Is there a general music thread? If not...

I made a song. Just kind of experimenting with what I could get out of my Garageband synth stuff.

http://hard2reed.com/music/Possesion.mp3

Also, I misspelled Possession for a reason.

Holy crap. Rusty, I want you to come up with a Synth intro to C.O.L.A. 415.

The intro was a little long, but that's ok because you followed it up with a great beat.

Then you wen't back to the cave sounds (is that from Soap Bubble?) but I didn't think much of it, since you had to come back to a beat soon, which you did... kinda.

And then the baby came in.

And kept going.

And then the screams.

Now I understand that some people like that stuff, I understand it's Avant-garde, but it's not really my cup of Tea.

Just my unimportant 2 cents.

Oh, good, someone actually hates the ending.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. I'm always suspicious when anyone thinks something I do is good. :\

I liked the bit of it that actually had some sort of melody, but the intro and especially the outro were a bit too much, especially since they take up most of the song.

I thought so too, after listening a couple more times. Something to work on, I suppose.

I was planning on doing 10 or 12 tracks and kind of making them all connect. Like, the song after Possesion would start with screams.

Alrighty, cut down the end and beginning to what I hope is a bearable length. Tell me what you think now.

They're both the same and they both work for me.

I liked it, except the screaming/crying is a little weird.

Not being sarcastic. I seriously want you to compose the intro to C.O.L.A. 415. I want it to kind of be like Shine On you Crazy Diamond's intro.

Contact me on AIM or MSN and we'll talk.

Sure.

Do you need the demo for the song to create an intro, or could you just go at it blindly?

I'd probably need some kind of demo. Also, finals are next week, so I may be able to get it done next week.

I got a question:
Did you make the drum beat from scratch or was it one of those default ones in Garageband?

Alright, I'll have most of the song down soon, but there is only one condition:

YOU CANNOT RELEASE ANY PART OF THE SONG, IN PIECE OR IN WHOLE, TO THE PUBLIC; THAT INCLUDES THIS FORUM, EVERY OTHER FORUM, AND EVEN IRL.

I'll have it to you by tomorrow at the latest.

It's a GB drum loop. I'm no good with keyboard percussion and I don't have a drum set or machine, so...that was pretty much my only option.

COLA: Sure.
