Ace sat there. Alone. Waiting. The small light dangled above his head, dimly illuminating the room.

He was sitting at a large metal table with 2 other chairs at either end of the table. They weren't here yet.

What am I doing? He thought. He didn't want to do this. He knew what he had gotten himself into was wrong. But he couldn't back out. Could he? He put his head on the desk, but suddenly lifted it up again to hear the creak of the door handle.

The door flung open. A man walked in and the door swung shut again. It looked as if he too didn't want to go through with this.

He took off his black leather jacket, which had "BTG" on the back and rested it on the top of the chair. Ace all the while following his every move. But he suddenly jumped back in his chair as the man pulled out a gun.

A gun.

"Smith and Wesson .38 special". Ace said. The long slender style of the gun interrupted abruptly by the 2 sawn off barrels.

He also softly threw 6 bullets at him, they rolled down the table towards Ace.He stopped them with his hand and picked one up to take a closer look.

"You try buy this crap in a store". Said the man. "beyond the Grave's the name".

"Ace".

"Your gang put you up to this?"

"Yeah." said Ace. "Surely they'd have a better way to solve this than..." he sighed...

"Russian Roulette?"

More to come.

"I ain't seen you recently." Ace said.

"Cause I'm not from here."

"Huh?" What Ace was about to say was interrupted by the door swinging open, catching both Ace and BTG's attention.

In he came. The man had blond hair, glasses, looked rather tall and lanky and sported a smirk on his face. He sat down, pushed the chair back and put his feet on the table.

"Nike's", Ace thought. It almost looked as if the man was confident he'd come out alive.

"Name's Ian", the man said. "You idiots in here for the same reason I am?"

"Yes."

"Yes."

"Well then, let's get this show on the road. I'll go first." he reached for the .38 and a bullet.

"What are you doing?" retorted BTG.

"What?" replied Ian, "you should be happy I'm going first. For all you know I could blow the brains out of my face first time out."He snapped open the Smith and Wesson. BTG slumped into his chair as Ian continued.

"There's one bullet." Ian said, placing the gold bullet in the gun's cylinder. "Odds of five to one. For now." He snapped the gun back into position, the loud snap one of the only few things to register in Ace's mind.

"He could kill himself right now." he thought as Ian spun the cylinder and put it to his head, and held the trigger tightly.

"Let's have some fun".

He pulled.

This is awesome. I need more of it. I want to know more!

Not very deep thoughts (or even very complex sentences), but gimme a break. I'm tired.

"Damn....." An incredulous look of relief and shock hit all 3 faces in the room.

"That was close." Ian took the gun away from his head. He started to inspect the Smith and Wesson.

"Nice gun," he said, streaming his fingers over the gun. The wood-style handle, up the gun, towards the cylinder.......

He spun it.

"Who's brave......" he paused, "or stupid enough to go next, hm?"

It finally hit Ace that this was all too real, that only one man would walk out of this dark, basement-like room.

A feeling in the back of his throat flared up. He felt the urge to say "Me", take the gun, spin it and pull......but he couldn't say the word.

"Me."

That wasn't supposed to come out, thought Ace. He had just dug himself into a big hole that he wanted to close up and keep himself inside.

"I spun it for you." said Ian. Once again, the smug look had he had when he came in escaped his face for a more concerned one.

"I wouldn't trust him, kid," replied BTG to Ace, "spin it again." He did exactly what he was told.

Whirrrrrrrr..... The cylinder spun.

His heart pounded, his eyes closed, his sweating got worse.

That feeling came again. He wanted to pull, but couldn't. But he did already.

I'm kindof surprised that I'm liking this. Russian roulette was never a favorite of mine. But you do such a good job with the suspense that I can't help but start getting addicted.

"Oh thank God."

Ace put his head on the table, panting heavily.

"You had us both worried there, kid." said BTG.

"Your go". replied Ian, whose concerned look switched back to a smug grin. It was almost as if he enjoyed the company.

Ace, still with his head on the table, flung the gun across the table and it stopped right in front of BTG. He seemed quiet throughout the time the three had been in the room.

"Where you from?" Ian asked.

