Start psychedelic, then gradually flow into metal. Then, for the last song, go back to psychedelic.

Long songs, spanning into at least 45 minutes (Hopefully) either that or I expand.

Makes sense to me!

EDIT: Wait, I got something... i have a feeling... like my nerves are flaring up... I had this feeling when I wrote the opening riff to Cake...

That's like 7 and a half minute long songs.

45 minutes is the length of Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Final Cut, The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking, and the first three songs of Ziltoid The Omniscient.

I think I can manage it.

I was saying that 7 and a half minutes isn't that long for a song.

wat

The average song length of any song is 3 minutes, how is 7 not that long compared to that?

There ya go. First song is like a 5 minute synth procession. You gotta hear what it goes into, I havent recorded the guitar track for song 2 yet due to a busted string, but OH MAN is it awesome.

Gentlemen, I have everything written down and ready, all I need is my drummer to come by and set up so we can record.

What comes after is lyrics.

Happy birthday!

Yeah, it'll be available there for free. I've said "Screw It" to selling it as it doesn't sound good enough to be placed for sale.

But listen to it anyway.

EDIT: To those promised a free copy of Cake, contact me.

I just listened through the entire album.

It's pretty good, but I am still noticing two things:
  • The drums are still slightly off in some songs.
  • The vocoder is different in every song (I'm not sure if this was intentional or not).

I'm sure that these will be cleared up later on. Other than that, the guitar tracks are pretty good. Keep up the good work.

Good News: I ordered the Drumkit From Hell, and I'll begin recording the rest of MDW when it comes in.

Zuh?

Are you still not able to think of anything for MDW?

EDIT:
reading is fun!

To answer this whole post and give a sort of update or something: DFH is a multi layer drum sampler that I'm going to use for every track on MDW. Second, I have most of MDW's guitar riffs thought up, I just need to arrange them, find a suitable drum pattern, and then record.

I won't be able to record for another two or three weeks due to the fact that my mother wants me to spend some of the summer down there with her, so we'll have to sit tight and wait for any new updates.

As for lyrics, i have some cooking up, and they're going to mainly be sung like Angela Gossow from Arch Enemy, with the only difference being that I am a Man, and my voice is deeper.

You're not an idiot, Just misinformed.

YOU ALL ARE! Why?

Knee Deep in the Dead was the next part in the Story I planned that started with Cake. I figured that people would remember me as some dude who made a long story spanning over 9 albums rather than a musician, so I decided to back off of it. See, thats the good thing about the first part of a huge story arc: You don't leave on a cliffhanger or on a boring ending.

so in lieu of KDitD, a name I was screwing around with (General Spastik Faec's Mechanical Doom Walker) was shortened and became the next album. Thus is where we are at now, The Mechanical Doom Walker.

Holy coincidence, Batman! I was gonna suggest that you do some Arch Enemy style melodeath/thrash on MDW.

EDIT:
I just listened to the new Blinking Lights. It reminds me of what I do with my phaser, wah, and tremolo when I run out of songs to play or I'm bored.

By the way, I still need someone to draw/design a Steampunk monster to be called the Mechanical Doom Walker.

It's really... out there.
It is pretty cool at most times, but not really something I'd listen to out of leisure.

I don't know if that "Out There" is a good "Out There" or a bad "Out There."

EDIT: Well, everyone seems to like the song Cake as its the most downloaded out of all of them...

I mean just kinda weird, not necessarily in a good or bad way.
Edit: Yeah, I think I should also mention that it wouldn't hurt to redo Running Blind... it sounds a tad sloppy at times and the drums are way off sometimes.

Oh, dude...
Yeah, now it sounds like you should definitely rerecord the album with another track in it's place, or just twenty three skedoo something that sounds similar (but better).
