Mine was a tanning bed cleaner. I was alone on my first day, my boss was a micromanager, and I just wasn't strong enough to get those freaking spots out so quickly.

I think my job right now is going to be my worst job ever. My manager's making me work the day after I have dental surgery.

I wonder how many people on this forum have jobs.

I don't have a job, but I know somebody who had a really icky job at one time. He worked for a rancher, and he was required to throw all the dead cows into a big pit. Apparently, it smelled.

My worst job has to be coming up with the time to work on writing a novel. That's not really a true job at this point, but whatever.

As I've only had two jobs, and I adored the second one, my worst ever job is presently working at Target as a cashier on breaks. It makes very poor pay and they will not give me the hours I want, time or amount. Worse of all, they're making it difficult to get out of. I keep saying that I'm leaving leaving, but then they only give me forms that say when I'm available again. I'm just not going to call them back this summer.

I worked at this deli place a few years back.

They owners were always talking about me in arabic. The place had gas pumps out front, but they hadnt worked since the late 80s. I pretty much did all the work. The two old men sat there at the register while I swept, stocked shelved, filler orders, and all other sorts of stuff. It wouldnt have been so bad if they did stuff during the day. I only worked 3 hours at night. 5-8 PM I think. These guys wouldnt do anything all day, so when I got there, there was all thgis crap to do.

Dishes needed to be done, the floor had to be swept and mopped, the coffee machine had to be seviced, garbage had to be taken out, and was overflowing, becuase they hadnt taking it out all day.

$5/hour isnt worth that. It was under the table. I didnt have it so bad though.

The person who took my spot was a girl, which wouldnt be a problem, except for the fact that the two old arabic men were extremely sexist. They were even worse to her than they were to me. And she only got $4/hour, with no day off.

The kid who worked there after she quit, died. he was one of my friends. He was in gym class, and one of my other friends throw a volleyball at him really hard, and apparently he had an enlarge heart and just kinda died.

I just think the deli was haunted. It was recently torn down.

Hmm...I've really only had three jobs. Probably working at the fish fry place. It sucked. Worked 11 hours each Friday, coming home smelling horrible. Plus Good Friday and Christmas Eve were the busiest days of the year.

You know something, though, I refuse to hate that place. I mean, I DID choose to work there. The horrors I went through were more a result of the customers, not the management (I did work for a real jerk for a while, but eventually I found I could amuse myself by annoying him). The only thing that company did to me was keep me from punching customers in the throat with their "Satisfaction Guaranteed" attitude.

I've only had one job technically, and I think it will end up being my worst job ever. I had to work as a day camp counselor. Apparently, I wasn't allowed to leave the grounds without permission, even after my hours were over (I'm your employee, not one of your wards!) but nobody mentioned this at ALL until after I had done that several times.

Then, a week before the camp was over, I got fired for "not being cheerful enough around the kids." I had a fever of 102 that day and I was a regular ray of sunshine the rest of the time, even as kindergarteners constantly gnawed away at me (literally) and being forced to spend hours out in the blazing sun and humidity every day.

Eh, working is easier than having to ask the 'rents for money every time you need some. Unless, of course, you're one of those kids that got everything they wanted whenever they wanted it.

See, my parents will give me anything I want, but they make me either volunteer or get a paying job every summer, because they don't want me sitting around the house.

I'd rather get paid to work than volunteer, and I thought I'd enjoy the job because I love working with kids. The kids were great, but my bosses were a disgusting menagerie of foul beasts.

See, in California, I think you have to be 16 to have a real job. Seeing as how I am only 15, I currently lack a job of any sort.

Personally, I've always liked working with kids. But I know it's not for everyone.

My worst job was one I had a few years ago. It was labeled as "graphic artist", but I found out the first day that my role would be nothing more than typesetting (literally picking out the style of font and the layout of text while someone else worked on the actual graphics part of the ads.) The boss had a nasty temper, nearly all of the employees cursed (if you'll pardon the expression) like sailors, and the 15-mile drive to work took over an hour and a half with rush-hour traffic. They were also really strict on hours. If you clocked in 30 seconds late, you were docked half an hour's pay, but if you clocked in half an hour early or stayed late, you didn't get paid for the extra time. You just worked for free.

What really did it for me was this -- There was one lady there who was in her 60's. She was an absolute sweetheart. Reminded me of my grandmother. But she told me she'd been doing this same job for 30+ years, and I thought to myself, "Geez. Do I still want to be doing this same thing thirty years from now?"

When I got home from work that first night, there was a message on my answering machine from another place I'd applied for nearly six months prior. So the next day, I called this other company on my 30-minute lunch "hour", set up an interview that evening after work, and tendered my resignation over the phone the next day. (Tacky way to do it, but it was in the paperwork I signed that for the first 30 days I was on a "probationary period" and either I or my boss could terminate my job at any time.)

Yeah. If I would have done all my license stuff sooner, I would have a job by now. But I don't have my license yet, so I have to wait until August for that.
But, I have no idea where I want to work.
