goal this year to break 5, and I actually started getting pretty good. I ran 5:03 the last meet, thinking it was the end, then I got to run at conference. Then I ran 5:02, thinking for sure that was the end, and then our second-best miler (I'm the third-ish-best on the team) dropped out of regionals, and he let me take his place. My coach told all the parents at our team dinner that I was trying to break 5, and that they'll hopefully be able to write something with a 4 in front of it as my PR on my senior gift thing, so the pressure was on yesterday and everyone and their parents knew. I sprinted as hard as I could possibly imagine for the last 300 meters, and my official time turned out to be 4:59.8... a pretty good end to my HS running career. (For the record, I've been running for about 4 years, and the first time I ran a 5k at home it was definitely over 30 minutes.)

I would kill someone to be able to run a mile in less than 8 minutes. Gotta get in shape this summer.

You're doing better than me, then.
Of course, this time last year, I was doing good to run to the fridge from the couch.

Getting beat by the 74 year old guy is still eating at me.
I don't care if he beat almost everyone in my group. That's still weird... I mean, instead of running with an iPod, he had a record player on his back. Well, not really, but still...

My best mile is somewhere in the range of 5:20.

Of course I was rowing at the time....

Running, now that's like 8:something. Wheee slow. Like many other people, ima need to work out.

I feel tired, I'm going to bed.
