My best mile was 0.1 SECONDS!

Actually, even after doing a sport this year, my mile was about 7:21. Not too good, not too bad.

I'm feeling kinda tired. I was mad earlier on because my internet wouldn't work despite all of my methods of fixing it, but now I'm stealing my neighbor's. Yay for me!

Thanks!
Most of my running is in downtown Frankfort. With a few exceptions, it's a running-friendly city. As long as you stay off of Wilkinson Blvd and out of the hood, you'll be OK.

I make good use of the hill on Capital Avenue. That thing is a beast for an out of shape person like myself.
I can't wait until the Buffalo Trace Distillery race in July.
Sure, it's in July, but it's a run through the woods, and the best part is that there's only a couple gentle hills. No 200 foot elevation changes over the course of 3/4 mile.

7:44 mile over hurr. I'm frequently short of breath, but not asthmatic or anything.

I feel peeved off.

Can SOMEONE write this paper for me? It's about an imaginary animal, and how its brain effects its behavior, emotion, reasoning, etc.

And if I hear any more crap from the TV behind me, I swear to God I will smash its screen in.

Apparently, my cardio training has paid off.
It takes a LOT for me to be out of breath.
My running speed/distance is limited because of crappy knees and shin splints.

They say the only cure for shin splints is rest, but if I wait for them to heal, I'll never get back off the couch when they do.

The knees are taking care of themselves. Apparently, the cartilage is rebuilding itself because the joints are getting more impact/use.

Well, there are little exercises you can do to strengthen your shins to help/prevent shin splints. The idea is to strengthen the muscle in front of your shin and the one opposite of it in some way. I usually try to just bend my foot up and use the other foot to resist the motion and hold it for a few seconds, and either it works or I've been blessed with pretty good shins (to make up for my rather weak stomach and lungs, which usually causes me to puke after long races).

My (ugly) running shoes have gone a long way to help my shins.
Apparently, you DO get what you pay for (or at least what you're supposed to pay for) when you buy running shoes.
The ones I have were clearance ($40), but the original price was something near $140.
They are ugly, but I love the way they feel.
Comfort >>>>>>>>>>>>>> looks when it comes to shoes.

Ugh, I remember shin splints during the lacrosse season. I missed one game and probably ten practices because of them. I just stretched my calves and took a break from running-related things for a week, and I was fine when running in cleats. However, I still occasionally get shin splints when running in regular shoes.

Then go see Asclepius atop of Mt. Olympus. It'll be a long, painful, but rewarding journey.

Wow, you have a crappy, overcrowded doctor's office. The one I used to go to could get you an appointment in two days at the most. Most of the time, you could get an appointment for later in the day! Same thing at my new doctor. I think. I rarely get really sick anymore, so I have no clue.

But I know it's better than my first doctor. Always overcrowded and went under went it stopped accepting Medicare or summat.

I remember the doctor...all those years ago. the waiting room had a box full of lame toys, and when I got into the room, I had to pee in a jar. disappointing.
