Hey, I remember an actual dumb thing I actually thought as an actual child!
I used to always watch science fiction movies with my dad (because that is all he ever watched) and he used to have to explain the complicated plot lines to me. But whenever he did I thought he was talking about actual people in the real world with space ships and laser guns etc.
...and I never realised he only told me about these things when we were watching t.v.

I thought by explaining your age by holding up your index, middle, and ring finger, you were a different age from the people who held up their middle, index, and thumb.

I eventually counted how many fingers were held up both ways, and saw it was 3 either way.

I used to think that if I ran fast enough, a sort of firebubble would surround me. Kinda like in DBZ. I also could've sworn that a spark formed directly in front of me while I ran around my living room.

Back around ten years ago when I was using Windows 95 computers, whenever a program crashed I always thought the "illegal operation" error messages that would come up would be in reference to actual illicit operations.

Darn Windows and those serial murderers somehow associated with it!

Exactly. I would be so scared of the illegal operation box that I avoided programs that did it often. And I was really freaked out when the BSoD appeared.

Also, I thought water and electricity shouldn't mix at all. Like, a person shouldn't be on the computer when they just came out of the shower.

I also thought, when I was seven or eight, that kids were supposed to be afraid of the dark. I got myself to belive a monster was lurking in my room somehow.

Then, I also thought FM was similar to AM and PM. I was always confused that I only saw AM/FM on radios, so I thought it was another way to say PM.

Oh, and scary noises from stove + red flame instead of blue = HOUSE BURN DOWN TO THE GROUND

Yes, I am aware that I'm weird. But, I still have some fear over fire, still.

YES STILL.

I'd be freaked out by that right now, even if I was using a Windows computer.
