Well, I am now, at least. Or rather, I'd like to think I am now, even if I can't delude myself into thinking that's what I used to be. Also, I'm not really new to this forum, strictly speaking, although it's been so long since I've been here I might as well be. So, I apologize if I missed the "weclome back" topic.
Anyways, enough beating around the bush. I'm Ingiald, FKA Clever Ben, FKA CE5. If you don't recognize any of those names, (search indicates no one has posted any of them for over a year), then that's probably for the best. I first found this wiki when it was first starting up, in the winter of 2003, if I remember correctly. The main thing I can remember doing on that account was getting into rather...heated arguments with people over the most pointless of subjects (like, for instance, whether double spacing things on the internet was ever appropriate or necessary). It's not that I was a troll, as "troll" implies that somebody is intentionally acting in a certain way in order to get a response, usually negative. It's just that I was dense enough to think that anyone disagreeing with me on anything was Serious Business. Anyways, eventually I got banned for it, but since I was on dial-up I kept getting back on anyway, and the first few times I thought it was because I was unbanned.
Anyways, skip ahead to June of 04. I finally wised up and realized they were going to ban me if I revealed who I was, so I came back under the new moniker "Ingiald" (which I still use on various other sites). I was slightly more civil and tolerable, by which I mean I stopped blanking people's user pages when they disagreed with me. I was still pretty intolerant though, and ended up getting banned under the "bigotry" rule, I believe. That was...summer or fall of '04, if I remember correctly.
Finally, I came back one more time, this time as "Clever Ben". Only this time, I didn't really care about the forum as much as I did. I was only on the wiki, and made a few contributions on the discussion pages. I think that account is still unbanned, more because of my not coming here as much than being any nicer.
Anyways, I still visit the wiki now and then, and a few weeks back I was going to register on the forum and remembered that I was still banned, and remembered what a little...how to phrase this without breaking the "no swears" rule...jerk, jerk is a good word...I was when I was here. So I decided that as soon as I got on a computer whose IP wasn't banned, I'd make amends.
So, here I am. I'm sure if I remembered better what all I did here (my memory's a little fuzzy, whether from the fact that it's been so long or that I've blocked it out due to shame. Probably both) I could come up with a doctoral thesis on how many different ways I was an idiot and how sorry I am. But, I can't, so I'll just apologize for what I remember. So anyways, I'm sorry to the forum in general for how I called anyone who dared to disagree with me a moron, all my bigoted and otherwise offensive comments, and for all my random, stupid little posts that made no sense.
So, now that I've got that off my chest, I was curious of something. Admins, do you think I've been punished enough? Because if not go ahead and (re)ban me, I certainly won't object. Or, if there was some rule about getting perma-banned if you try getting around a ban...that's okay too, I guess. I probably still deserve it. But I would like to visit here every now and then, if you'll allow it.
