I think we had this before but it got purged.

Anyway, for me:

Movies
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
I used to cry when Yoda died. Not anymore tho.
However, still cry when Darth Vader dies
All three of the LOTR movies have something that makes me cry. 1: Boromir's death, without a doubt. 2: Sam's speech. 3: Frodo saying "go home", Pippin asking Gandalf about death, and of course, The Grey Havens.

Animation
Three words: Land Before Time.
The ending of Azumanga Daioh. Even worse because it was one of those unexpected ones. You know, when something's not supposed to be all touching and crap and then hits you out of the blue? Yeah. That surprise always makes it worse.
In b4 Fry's dog.

Books
Dobby dying in Deathly Hallows.

Other
why did you have to die dina
why

There's more but I don't feel like it right now.

The movie My Dog Skip comes to mind right away.

I Am Legend.
The end of The Tommyknockers.
"Wilson's Heart" episode of House.

Probably others but I can't think of them right now.

I don't cry for fictional stories. The only movie that ever made me cry was "The Perfect Storm," and that was only because it was based on a true story, so I knew the people I was watching die had actually died in real life in more or less that same way.

I think I cried when my parents got divorced. But that was like 5 years ago.

Anything with a tragic villain, like the MOTHER games, Harry Potter, etc, always get me.

You've never cried because of Harry Potter, and if you have, you've lost half my support.

The only movie that ever made me cry was "The Last Samuri"(sp?)

Unlike most emotional movies it actually had enough action to keep me awake through the sad bits.

And when I say this everybody goes all rampage on me!

"Lucky of the Fryrish" was a sad episode. I didn't cry at the dog though.

The first time I saw LOTR movies I sort of cried. But you see, I never really cry during movies. Just sort of feel sad and get a little bit of water in my eyes.

Everything! I'm a huge crier. Let's see if I can list some...

- Negative feedback for something I feel very proud of
- Fictional sad stories (movies, TV, books, etc...)
- When somebody shows that they care when I'm feeling down
- Laughing way too hard/much
- Family members dying/thinking of family members dying

And that's probably just the tip of the iceberg. Sob sob sob is me...

In an ironic twist of fate, the one thing that makes me cry is something that I'd rather keep to myself here. It's highly embarrassing and I don't think any of you would understand.

That line made me think of this.

I cry watching "Finding Nemo" in French. And given how much I cry when I watch "Ratatouille", I can't imagine how much I'd cry if I watched THAT in French, too.

The fact that it took me a month to beat quickman. oh well, it made it that much more rewarding to get past those F'in lazers and drive his buttocks into the floor.

No, you're right, I haven't, but I always feel really bad for Voldemort.

I don't get the sympathetic villain vibe from Voldemort. Sure, maybe when he was starting out, but he's just inhuman, even for the wizard's standards. And I still don't get the thing with the dead fetus in Harry's mind.

In Einoo's post, the "go home sam" in RotK just absolutley killed me. I just lost it when Frodo said that, I wanted to kill Gollom but then I realized he wasn't real

um. For movies, I cried during the one scene in the rugrats movie where everyone deserts tommy and dill and they're under the tree in the rain. and then I cried in Click, and the jail scene of Clerks II. I hadn't cried in film much since then, but the end of Requiem for a Dream hit me hard. Books? I don't cry much in books, but when I was 10 I did cry when all the kids died in Among the Hidden. In real life it's rare that I cry. if I do it's usually because of a girl ;_;

Click was really sad for an Adam Sandler movie.

I also cried during Monster's Inc. but in my defense I was like seven.

-Phoenix Wright case 3-5 ending
-Mr. Monk and the Candidate: The graveyard scene
-Excruciating pain
-And I have no idea why, but the movie I'm writing
That's all I can think of at the moment...

That's Voldemort's real soul. The one that he will have to deal with in the afterlife. After mangling his soul so much with the horcruxes, he destroyed a lot of what he was.

I sympathize with him because I sympathize with a lot of villains. To see someone with such promise turn into such an inhuman thing...I dunno, it's something I like to see in books/etc.

This. That was another surprise one.

The movie Hardball gets me every time when the little kid dies and they're at his funeral.

The idea of death.
When someone brings it up, it just makes me think of life being equivalent to death.

All the points people have mentioned in LOTR make me sad.
There was also this book I read in Grade 6 called Red Sky in the Morning.
Very, very sad bit.
Probably one of the only times I've actually cried at a book.
A lot of films I've felt sad in, when they are made well and a character you love dies.
I felt sad in Serenity for god's sake!
Another thing that gets me is songs, such as Eleanor Rigby (sometimes), Bjork's Bachelorette or Radiohead's Videotape. Not exactly crying. But an emotional feeling that I actually enjoy getting from songs.
Oh and the LOTR soundtrack...
Especially Into the West.
Anyone who loves the film should break down in this song. First time I saw it, and this 3-4 year journey of film was over I was sad. And if you've seen the doco on the extended version and find out the story of the guy this song was dedicated to, it'll have even more meaning to you.
