Yesterday I went to a psychologist for the first time in my many years of life. Looooong overdue for that. He's thinking anxiety disorder, but seems hopeful that it can be corrected for the most part by tinkering with my thought processes. Wish I'd gone earlier... like... 8 years ago. Wouldn't have wasted entire years of life holed up worried about stuff.

My mum thought I was depressed so she made me go to a psychiatrist for ages. But I spent the whole time lying to him. Funny, some of the conclusions he made.
Um, but anyway, I don't have any mental issues, except for being antisocial. Everyone who I meet at first thinks I'm a big jerk because I don't talk to them and sort of stand around looking grumpy.

I have asperger's. Which really isn't that much of a surprise considering i'm on the internet =p

I don't use it as an excuse for everything bad that happens to me like some people do. Having asperger's is no excuse to act like a total jerk.

I have a very minor organizational OCD. I have to keep all my books, manga volumes, DVDs, CDs, and video games in perfect alphabetical order. I will completely freak out on my friends when they put something back in the wrong place. I have a huge CD case that I keep all my DVDs in, and whenever I buy a new DVD, I have to sit down, take them all out, and then put them all back with the new one placed correctly in the alphabet. There are a bunch of other things I do that have to be done just the right way, too. For example, all my windows on my computer have to maximized. If I'm watching someone use a computer and firefox isn't maximized, I will take control of the mouse and maximize it for them. Also, my TV's volume is done in numbers up to a maximum of 60. Watching TV and playing video games is done at 25, Guitar Hero and Rock Band are played at 30, and movies are watched at 35. If for some reason I have to turn the TV down due to someone sleeping or other extenuating circumstances, the volume MUST be set at a multiple of five. I will instruct whoever has the remote to do so. Finally, whenever I buy a hot drink at Starbucks, I have to align the logo on the cardboard thingy with the logo on the cup. If I don't do it, I can't drink it.

Wait, I heard somebody say something about the "volume being a multiple of five" thing on /b/ before.

Was that you?

Oh man, I do at least half of those things...
I'm always on the lookout for potential problems that I might have. There's been issues of varying degrees in different parts of my family, including OCD, so I always have that sort of thing running through the back of my head.

But seriously? Those darn cardboard thingies should have adhesive on the inside to keep them dead centered. It's make life SO much easier.

I do those things. Not the exact numbers, but very close. Firefox MUST be maximized. Except for that "I will instruct who ever has the remote to do so" I just get up and go change the volume myself, and if anyone else changes the volume, I change it to exactly how I want it to be. Also, on Mac computers, the volume can be turned up and down on the keyboard, and it shows little boxes, and the filled boxes are the amount of volume. For me, the volume must be a multiple of three. I never turn the volume all the way up, because that wouldn't be a multiple of three.

Yeah, Rhin, I don't think you have OCD. In my opinion, it's not OCD unless it gets in the way of your life.

You mean, like, you seriously don't, or you're just not breaking rules 1 and 2?

Um, what? By not ever, I mean ever. Like, I've never even been there. What are rules 1 and 2? I'm not sure I understand.

Probably not, he's not the only one with that problem. I'm like that too.

And no, it wasn't me either.

I don't have OCD, but it bothers me when things aren't in the order I prefer. If the toolbars in Firefox aren't arranged in the way I'm used to, I try to change them back as best I can. I think that's probably because I have Asperger's Syndrome.

I don't know if I have OCD, there are stupid little things that don't really matter that I obsess about, and I guess that is OCD in a sense. But it doesn't feel like OCD.

I hurt myself again...I was frustrated, and I scratched up my forehead again. It stings.

Yeah. I do that when I'm frustrated, like I said.

I just pull out my eyebrows when I'm frustrated. I tried out banging my head against the nearest surface, but it hurt to much.

Watch me get all AP Psychology on you. Mental disorders are categorized in varying degrees of severity. People can exhibit various characteristics of disorders, but it is only when normal daily functioning is impaired that intervention is required. Of course, this depends on one's definition of the ever-vague term "normal". Feel free to refute me, that's just what I remember from my high school Advanced Placement Psychology class three or so years ago. I have been accused of crackpottery many a time.

Speaking of OCD...

I can sympathize with you about desire to keep my preferred order: I am very particular about the arrangement of my interfaces on computer programs. I almost become physically stressed when my action bars in World of Warcraft are out of place or in disarray. Though I am prone to bouts of laziness and refuse to check my e-mail for a week or so, I become distressed and sort mail into their correct folders and ensure that everything is marked as "read" so the names aren't in bold.

Once again on the topic of World of Warcraft, I renew beneficial spells/abilities ("buffs") whenever I have the opportunity, I like seeing "30 minutes remaining" instead of "14 minutes remaining". If a short-term buff is about to run out (its icon fades in and out), I will manually cancel it by right-clicking on the icon. Man, I am really frigging weird.

Oh, and I ALWAYS use Internet Explorer/Firefox in non-maximized mode.

When I get really ticked off, I tend to bite my arm. :/ It REAALLY hurts.
Or I break pencils in half if I can find them. :/

I think I may have anxiety though...
I'm REALLY anxious/nervous.
And my mom thinks I have a little ADHD which is porlly true.
'Cause I can't focus on AANNYTHING. :]

Well, I'm going to go ahead and tell Myrrh to please not starve yourself into a coma or anything. Believe me, you want to stay healthy.

As for me, I have no mental issues whatsoever, except, of course, for the homicidal rages. But other than that, I'm positively Norman Normal!

Actually, the only thing I can think of is that I'm a little OCD about keeping my hands and clothes clean, and whenever I read anything, I always have to divide the lines of text into groups of three. I don't know why I do this.

I have no mental problems. My self esteem is sort of low, but that's it.
