SMACK
Rusty’s eyes snapped open. Slowly, he sat up in his bed, looking through glazed eyes at his surroundings; his alarm clock read 4:23 AM. He ran his hand through his mop of brown hair... what was that noise? His roommate should still be in bed.

The kitchen floor creaked as Rusty stumbled in, looking for the source of the sound. His duplex had been robbed before, but thankfully, all they were able to steal was some of his dirty silverware. Crazy crooks. They better not have come back, or there was gonna be some serious heck.

He continued into his entranceway... where were the lights? He fumbled for the switch.

fwip-fwip fwip

He spun around, his eyes wide, his fists ready. Nothing.

“Who is it?” Rusty yelled into the inky darkness. He felt the first hints of fear slicing through his veins.

He slowly turned back towards his front door, his hand groping along the wall for the switch... finally, he made contact, and the lights came up.

The door window was covered in a streak of blood. Rusty screamed.

We got A&C at the beginning of September 2005--around Labor Day. I remember posting my original Forumfic in it after the other A&C-related threads at the time were moved to the section.

Yeah, it showed up a few days after I joined.

Who else had forumfics at that time? I remember Midnight Hunters/SOUL, Extermination (which I never read), and my two pieces o' crap.