"My group hangs around Central Square and Stanton St."

"Ah."

"We're easy to spot........not that you'd care." joked BTG back. Ian let out a quick "Heh" just to lighten the mood. For now.

He spun the cylinder.

Whirrrrr.......

By now the sound of the gun's cylinder had become recognized by all 3, almost etched or imprinted into their minds.

They all didn't want to say it but it scared them inside.

"Round and Round..." BTG paused, while looking at Ian. "and Round it goes....where it stops," he paused again, looking at Ace.

Ace started feeling uneasy again. He was almost certain he would see BTG on the ground in a pool of blood. His mind showed him vivid hallucinations of these exact happenings. It scared him inside, and he wanted them to stop as soon as possible.

"No-one knows". He put his hand over the cylinder to stop it spinning.

Ian saw it as a safety hazard.

"Uh...." he was interrupted.

"So the Russians made this up, right?" BTG, holding the Smith and Wesson at his head, point blank.

"Yeah..." replied Ace, not even looking at BTG. He was fearing the worst.

"I always thought they were crazy".

He pulled.

I love that no one's been killed yet, and I hope no one will be killed for a while. Hitchcock always said the best type of suspense is the bomb under the table that doesn't go off.

"Let's kick it up a notch." Ian grabbed the gun and another bullet.

snap! He put the bullet in.

"Odds are now 4 to 2. The empty holes represent your life".

Ace was almost at breaking point. "Stop trying to freak us out."

"Oh, I'm sorry, did you wet yourself?"

Ace stood up out of his chair. He was fighting back. "The only reason I'm here is that they made me! I'm pretty sure, deep down in that hole you call a heart you're scared for your life, too."

BTG was speechless. He didn't say a word.

"Ever since you've been down here, you've cared for no one but yourself."

"But this is Russian-freakin'-Roulette, not Kindergarten!" Ian blurted back. He paused for a second.

"In a game of Double R you never trust anyone. Not even yourself...."

"You want a go, kid?" Ian threw Ace the gun, 2 bullets and all.

Ace spun the cylinder and put the gun to his head, not taking his eyes off Ian once.

"Here's to not trusting anyone." Ace said, a look of anger on his face.

"Whatever."

He had the gun on his head, ready to pull..............

nothing yet.

"You gonna go?" Ian asked intently.

Ace said nothing. Deep breaths, he was waiting for the moment.

Ian had it.

"PULL THE FREAKING TRIGGER AND GET IT OVER WITH!"

Ace retaliated.

"SHUT UP!"

He pulled.

Holy shizzle is this intense. T-coke knows how to make a better Russian Roulette story than the guys who did The Deer Hunter.

Ace threw the gun onto the table in the direction of BTG.

He screamed. His tolerance barrier was broken. He put his head in his hands.

The gun didn't go off, luckily.

BTG held the gun in his hands.

"My go?"

Just making chapters shorter to add a little more suspense.

"Sure." Ian replied. Knock yourself out.
It was getting rather hot inside this room. Only one small window was the trio's source of fresh air as the heat began to encapsulate the room. It was open. It was kind of like one of those insane rooms with the bouncy floors and walls, yeah?

BTG paused for a minute, and then spun the barrel.

Whirr.....

Ian sat down on the other side of the table, exactly facing BTG, nervous look on his face and all. Ace was still holding his head in his hands, but he looked up at the moment he pulled the trigger.

BANG!

The loud sound of the gun rocked the small, dark room as a flash of light came from the side of BTG's head. His face crumpled on impact as he began his descent onto the concrete floor. Ian and Ace watched on in horror as he fell onto the ground almost gracefully, in slow-motion onto the floor. A soft thud hit the ground.

Ace was petrified. "You go over".

Ian walked over slowly to the point where BTG was sitting. He froze.

BTG was on the ground, one side of his face almost caved in. Blood everywhere all on his jacket, pants and even on the floor. The gun still firmly wrapped in his fingers. Ian checked his pulse, two fingers on the neck.

He jumped back. Hand over his mouth in astonishment.

"What?" Ace asked, a scared look on his face.

Ian started walking towards Ace.
...

...

...

"He's still alive."[/i]
