Original Title: The Not-So-Annual Create a Country Contest

I did this back in the early days of the Forum, and I just remembered that I hadn't done one in over a year and a half, so I may as well bring it back while I can still remember it.

The Create a Country contest is a contest in which users create civilizations of some sort and give them some fairly-detailed information. The rules for it are quite simple:
  1. You don't need to sign up for this; just post your civilization.
  2. The civilization can be as big or as small as you'd like, and can be located anywhere in the universe.
  3. Your entry must include, at the least, the following details:
    • The name of your civilization
    • A map that you created; it can be as detailed as you like, and can be made with any art medium (make it original).
    • Its "history"
    • Some interesting facts about it
    • Its location in the universe (i.e. the sun)
  4. Be as creative as you'd like for this!
  5. There are two judges: Bug and myself. We will judge you on a 10.0-scale (so we could give you a score ranging from 0.1 to 10.0).
  6. Post your entries in this thread, do not PM them to me.
  7. The winner will receive a trophy that can be used as either an avatar or signature, a possible signature ribbon, and (if there are enough entries) some type of writing piece revolving around them and/or their country. Please note that the last prize may not work out, and is merely a prize suggested by a user. When I finish making them, I will post the trophy images below these rules.
  8. The deadline for this is Sunday, March 16, at 11:59 PM EST (since I like stalling) Friday, March 21, at 11:59 PM EST. This gives you approximately three weeks to make your civilization.

If you have any questions, be sure to tell me. These rules are hopefully easy and understand and quite lax.

Also, if you'd like some ideas, check out the previous version of this contest from back in May of 2006.

Perhaps the winner should get some kinda EPIC TALE written (by Disk?) set in their imaginary country. That would be cool.

Perhaps.

Of course, it requires entries first. :P

Hopefully ten or more.

Meh.

Hmm...this looks kinda interesting. Only problem is I'm not much of an artist nor am I very creative. But I'll think of something... :-S

By the way, I think this should be in A&C. One, because it's not really a game, it's more of an arts-and-crafts contest, and two, because I think it's important that people – you know, COOL people, not the usual Forum Games noobs – are interested in it.

Yes, I dissed Forum Games.

I know there are some exceptions, but mostly this place is just filled with noobs. All right? Even more so than the upper forums. Maybe not Fun Polls. Fun Polls is pretty bad.

Sorry, but it's true IMO.

While your statements about some of the users here may have been a bit overstated with the post, I guess that it could work out in Arts & Crafts. However, that section isn't really too populated at this day and age, either.

I'll let the mods decide where this would be best at.

I don't care either way, it fits in both. Since you don't seem to care either, I'll listen to Einoo and move it.

Is this what winning friends and influencing people is like?

Name: Tuloh
History: (Do you like Pokemon? If you don't, don't read any further.) Founded a long time ago (nobody is exactly sure when, sometime around the 1500's) by a group of shipwrecked sailors from the Johto region. On this chain of islands (the one on the left named the Western Continent, the one on the right named the Eastern Continent, and the small islands in between named the Central Archipelago), there were Pokemon species no one had ever seen before. The continents were totally uninhabited by people. In the 1700's, sailors from Hoenn tried to conquer the territory for themselves, but were wiped out by the native Tuloh people. It remained a secret for hundreds of years because, until the 21st century, there was no transportation between Tuloh and the other 4 regions. Then, in 2007, a yacht service was founded in Safira City, ferrying people from Vermillion City in Kanto, Olivine City in Johto, Lilycove City in Hoenn, and Canalave City in Sinnoh, and finally exposing the world to this mysterious land.
Interesting facts: Tuloh has a bridge that connects the two main continents, but it is unaccessable to all who haven't beaten the League. To cross otherwise, take a ferry from Safira City to North Central Island, then ferry to Glittergold City in the south. Tuloh is also the only place in the Pokemon world with no contest hall. Coordinators are advised to stay away from Tuloh.
Location: Somewhere southwest of Johto, but a little north of Hoenn.
Size: Compare the size of the Western Continent to an area the size of the UK. The largest of the Central Archipelago would equal the size of Connecticut, the smallest about the length of Rhode Island.

This is Mantz in 1996.
ImageIt was claimed by an unknown dweller in 1769 and turned into a constitutional republic in 1789. It and the nations connected to it used to be where the Hudson Bay is today, but now it's located underground; it was driven down there by the US in 1870. It was somehow involved in World Wars I and II. It was at civil war from 1947 to 1950 due to unrest caused by the selection of its president following World War II. It has been at war since 1987 with Kickland over whether punching or kicking is better.
Currency: Before 1946: American dollars; Post 1946: Lira.
Language: Any dialect of English, but mostly Canadian.

Its land is shaped like its current President.

No...?

I'll probably extend this thing's date if it doesn't get too many more entries in the coming days.
