I'll be born and raised in his Detroit.

I'll hold onto his feeling.

I do. When the so-called "interpretation" is a mere attempt to bypass what the text actually says. "Interpretation" doesn't give you the right to ignore what it says, nor does it give you the right to make it mean what you want it to mean. You let the text shape you, not the other way around.

...-_-

*palmface*

Besides, gay people didn't CHOOSE to be gay...

And why would that be a facepalm? It's the most sensible approach to the text. Otherwise, people can just make up anything they want and claim the Bible supports it. If anything, you're whole "Let's just reinterpret it to mean what we want it to mean" is the statement worthy of a facepalm.

As I've made it abundantly clear on numerous occasions, as a theologian, I'm not interested in how people WANT to interpret the text. I'm only interested in what the text actually says.

Maybe they can't choose who they are attracted to, but they certainly can choose how they act on those attractions. Nevertheless, it still doesn't change the meaning of the texts.

Perhaps you're not paying attention. R&P is one forum down from here.

Perhaps you weren't paying attention. I'm not the one who brought it back up just now. Mandy criticized me, and I responded.

Whoa, either drop it or go elsewhere. This is a drama free zone. Savvy?

None of this about the bible would matter to people who don't believe in God.

But you were the one who brought it up first, dude. You could have just stayed out of it, no harm done.

And now I am also staying out of it.

Me? I'd go gay for...

OK, I have no idea.

I suck.

BTG's right. Any serious discussion or whatnot about whether homosexuality is right or wrong should go in R&P. So let's drop this.

Me? I can't think of anyone but Moleman. No one else compares.

I don't know but it has occurred to me
The punishment that they threaten constantly
It's only real if they could just convince me
We're going down, down, down to Mephisto's Cafe

Down, Down, Down to Mephisto's Cafe - Streetlight Manifesto

I'd go gay for Mike Soprano from Streetlight. There's a rumor going around that he's gay, so half the battle's already won.

So much stuff has happened on this forum we could actually write a parody of that song based off the HRWF.

Oh, and I agree with Didy. No one.

(Maybe Moleman. And that's an EXTREME maybe. [s]Nah.[/s])

Umm... He's not gay.
There are no gays in Iran.
Just like there were no Jews in Berlin in the early 40's.

Probably for the same reason, too.
